LONDON -- Union leaders representing London Underground workers said Thursday they will hold talks with managers aimed at preventing a crippling New Year's Eve strike on the city's subway system. The negotiations will take place at arbitration service ACAS on Friday in the hope of avoiding a planned 24-hour walkout from noon Dec. 31.
