Hamas has posted another video aiming to pressure Israel into softening its positions during negotiations for a ceasefire and a potential prisoner exchange that would return hostages in exchange for the release of prisoners. In the video, Hamas alleges that since October 7, 2023, 33 Israeli hostages have been killed in the Gaza Strip, with others injured. Hamas attributes full responsibility for these deaths to the Israeli government, including in the cases where Israel alleges that the hostages were killed in cold blood by Hamas. "Occupation prisoners were killed in Gaza due to the war criminal Netanyahu's lack of compromise...

I’ve just watched the film Bread and Roses, co-produced by actress Jennifer Lawrence and Nobel Laureate Malala Yousefzai, and directed by Sahra Mani. If only American women were half as brave as the on-camera real-life women activists in Kabul! We see them willing to risk being beaten, arrested, tortured, and even murdered by the Taliban because they’ve dared to demonstrate for “Work, Bread, and Education.” Wearing hijab, but naked-faced, identifiable, these heroes march, chant, hold placards aloft, scrawl their demands on walls and even on the snow, meet secretly — and continue to do so even as the Taliban death-threatens,...

The current transition struggle exemplifies the danger of allowing the permanent bureaucratic state to accrue power unchecked. The PTA (Presidential Transition Act) was passed by Congress to assist the incoming president because it was deemed critical to national security that the new administration be as prepared as possible. Instead, it has become yet another instrument by which the unelected wield power over the elected. Trump’s strategy is to stand firm—to reject the idea that the GSA, FBI, or DOJ have any right to dictate the terms under which he assumes office. His limited MOU with the GSA is a testament...

A presidential pardon notwithstanding, the Biden family may yet face accountability from Congress and the executive branch, government watchdog groups say. In fact, President Joe Biden’s blanket pardon of son Hunter Biden could provide more leverage for Congress to investigate other Biden family members, said Mike Davis, founder of the Article III Project, a conservative legal group. “President Biden’s pardon of his son Hunter means that Hunter can no longer invoke his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination,” Davis, Republicans’ former chief counsel for nominations on the Senate Judiciary Committee, told The Daily Signal in a telephone interview Monday. Hunter Biden...

If you have kids or ever were a kid yourself, you know that Barbie and G.I. Joe don't have genitalia. But wouldn't it be great if you could slap a penis on Barbie? The University of Minnesota is working with transgender and gender-diverse artists to make that possible with their line of "MyGender Dolls." They're very inclusive: they come in all skin tones and body types, along with lots and lots of clothing options. The university is looking to expand the program, as they explain in the fundraising video below: BREAKING: @UMNews is rolling out a project called “MyGender Dolls”...

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has restricted all drone flights over the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey. The FAA’s move comes after residents of northern New Jersey spotted mysterious drones in the night sky throughout November. The ban on flying drones over Trump National Golf Club was initiated on November 22 and will last until December 6. Any unauthorized drone flying over the Picatinny Arsenal Military Base in Rockaway is also included in the drone flying ban.

The more I think about Joe Biden's pardon of his bagman/tax-cheat son, Hunter, the angrier I get — but maybe not for the reason you think. As I'm sure you're well aware by now, père Biden's blanket pardon forgives all of Hunter's transgressions going back ten years, when father (then vice president) and son were both playing footsie with Vladimir Putin's old cronies in Kyiv. Burisma? Pardoned. Million-dollar tax evasion? Ditto. Gun offenses, all of it. Then there's the Big Lie because it isn't Joe Biden without one. "No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter’s cases can...

Ancient pollen and charcoal remains uncovered from islands north of Tasmania (Lutruwita) suggest that human fire management practices were happening in the region 41,600 years ago. This predates the oldest archaeological evidence of people in Tasmania by roughly 2,000 years. The study, published in Science Advances, draws on 2 sediment records collected from islands in the Bass Strait. These islands were once part of a land bridge connecting Tasmania to the Australian mainland, as part of the ancient continent of Sahul. When the Palawa/Pakana communities arrived, current archaeological records suggest that they would have been the southernmost people in the world. The researchers, guided by...

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Daniel J. Castro, a former doctor at Bronson Battle Creek, will spend the next five years in federal prison for a healthcare fraud scheme, according to the U.S. Department of Justice. Last week, Lindy Li, a Democrat megadonor who served on the DNC finance committee, said that no one from the Kamala Harris campaign is taking responsibility for the absolutely massive amount of campaign cash that vanished into thin air in a matter of weeks. Now, she is calling for a formal accounting of where the money went. She claims that certain individuals involved in the Harris campaign became millionaires overnight. She suggests that it was basically a case of friends taking care of other friends. James Carville also recently called for an audit of the Harris campaign. They are both...

Dozens of Syrian government troops have been filmed surrendering to rebels after they were abandoned by their comrades at a town south of Aleppo. The men are filmed being led at gunpoint by rebel fighters who shout at the prisoners and chant, “Allahu Akbar”. The prisoners, who are not wearing military uniforms, run across sand dunes towards a group of buildings with their hands behind their heads. They were captured after being left behind by retreating Assad forces near the town of Khanaser, some 50 miles southeast of Aleppo, which was seized by rebels on Saturday. Since the shock rebel...

President-elect Trump suggested to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau last week that if a tariff for failing to address trade and immigration issues would kill the neighbor to the north’s economy, maybe it should become the 51st state, sources told Fox News. Last Friday, Trudeau flew to Mar-a-Lago unannounced after Trump threatened to impose sweeping tariffs on Canadian products. Specifically, Trump is threatening to impose 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico over their failures to curb the flow of illegal immigrants and illicit drugs from those countries into the U.S. Now, new details are beginning to emerge about the meeting...

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Monday indicated that bipartisan negotiations to avert the threat of a government shutdown this month are “on the right track,” but he warned against “divisive” provisions. Schumer said from the Senate floor that both parties are “making progress negotiating on a bill that can pass the House and Senate with bipartisan support.” “We need to keep divisive and unnecessary provisions out of any government funding extension, or else it will get harder to pass a [continuing resolution] in time,” he said. “For now, I’m pleased negotiations are on the right track, and I...

Some friends are forever, and a few people are lucky enough to have pictures to show for it. A group of four women from the UK traveled to a seaside resort in Torquay, Devon, England, in 1972. During their time there, a photographer snapped a picture of them walking arm in arm on the promenade. Now, the four of them have reunited over half a century later to recreate that heartwarming image. Carol Ansbro, Marion Bamforth, Susan Morris, and Mary Helliwell, from Halifax, had the time of their lives on that trip. “Our first holiday in Torquay was truly amazing,”...

Dec 2 (Reuters) - California’s Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom on Monday announced he is seeking up to $25 million in additional funding for legal fights with the incoming administration of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. The announcement came on the first day of a special session of the California legislature dedicated to preparing the liberal state for the second term of conservative Trump. If approved by the legislature, the California Department of Justice and state agencies would get the extra funding for court battles in areas such as reproductive rights, environmental protection and immigration. California Attorney General Rob Bonta, also a...
