Daily Readings from the USCCB“The one who had received five talents came forward bringing the additional five. He said, ‘Master, you gave me five talents. See, I have made five more.’ His master said to him, ‘Well done, my good and faithful servant. Since you were faithful in small matters, I will give you great responsibilities.’” Matthew 25:20–21Oftentimes, when we are presented with a story of success versus tragedy, our attention goes to the tragedy first. The parable we are given today, the Parable of the Talents, presents us with three persons. Two of the people display stories of great...

In an increasingly troubling academic trend, companies dubbed “paper mills” are selling fake studies to researchers who need publications to keep their jobs or careers moving. These fake scientific papers are being published in real journals at an alarming rate, according to a study published this month in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The number of fake papers doubled every 1.5 years between 2016 and 2020, and there are...

Run Time 54 m. / " started noticing something was off in home appraisals,” says Mitch Vexler, whistleblower and expert on property valuations. He tells Daniela Cambone: “They were inflating property values to jack up taxes, and that was feeding into trillions in school bond debt that I believe will spiral.” On the scope of the problem, Vexler is blunt: “We’re talking about $5.1 trillion in school bonds that are based on these inflated appraisals. That’s massive—this is a ticking time bomb for local governments and taxpayers alike.” He warns of consequences for the bond market: “School districts are relying...

They deleted the 1776 Report (PDF) because it contained the antidote to their poison. Not predictions. Not warnings. Solutions. Forty-five pages that explain how American principles defeat progressive tyranny. Here's what they didn't want you to read. The Founding as Revolution Against Modern PoliticsThe report opens with dynamite: "The founding of the United States of America was a deliberate act of statesmanship. Our founders considered human nature, history, and politics in order to establish a government of a particular kind."Not evolution. Not accident. Deliberate architecture. The founders studied every government in history. They identified why republics fail. Then they built something...

...Democrats lost it on Thursday after Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr. (RFK) announced that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has begun studying certain psychiatric medications following the latest trans-related mass shooting. Appearing on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends,” RFK was asked by host Brian Kilmeade if he intends to study whether the hormonal drugs used in so-called gender transitions are contributing to said shootings.... https://twitter.com/i/status/1961046886053281883 ...

The debate is not just about the power of prayer. In the United States — with both a large religious population and the most mass shootings in the world — it’s also a polarized debate about gun control. In other words, the episode set off rhetorical skirmishes along two of the biggest dividing lines in America’s cultural and political wars: God and guns. (That doesn’t even count the scrutiny over the motives and gender identity of the shooter, who died by suicide after the attack.) Frey tapped into the principle of “Tikkun Olam,” in his Jewish faith, which speaks about...

GROTON, Conn. (WFSB) - A former state police sergeant has been arrested following a confrontation in front of his home. On July 11, a Youtuber and his cameraman parked a digital billboard outside former state police sergeant Brian Fahey’s home in Groton. The billboard displayed a previous interaction the Youtuber, Sean Paul Reyes, had with Fahey in 2021 at the state police headquarters in Middletown. Reyes had gone to the home to confront Fahey over his alleged abuse of overtime. In the video, Fahey is seen grabbing a gun and spitting on Reyes. The incident was investigated by the Office...

Anti-Israel rioters on the Greek island of Crete have attacked an Israeli cruise ship, preventing tourists from disembarking in the latest incident targeting Israeli visitors in Greece. The MS Crown Iris — operated by Israeli cruise line Mano Maritime — was targeted once again by pro-Palestinian activists this week. On Thursday, Israeli tourists were physically assaulted and temporarily blocked from disembarking in Crete by about 25 protesters gathered at the island’s main port to demonstrate against the war in Gaza. The rioters, waving Palestinian flags and holding banners falsely accusing Israel of genocide, clashed violently with police who were trying...

Senate Appropriations Committee Chair Susan Collins (R-Maine) sounded the alarm Friday over President Trump’s latest request to yank back congressionally approved funding, this time without Congress’s say-so, calling it an “attempt to undermine the law.” Collins said the recent request sent to Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on Thursday seeks to pull back $4.9 billion in funding for “a wide range of foreign aid programs.” “Given that this package was sent to Congress very close to the end of the fiscal year when the funds are scheduled to expire, this is an apparent attempt to rescind appropriated funds without congressional approval,”...

...What I’m learning about the shooter’s background is horrifying - yet predictable in the Communist hellhole of Minnesota - where chaos seems to be the norm. My research is showing that the Democrat Minnesota authorities KNEW this family and their history and either ignored what he was about to do - or facilitated it....

Attorney General Pam Bondi fired another Department of Justice paralegal Friday — after the environmental division employee flipped off a National Guard member on her way to work. Elizabeth Baxter works in the same building as fellow fired paralegal Sean Charles Dunn, who allegedly threw a salami Subway sandwich at a Border Protection officer. Baxter arrived for work at the DOJ’s “4CON” building in the NoMa district of Washington, DC, at 8.21 a.m. on Aug. 18, and boasted to a DOJ security guard that she had just made the obscene gesture to a guardsman at Metro Center Metro Stop and...

As the primary cook in my house, I’m always looking for smart shortcuts that deliver delicious results. While I adore homemade cinnamon rolls, the time and effort involved means I reserve them for lazy weekend baking projects or holidays. For all other times, I reach for a tube of refrigerated cinnamon rolls. If you’ve been anywhere near TikTok or Instagram in the last few years, you’ve likely seen cascades of heavy cream poured over refrigerated rolls in kitchens across the country. I first saw this hack from MacKenzie Smith of @grilledcheesesocial. She credits @mississippi_kween and @manthacancook with the inspiration, but...

Apparently, Josh Shapiro thinks forcing workers to give their money to a group in order to work so they can then donate money to the Democratic Party and other Leftist causes is something to brag about. --SNIP-- They all are 'moderate' until they get elected.

Like all good flimfam artists, President Trump is a master of misdirection. As Americans grow increasingly skeptical of his inflationary tariffs, deficit-swelling tax cuts and senseless push to gut federal agencies and research, he floods the zone with a firehose of falsehoods to shift media and public attention elsewhere. Take his grandstanding plan to dispatch U.S. troops to Chicago and other cities, as he’s already done to Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. It’s a classic “wag the dog” ploy with a Trumpian twist: Instead of fabricating a foreign military crisis to divert voters from their domestic woes, he’s invading America’s...

In June, the U.S. Department of Justice sued Texas to end access to in-state tuition for students without legal status, arguing the Texas Dream Act discriminated against U.S. citizens. Within hours, the state conceded. KUT News is using Mariel's first name only because of privacy concerns over her immigration status. Mariel had been set to graduate from UT Austin next spring with two degrees, one in biology and another in Spanish. She would be a step closer to becoming a doctor. “That was the one thing that I felt like I had, [it] was my education. That’s the one thing...

It’s come to this: A fourteen-year-old Scottish girl has more courage to fight evil pedophiles invading her country than all the governments and police forces of Europe combined. By now you’ve seen video of Mayah Sommers, the heroine brandishing a long knife and axe while defending her twelve-year-old sister from two Muslim men making sexual advances. So sure that they could prey on Scottish youth without suffering any legal consequences, the stalkers actually filmed the event, mocking Sommers in Arabic and providing video evidence for the Scottish police to charge the young girl for possession of a bladed weapon. That’s...
