Shares of Versant Media Group, home to channels such as USA Network and CNBC, slumped 13% in its market debut after its spinoff from Comcast, underscoring investor skepticism around traditional TV businesses in the streaming era. The spinoff is Comcast’s response to shifting market dynamics in the media industry, as streaming pressures traditional cable TV viewership, prompting media companies to rethink their ownership of legacy networks. The separation will allow Comcast to focus on its streaming, film and TV assets while shedding its declining cable networks division – once a core part of the company’s business. Comcast first announced plans...

President Trump has made clear he wants to revitalize Venezuela’s oil industry so he can use the cash to make the country great again — but the sector is in shambles after decades of plunder, talent flight and negligence as a result of socialist rule. After capturing Venezuelan dictator Nicolas Maduro over the weekend, Trump vowed that US companies would soon tap into the nation’s rich oil reserves, which Caracas says hold about 303 billion barrels worth of petrol, roughly 17% of the world’s supply. Production has plummeted since hitting a high in 1997 — and the country produced just...

All the US Department of Homeland Security had to do this week was push out a tweet rife with explosive allegations against Hilton Hotels to set the Internet ablaze. On Monday (US time), the official DHS account on X fumed in all-caps, “NO ROOM AT THE INN!” The American federal department went on to call out the notable Hilton Hotels banner, accusing it of launching a “coordinated campaign” in Minneapolis against immigration authorities. Per the DHS’ side of the account, a Hilton Hotels-affiliated establishment refused service to law enforcement agents when Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers tried to book...

Anyone else notice this in their local news coverage? Maybe I see it more because there is a large Hispanic and especially Venezuelan population in Miami. But the Venezuelan diaspora is VERY HAPPY with President Trump for booting Maduro. *THE MEDIA REFUSES TO REPORT THIS FACT* Instead, the "journalists" say stuff like "The Venezuelans have hope for the future of their homeland..." But nothing about how they praise Trump.

Three things were said in the aftermath of the remarkable"Operation Absolute Resolve," mounted by the American military, which resulted in the arrest in Venezuela and removal to a Brooklyn jail of dictator Nicholas Maduro and his wife in the early morning hours of Saturday which deserve particular attention. During the press conference that morning, after President Donald Trump had announced the stunning success of the American military’s actions, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said: "President Trump doesn’t play games." In the course of the press conference that followed, President Trump declared at one point, simply but directly: "Life is a...

Walz, who has governed the North Star State since 2019 and presided over the devastating George Floyd riots, was relatively unknown before Harris announced him as her vice presidential nominee in August 2024. He was instantly praised (by journalists) as the paragon of Midwestern charm and “modern masculinity.” Alas, the national spotlight quickly exposed Walz as a bumbling fabulist with a bizarre penchant for fabulous gesticulations on the stump. He lied about serving in combat and being in China during the Tiananmen Square massacre. He disgraced himself on the debate stage next to J.D. Vance. Walz’s exit from the 2026...

Traveling from country to country without restrictions. Shorter lines at the border. The right to live and work in your dream destination, or to reconnect with family roots. All that, and more, is the dream of those who seek dual citizenship. And that includes monsieur George Clooney, who celebrated the end of 2025 by acquiring French citizenship for himself and his family. Dual citizenship — the ability to be a citizen of two (or more) countries — has long been popular with travelers, expats and dreamers. In a world of increasing red tape, who wouldn’t want to skip the long...

This Morbid Monday was sparked by a photo connected to the Jeffrey Epstein case that was recently released and immediately sparked a lot of questions. People started asking the same thing over and over.... is this what they think it is, or is something else going on here? When images involving death start circulating online, I tend to get tagged aka "summoned". And honestly, my morbid little heart loves that people think of me when they want someone to weigh in through death science instead of panic. So… here goes nothing. This episode isn’t about rehashing the Epstein case or...

“God...has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Eph. 1:3, emphasis added). Christianity isn’t simply a belief system—it’s a whole new identity. Many people mistakenly believe that one's religious preference is irrelevant because all religions eventually lead to the same spiritual destination. Such thinking is sheer folly, however, because Scripture declares that no one comes to God apart from Jesus (John 14:6). He is the only source of salvation (Acts 4:12) and the only One powerful enough to redeem us and hold us secure forever (John 10:28). Every Christian shares a common supernatural union with...

The U.S. attack on Venezuela and the capture of dictator Nicolás Maduro have intensified electoral rhetoric in Brazil, which will hold presidential elections this year. Leaders on the country’s right are using the episode to criticize President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who has adopted a cautious tone when addressing the issue. Allies of former president Jair Bolsonaro, including Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, his son, as well as some governors, have linked the case to communism and see room to exploit it during the campaign. Part of the right says it expects backing from Donald Trump in Brazil’s election. The left...

Today was the premiere of CBS's revamped Evening News. The reboot is being presented as a return to a less partisan news format. Just curious what some of you think about it. FWIW, I did find the broadcast to be generally fair in its viewpoint, if a little frenetic in its presentation.

The audience of The View was stunned after one of the hosts defended Trump's arrest of Maduro, going against the stances held by her fellow liberal panel members. The talk show opened its episode this morning with a conversation about the astonishing capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on January 3, to which co-host Ana Navarro, who was born in Nicaragua, said she shed tears of joy. Navarro, a Republican but a vocal critic of President Trump, listed why she and other Hispanics are celebrating the ousting of the dictator, only to be interrupted by co-host Sunny Hostin, who asked:...

During Tuesday's Gutfeld! episode, Fox News contributor Kat Timpf criticized Operation Absolute Resolve, the U.S.-led mission that apprehended Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro on drug trafficking charges. She argued that capturing a leader, bombing, and claiming to run the country isn't war, but cocaine imports are—highlighting her long-held skepticism of foreign interventions. Conservatives split: some accused her of defending Maduro amid his ouster celebrations, while others like Justin Amash praised her principled stand against mob pressure, with Timpf firing back that she'd rather take heat than lie about her beliefs.

I can confirm public speculation that Ambassador Abukar Dahir Osman, Permanent Representative of Somalia to the UN and President of the Security Council, is in fact associated with Progressive Health Care Services, a home health agency in Cincinnati. HHS has previously taken action against Progressive in response to a conviction for Medicaid fraud. More to come. @HHSGov

Victor Davis Hanson: What We Were Told About January 6 Doesn’t Add Up As the fifth anniversary of January 6 approaches, the Left’s carefully constructed narrative is starting to crack. On today’s episode of "Victor Davis Hanson: In a Few Words," Hanson explains how branding January 6 an “insurrection” drove impeachment efforts, investigations, and years of specifically framed media coverage. He also examines the arrest and confession of Brian Cole Jr., the alleged January 6 pipe bomber, and why the delayed investigation and lingering questions surrounding his background cast doubt on many of the conclusions Americans were first told to...

When Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez gave a speech condemning the U.S. capture of Nicolás Maduro, she was accompanied by two men who can make or break the regime’s future. Interior Minister Diosdado Cabello and Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino command Venezuela’s police and military, the forces that kept Maduro in power for more than a decade with deadly crackdowns on dissent. Trump said Rodríguez is the de facto leader of Venezuela. She is someone who despite her anti-U.S. rhetoric has privately assured Washington that she will do its bidding with Maduro facing prison, Trump said on Saturday. But Cabello and...
