The Environmental Protection Agency on Wednesday granted two requests from California to enforce strict standards for vehicle emissions, including a rule aimed at banning sales of new gasoline-powered cars in the state by 2035. The incoming Trump administration is likely to try to reverse the action. The California rule is stricter than a federal rule adopted this year that tightens emissions standards but does not require sales of electric vehicles. EPA said its review found that opponents of the two waivers did not meet their legal burden to show how either the EV rule or a separate measure on heavy-duty...

Obama is over. What will the Dems do next? In 2024, Barack Obama was on the ballot. The two Democratic presidential nominees, one of whom he ousted, was his former VP and the other had made herself over in his image. The campaign and policy operations of both Kamala and Biden were staffed with Obamanites. And it was Obama who really lost the 2024 election. Not just Obama, but Obamacrats, a party that championed every leftist policy and that turned over its policymaking apparatus to radical donor-groups, a congressional delegation whose younger members, especially the Squad, embodied multicultural transgressive hipness,...

But even more than that, Trump’s desire to take Greenland peacefully for the United States makes strategic sense. Not only is it rich in natural resources, but its position along the Arctic Circle—and its relatively weak posture—make it a tempting target for American rivals, notably China, seeking to gain access to those abundant natural resources of the Arctic. Of course, China is not an Arctic power. Unlike the United States, Canada, and Russia, China has no natural boundary touching the Arctic. Yet, the Chinese insist they are or should be an Arctic power. And, as I reported at my website...

Protests have broken out in Syria over the burning of a Christmas tree near the city of Hama. A video posted on social media showed masked gunmen setting fire to the tree on display in the main square of the Suqaylabiyah, a Christian-majority town in central Syria. The main Islamist faction which led the uprising that toppled President Bashar al-Assad said the men responsible for the arson were foreign fighters and had been detained. Thousands of demonstrators took to the streets across the country - through Damascus, Suqaylabiyah and Hama - demanding the new Islamist rulers protect religious minorities.

“That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord” (Philippians 2:10-11). All rational beings will acknowledge Christ as Lord. Philippians 2:10-11 affirms that the whole intelligent universe is called to worship Christ. They are specified as those “in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth” (v. 10). “Those who are in heaven” consist of two groups: God’s holy angels and the spirits of the redeemed believers (who await the resurrection of their bodies). Those...

An interactive map has revealed a disturbing pattern in drone sightings across the US. An unexplained drone invasion has targeted America's military bases worldwide since October, beginning with a swarm over Langley Air Force Base in Virginia. The pattern became evident when similar activity was reported over New Jersey's Picatinny Arsenal on November 18. Less than one week later, US bases in England and Germany began grappling with incursions by 'small unmanned aerial systems.' Back in America sightings were gaining traction. 'Multiple' instances of drones appeared over New Jersey's Navy weapons station, and Ohio's Wright-Patterson Air Force Base closed its...

The Republican-led House Judiciary Committee took aim at a group of US asset managers over their involvement with a “woke ESG cartel” — adding pressure against environmental efforts by large investors. The committee, chaired by Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, sent letters to 60 firms — including BlackRock, State Street and JPMorgan Asset Management — that are members of the Net Zero Asset Managers initiative, or NZAM, an international group of investors that signed on to a pledge to achieve net zero emissions by 2050. The letters, sent Friday, made claims in line with a committee report released on Dec. 13...

(NewsNation) — Americans’ fascination and frustration levels with mysterious drone sightings continue to grow although the number of reports involving unidentified objects has dipped in the past few days. Federal agencies like the FBI have not provided definitive answers about where the drones are coming from. The agencies continue to maintain that the drones are not the property of the U.S. military and that there is no reason for concern about the objects being operated by foreign governments. Last week, the Federal Aviation Administration temporarily banned drones in certain parts of New York and New Jersey, where Democratic Gov. Phil...

Democrats around the country are still licking their wounds after last month’s stinging election defeat — but the party might be sailing toward an even bigger iceberg. New research from progressive polling outfit Navigator Research shows the party’s reputation is in tatters even among previous backers, who have come to view the Dems as weak, obsessed with “woke” initiatives such DEI and overly accommodating to the elites at the expense of the middle class. They’re “not a friend of the working class anymore,” a respondent wrote. Navigator at one point asked participants to compare the Democratic Party to an animal....

Jurors have found Umar Zameer not guilty of all criminal charges, including first-degree murder, in the death of Toronto police officer Det.-Const. Jeffrey Northrup nearly three years ago. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) confirmed that Fernando Jimenez-Jimenez, 31, was a Mexican citizen. An ICE spokesperson said Jimenez entered the United States twice in 2019 “and was returned to Mexico on an order of expedited removal.” The spokesperson also said Jimenez applied for admission to the U.S. on Jan. 24, 2020 in Brownsville, Texas but never appeared for his immigration hearing nearly two years later on Dec. 2, 2021. An...
