Conservatives have a strong case against Vice President Kamala Harris if they can avoid salaciousness and frame the issue properly. On Sunday, according to The San Francisco Standard, former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown held an impromptu news conference outside a restaurant in which he endorsed Harris as President Joe Biden’s replacement at the top of the Democratic presidential ticket. To put it mildly, Harris could have done without Brown’s endorsement. The establishment media, of course, will gloss over important details of his history with the vice president. For instance, the Standard noted merely that Brown “dated Harris when she...

"You think everybody would be thrilled with something like that,"...

In exchange the two other murder charges against Logwood, the killing of 24-year-old Zaire Washington and 30-year-old Richard Carter, that took place in the same year would be...

A quarter of all deaths previously attributed to COVID-19 in Alameda County weren’t actually caused by the coronavirus, the Alameda County Public Health Department announced today. That puts the county’s new official COVID-19 death toll at 1,223, down from 1,634. The 25% decrease—or 411 cases—is due to the fact that COVID “wasn’t a direct cause” of death in these cases, according to county health officials.

Vilified, threatened with violence and in some cases suffering from burnout, dozens of state and local public health leaders around the U.S. have resigned or have been fired amid the coronavirus outbreak, a testament to how politically combustible masks, lockdowns and infection data have become. One of the latest departures came Sunday, when California’s public health director, Dr. Sonia Angell, was ousted following a technical glitch that caused a delay in reporting hundreds of thousands of virus test results — information used to make decisions about reopening businesses and schools. Last week, New York City’s health commissioner was replaced after...

The country's largest and best known gun rights association, the NRA, is losing board members amid a spate of deadly mass shootings. But another, lesser-known gun organization is thriving: the National African American Gun Association, the largest minority gun group in the country. The group was founded by Phillip Smith, who fondly remembers the first time he fired his 9 mm pistol at a gun range. "I felt free," Smith said. "I had a chance to kind of have some power in my hands." Smith formed the first chapter of the National African American Gun Association, or NAAGA, in Atlanta....

Elon Musk remained a free man on Tuesday afternoon, despite violating shelter-in-place orders by reopening Tesla’s Fremont, Calif., factory without permission from Alameda County, where the facility is located. Musk tweeted on Monday that production had restarted, saying: “I will be on the line with everyone else. If anyone is arrested, I ask that it only be me.” The county health department said Monday that Tesla had gone beyond the minimum allowed operations, which opened Musk up to a potential misdemeanor charge and either 90 days in jail or a fine of $1,000 per day. However, the Fremont Police Department,...
