In an interview with KrebsOnSecurity, the UMD team said they found that in addition to exposing Russian troop pre-deployment sites, the location data made it easy to see where devices in contested regions originated from. “This includes residential addresses throughout the world,” Levin said. “We even believe we can identify people who have joined the Ukraine Foreign Legion.” They also shared a written statement they received from Starlink, which acknowledged that Starlink User Terminal routers originally used a static BSSID/MAC ...Rye said Apple’s response addressed the most depressing aspect of their research: That there was previously no way for anyone...

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman who is three months pregnant says she was carjacked at gunpoint after a crash, but an AirTag hidden inside a Bible helped her track down her vehicle. Zaliyah Hughes said she was headed to Tops Bar-B-Que on Summer Avenue when a light-colored Nissan crashed into the passenger side of her Hyundai Sonata at the intersection of Summer and Holmes. “I was going through the light, and they were supposed to stop. They were speeding and hit me,” said Hughes.”Once they hit me, the man who had a black mask on already had his gun pointed...

As you know, there's been a mass migration of Californians to Texas over the past couple of years, but there's something these Californians need to keep in mind before moving to the Lone Star state. Texas ain't California! Let's look at just one example: car theft is such a common occurrence in California that people in San Francisco just leave their cars open, so the thieves won't damage the vehicles while robbing them. "Insurance will take care of it," they think. And all I can say to that is "thanks for helping raise all our insurance rates, 30% over the...

The alleged thief wasn’t aware that the vehicle was being tracked, officials said. Authorities found several bullet casings and two cars with their windows shot out. Officials are determining if the suspect will be charged in the fatal shooting. AirTag was designed to help people locate their personal belongings, not to track people or another person’s property, and we condemn in the strongest possible terms any malicious use of our products.

However, the suitcase remained there for more than three months. In the meantime, Rees says that Air...
