BOSTON (AP) -- A former professor accused of killing three colleagues in a shooting rampage in Alabama earlier this year won't be charged in an attempted mail-bombing in Massachusetts 17 years ago. The chief federal prosecutor in Boston said the initial investigation into two pipe bombs that were mailed to a scientist in 1993 was "appropriate and thorough." The case has never been solved.
