The upcoming Trump-Putin summit in Alaska, aimed at securing a peace deal for Ukraine, is being framed as a dangerous strategic error. Legitimizing Russia’s territorial conquests would set a horrible precedent, repeating the mistakes of the 1939 Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact and potentially inspiring future Russian revanchist claims on Alaska itself. Any agreement is likely to be meaningless, as Putin has no genuine interest in a lasting peace.

Texas Democrats remain on the lam, having fled the Lone Star State to avoid a special session of the legislature called by Gov. Greg Abbott to deal with flood relief and redistricting. By disregarding their legislative duties to deny the House a quorum, these Democrats have effectively abandoned the victims of the deadly July 4 Kerr County deluge and delayed a redistricting plan that would bring the state’s congressional map into compliance with a directive from the U.S. Justice Department to eliminate “coalition districts.” The Democrats object to the plan because it will likely increase the number of Republicans in...

In Texas, the Republican majority in the legislature wants to redraw the boundaries of several congressional districts. Democrats are boycotting the legislature in an attempt to prevent this outcome. The Republican majority has issued arrest warrants, but the boycotters have taken refuge outside the jurisdiction of the warrants. Some fled to Massachusetts and others to Illinois. The current number of Texas' congressional seats held by each Party are 25 for Republicans to 12 for Democrats (a 68% to 32% edge for Republicans over Democrats). If the Republican redistricting plan goes through it is projected to change the ratio to 30...

Renowned attorney Larry Klayman says the coming indictments of the Deep State traitors who tried to frame President Trump as a Russian spy in his first term are all in serious trouble. Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard charges that Obama Administration officials politicized intelligence and laid the groundwork for a “years-long coup” against President Donald Trump after he won the 2016 election. Gabbard first uncovered a mountain of documents implicating many in the so-called Deep State. Gabbard claimed in a post on X that former President Barack Obama and key members of his national security team, including then-CIA...

The "fifteen-minute cities" are already shrinking. The governments of both Nova Scotia and New Brunswick have banned walking in the woods province-wide: Jeff Evely @JeffEvely got a $28,872 dollar fine for going into the woods in Nova Scotia. FOR GOING INTO THE WOODS! Canada is broken. pic.twitter.com/eOkBa5Cttv — Ryan Gerritsen🇨🇦🇳🇱 (@ryangerritsen) August 9, 2025 This would appear to be in breach of Henry III's Charter of the Forest. But then at the dawn of the thirteenth century your average horny-handed peasant was not so in awe of government experts that he presumed they had the right to prevent him taking...

A prominent Al Jazeera journalist was killed in an airstrike alongside four of his colleagues as Israel’s military accused him of posing as a reporter to run a Hamas terrorist cell. Anas Al Sharif, a 28-year-old correspondent, was among those killed Sunday when the strikes hit a tent near Al Shifa Hospital in eastern Gaza City, Gaza officials and Al Jazeera confirmed. “Al-Sharif was the head of a Hamas terrorist cell and advanced rocket attacks on Israeli civilians and IDF troops,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said, calling him a “terrorist” who “posed as an Al Jazeera journalist.”

Alan Dershowitz might not be able to get his pierogi fix among the woke on Martha’s Vineyard, but a Florida peddler of the doughy delights is offering more than enough for the ex-Trump lawyer to fill his belly. South Florida-based Peter Nowocien, owner of PierogiOne restaurant, told The Post that no one should ever be denied the Polish comfort food staple — and pledged to send Dershowitz and his family free pierogi for life. “Pierogi should bring people together — not divide them,” said Nowocien, a Polish immigrant who moved to the US six years ago. ... Gavin Newsom is letting the Chinese buy up Pacific Palisades land.. American contractor works in both the Pacific Palisades and Altadena area and confirms Chinese nationals are calling him and asking to buy up 5-6 lots at a time He says China is buying so many properties, it’s “going to turn both Altadena and Pacific Palisades into the type of neighborhoods where you drive down and all of the signage is in Chinese.” “Do you know who's buying up all of the property in the LA fire zones? It's the Chinese. And I've avoided saying this for a while because...

