<p>Earlier this month, we covered the story of the “Socialist Joker” Obama poster, which was spotted around Los Angeles and as far afield as Chicago. By early August, the image had gone viral, enraging progressives and earning plaudits from conservatives. Now, thanks to some gumshoeing by the folks over at the Los Angeles Times, the creator of the portrait has been unmasked.</p>

When cryptic posters portraying President Obama as the Joker from "Batman" began popping up around Los Angeles and other cities, the question many asked was, Who is behind the image? Was it an ultra-conservative grassroots group or a disgruntled street artist going against the grain? Nope, it turns out, just a 20-year-old college student from Chicago.

The identity of the creator of the "Obama as Joker" image has been uncovered, as the Los Angeles Times reports. He is a Palestinian-American named Firas Alkhateeb, from Obama's hometown of Chicago, who prefers Dennis Kucinich for President! The Mainstream Media had stoked all kinds of speculation that the creator of the photo had some kind of racial motivation. It will be hard for them to make that case now. The identity of the person or persons who placed several pictures of Alkhateeb's creation around Los Angeles is still unkown.

According to MSNBC, LA Weekly, the San Francisco Chronicle and the Washington Post, the mystery artist who created the sensational Obama Joker image was a closet hood-wearing Darth Cheney-like Klansman. How about a young Palestinian-American Kucinich fan?
