Dozens of Syrian government troops have been filmed surrendering to rebels after they were abandoned by their comrades at a town south of Aleppo.
The men are filmed being led at gunpoint by rebel fighters who shout at the prisoners and chant, “Allahu Akbar”.
The prisoners, who are not wearing military uniforms, run across sand dunes towards a group of buildings with their hands behind their heads.
They were captured after being left behind by retreating Assad forces near the town of Khanaser, some 50 miles southeast of Aleppo, which was seized by rebels on Saturday.
Since the shock rebel offensive began last week, several videos have circulated showing government troops being taken prisoner by rebel forces.
One unverified video shows a Syrian rebel executing a group of government troops at the side of the road, while another shows a detainee being forced to bark like a dog.

Rebels or terrorists you make the call
Once upon a time McCain and Graham partied with these “rebels”
Also known as “ liver eaters”
Adapted from Johnny Cash song
Johnny Yuma The Rebel
Abdul Yumir was an Assad rebel
He roamed through the west
And Abdul Yumir, the rebel
He wandered alone
He got fightin’ mad
This rebel lad
He packed no Muslim star
As he wandered far
Where the only law
Was a pipe bomb and a draw
He searched the land
This restless lad
He was panther quick
And leather tough
‘Cause he figured that
He had been pushed enough
The rebel, Abdul Yumir
was fightin’ mad.
Those aren’t soldiers, they don’t have any uniforms or equipment.

they knew they’d have it bad.
It’s hard to celebrate Assad losing ground and soldiers (despite his mostly despotic dictatorial leadership and close work with Russian and Iran), when those pushing gaining ground are literally re-branded AlQaida militia who are hard-core sharia law pushers and who have a history of killing Christians, destroying churches, and raping women...
And is reminder #8,934,132 why we simply cannot get involved in picking “winners” because there are no “good guys” in this.
Even more frustrating - Assad is semi-tolerant of Christianity... (as was Saddam Hussein of Iraq).
Assad is the lesser evil. He is secular, and he can be brought to a negotiating side.
“Allahu Akbar”
Tells you all you need to know.
Probably from Iran.
