British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Tuesday he would not be deterred from supporting Ukraine by "irresponsible" Russian rhetoric, after Russian President Vladimir Putin lowered the threshold for a nuclear strike. "There's irresponsible rhetoric coming from Russia, and that is not going to deter our support for Ukraine," he told reporters at the G20 summit in Brazil. Putin's new nuclear doctrine lowers the threshold under which Russia might use atomic weapons to include responding to attacks that threaten its territorial integrity. The move comes as Ukraine used U.S. ATACMS missiles to strike Russian territory on Tuesday, taking advantage of...

Jake Lang rescued Philip Anderson from a stampede at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. (Courtesy of Jake Lang)On Oct. 12, Jake Lang passed a milestone: 1,000 days in jail without a trial. To mark the anniversary, he wanted to share with the American people "the horrific conditions of confinement," which he says he and many of his fellow Jan. 6 prisoners have had to endure."During this time, I've done 20 months of solitary confinement," Mr. Lang told The Epoch Times. "For 15 months of that, I wasn't allowed to have a haircut or a shave."This was intentional, he...

As our intrepid president prepares to lecture Congressional Republicans for rudely refusing to sign on to every last element of his astonishingly irresponsible tax-and-spend agenda, Senate Democrats can rest assured that Obama will spare them the humiliation of mentioning today's truly pathetic anniversary. Yes, January 24, 2012, marks the one-thousandth day since the United States Senate -- controlled by Democrats since 2007 -- last introduced a budget. Harry Reid's crew evidently couldn't care less that passing annual fiscal blueprints is a statutory requirement. To explain away their intentional negligence, Democrats have attempted to (surprise!) blame Republicans for obstructing the process. ...

Fox News host Bill O'Reilly gives President Obama high marks for fighting terrorism during his first 1,000 days in office, but a dismal and failing grade on managing the nation's economy. In his Friday night's "Talking Points Memo," O'Reilly offers a damning list of facts that "will take your breath away." O'Reilly detailed them: Since Obama has been in office, the national debt has increased $4.2 trillion. The country now spending $4.2 billion every day more than it takes in. Some 2.2 million jobs have been lost on his watch even though he added 140,000 jobs to the government payroll....

I get a kick out of all these pronouncements that Barack Obama is doomed to be a one-term president. In fact, I’d put his odds of re-election at this point at roughly 2-1 in favor, for several reasons. One is history. In the second year of his presidency, Obama’s job approval rating is hovering in the high 40s. The most recent Rasmussen numbers have him at 49 percent approval, 50 percent disapproval. Gallup’s numbers are 47/46. Given the troubled economy, those are actually very strong numbers. For example, compare them to Ronald Reagan’s numbers in 1982, which was the Gipper’s...

A milestone was marked in space Tuesday, the 1,000th consecutive day of people living and working aboard the International Space Station. Seven crews have lived on the Space Station, as it has dramatically grown in size and capabilities. Since the first crew arrived Nov. 2, 2000, the Station has grown into an unparalleled space laboratory whose size will eventually more than double. The living and working area has increased 6,000 cubic feet during the past 1,000 days. The Station's 15,000 cubic feet volume is larger than a three-bedroom house. The seven Expedition crews, 10 Americans and 10 Russians, have conducted...