A meteorite that recently crashed through the roof of a U.S. home has been found to be older than Earth itself, according to scientists. NASA confirmed the object blazed across the Georgia sky in broad daylight on June 26 before exploding. A fragment from the meteorite struck a house in McDonough, where researchers from the University of Georgia later conducted an analysis. According to CBS, their examination revealed the meteorite likely formed around 4.56 billion years ago — approximately 20 million years before Earth came into existence. The dramatic event was witnessed by hundreds across Georgia and neighboring states, many...

In the West, we keep our money in banks, not under mattresses or wall safes. Banks are safe and convenient, and they pay us interest on the money we store with them, because they then lend that money out and make a profit by charging interest to borrowers. That’s a good thing, as Jimmy Stewart explained in It’s a Wonderful Life. What helps power our economy is that we essentially loan our money to banks so that they can loan it to others who, in turn, can invest in the small business infrastructure that makes America grow. When dictators wish to...

PARIS, Aug 11 (Reuters) - Four reactors at France's Gravelines nuclear power plant were shut down late Sunday due to a swarm of jellyfish in the cooling systems, operator EDF said on Monday, likely due to rising water temperatures because of global warming. The plant in northern France is one of the largest in the country and cooled from a canal connected to the North Sea. Its six units produce 900 megawatts of power each, or 5.4 gigawatts in total.

Luke 12:6-7 (King James Version) Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. President Trump just rewrites the standards of President of the United States while proudly filling the mantle of Leader of the Free World. Unless you are a braindead DimocRat who swears total allegiance to the Party, Trump has to impress you on his ability to get things done both economically and socially. For so many Americans...

When intelligence czar Tulsi Gabbard released her report last month accusing major players in the Obama administration of fabricating the Russia collusion hoax used to tarnish Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign and beyond, some of us were not surprised. Nor were we surprised that the mainstream media has either ignored the story or tried to discredit it. We are very familiar with that playbook, having seen major media outlets use it to perfection when 51 intelligence officials signed a letter falsely claiming that Hunter Biden’s incriminating laptop had “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.” That...

Upon taking office in January 2021, former President Joe Biden wasted no time in opening the border to any and all comers. In one of his first moves as commander in chief, he ridiculed Donald Trump’s efforts to build a wall and simply abandoned millions of dollars of equipment and supplies that had been intended to fortify our southern boundary. Now Trump wants it back: The global government-surplus auction house that listed unused components of President Donald Trump’s border wall under the Biden administration told Fox News Digital on Friday that it plans to coordinate with the Trump administration to...

The United States is in the process of creating a new embassy in Lebanon that is far larger than any government facility in the nation. In fact, the 19 building, 43-acre compound is 2.5X larger than the White House and accompanying land and 10X the size of Nine Elms in London. The only larger embassy is the one the US built in Iraq. “The Land of Plenty,” as the structure will be called, will cost US taxpayers an estimated $1.2 billion. Why does the US government need a mega compound in Lebanon? It is all about Israel. The site in...

Indefensible.. In a baffling turn of events, the media actually questioned whether Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker is really qualified to be the standard bearer against gerrymandering on account of his state being more rigged than a south side backroom poker game. KRISTEN WELKER: I do want to look at the map of Illinois. Let’s take a look at this: despite President Trump winning 44% of the statewide vote in 2024, Republicans hold only three of Illinois’s 17 districts. These districts seem to be to maximize Democratic advantage. What do you say to those who argue that it’s hypocritical for you...

In the hazy impressions of memory, some may even recall it fondly: The AOL dial-up internet service that those of a certain age associate with the World Wide Web is coming to a close. The company, also known by its “You’ve got mail” greeting and the CD trial discs — so many CDs — made the announcement on its website. “AOL routinely evaluates its products and services and has decided to discontinue Dial-up Internet. This service will no longer be available in AOL plans,” the web provider said. Absent the wireless signals of the modern day, dial-up connected to the...
