ABC’s Modern Family actor Ed O’Neill says he plans to give back his honorary doctorate degree to Youngstown State University in protest of the school hiring former Republican congressman Bill Johnson as its new president. “I was so disappointed when I heard about this decision,” O’Neill told MSNBC. “He’s a polarizing guy, an election denier. He’s not the biggest fan of the gay community. He’s anti-choice. He’s just a polarizing, far right-wing fanatical guy.” O’Neill, who is from Youngstown, Ohio, also criticized Johnson for supporting former President Donald Trump after the 45th president was indicted, saying, “It’s crazy.”

After posting this image on Twitter over the weekend a liberal replied with the now trite logic that Obama has a strong "gutsy" foreign policy because he killed Osama bin Laden (he waffled before it was "gutsy," and he didn't personally execute the raid)The argument that ensued (and ended, as they usually do, with the liberal blocking me) inspired this piece. For the uninitiated on Married With Children get the scoop on its meaning here.

Barack Obama's campaign has come up with a humorous comeback to Joe the plumber. At every campaign stop, Republican rival John McCain mentions Joe Wurzelbacher, who complained to Obama that his tax cut proposal would penalize small businesses. In a new video today, Al the shoe salesman computes the tax cut he would get under the two candidates, using the Obama camp's trusty tax calculator. Al is Al Bundy (played by actor Ed O'Neill), the aggrieved husband in the comedy hit "Married with Children," which aired during the late 1980s and 1990s. Al makes $20,000 a year and has kids....

Even though they allow for high-volume servicing and back-in-a-flash trips to the john, the point-and-shoot-a-stinky-deodorizer-cake oddity known as the men’s restroom urinal has been, for women, a constant enigma. But nothing will prepare you for the men’s room in the newly-designed Virgin Airways Clubhouse in New York’s John F. Kennedy airport, terminal 4: Urinals shaped like a woman’s mouth, dolled up with red lipstick, wide open and ready for business. “In anything that we do there has to be a smile, and that’s the smile in this Clubhouse,” said John Riordan, Vice President of Customer Services for Virgin Airways....

The BBC's Newsnight programme has learnt that Yemen is about to launch an operation against suspected al-Qaeda members within the country. For the United States Government it could not come too soon. Yemen is high on its alert list of states where al-Qaeda would like to regroup. For the past few months US special forces have been quietly training Yemeni troops to take on the terrorists. The result is an anti-terror unit that is raring to go into action and soon will be. I have received confidential briefings from US officials who tell me they believe some of al-Qaeda's most...

ROME (AP) — Italian police are trying to learn if a document-forging operation in Turin served as a logistical base for al-Qaida, authorities said Monday. The document center, an apartment in a Turin neighborhood populated by many illegal immigrants, was raided in December, said Luciano Nigro, a Turin police precinct chief, and investigation into its operations have been going on since. On Monday, La Stampa, a Turin daily, reported that police believe the place furnished documents for recruits for al-Qaida, Osama bin Laden's terrorist network. ``I don't have proof,'' Nigro told The Associated Press, but ``we are investigating.'' Nigro said...
