2 women sue Apple in California over AirTag tracking

Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Two women sued Apple in California federal court on Monday charging that the tech company did not do enough to prevent them from being stalked with the use of its AirTags.

In the class action lawsuit filed in the U.S. Northern District Court of California on Monday, one alleged victim said she found her ex-husband left an AirTag in her child's backpack and once she disabled it she located a second one.

In the second incident, Lauren Hughes claimed after ending a three-month relationship, her former companion harassed her with blocked numbers, fake social media profiles to follow her social media accounts and left threatening voicemails.

Hughes said after receiving an alert, she discovered a tracking AirTag inside the wheel well of one of her back tires.

AirTags, which Apple rolled out in 2021, were designed to help Apple users find their misplaced tech devices. They can be purchased for as little as $29, connect to iPhones and iPads via Bluetooth technology, which can provide an approximate location if those devices are lost.

You mean everybody doesn’t tag their wives and girlfriends? I find that the ear lobe is a good location to place them

Well where does your kind of thinking end?
Next thing you are going to start saying Ford isn’t responsible for drunk driving, and that gun makers aren’t responsible for shootings. /s

One major Solar EMP burst away from the burst of the technology bubble. Inevitably speaking, of course.

Whenever I broke up with a girlfriend, it was my fervent hope to never see them again.

Ford and Smith & Wesson, are saying "Welcome to the lawsuit club", but I really do not have any sympathy for Apple.

Ford created cars to make life easier, Smith & Wesson makes a product that provides protection, while Apple created a product to put other lives in jeopardy.

Just remember the same libtards that run apple think victims of gun violence should be able to sue the manufacturers.

Apple being sued in class action suit by two women who claim that they were being stalked by use of Apple AirTags so Apple MUST somehow be responsible for illegal use of their products by the stalker and that Apple did not do enough to prevent AirTags from being used to stalk them. The purpose of AirTags is to locate lost or missing items. The use of those devices to follow someone illegally is NOT something Apple is responsible for.

Would this not be similar to holding manufacturers of beer, wine, and spirits responsible for the misuse of their products, McDonalds responsible for the obesity of their customers, gun manufacturer’s responsible for the criminal or accidental acts of the misuse of their products or the accidents and misuse of the products of the automobile and aircraft makers?— Apple PING!

“Whenever I broke up with a girlfriend, it was my fervent hope to never see them again.”

If your ‘girlfriend’ identified as ‘them’, you might want to review how you select your ‘girlfriends’.

Ford and Smith & Wesson, are saying "Welcome to the lawsuit club", but I really do not have any sympathy for Apple.

Ford created cars to make life easier, Smith & Wesson makes a product that provides protection, while Apple created a product to put other lives in jeopardy.

Please elucidate how the millions of Apple AirPods have put even a minority of their buyers or users lives in danger, and how they are not useful for the purpose for which they are sold or intended for use, DallasBiff. I suspect that you cannot. The percentage of such cases as these women are filing suit over is so small as to be microscopic, and your argument you’ve just claimed that “Apple created a product put other lives in jeopardy” that somehow differs from a similar argument that could be applied in a similar vein toward Ford or Smith & Wesson when their products are misused by end users just as Apple’s AirPods were misused by their end users??? Could not a Ford Car or a Smith & Wesson handgun be said to have been created to put other lives in jeopardy???

I put it to you that people LIKE YOU have said exactly that stupid thing you’ve just said about those companies for the exact same reason!

What does that say about YOU, DallasBiff?

I suggest you rethink your argument.
