LONDON (AP) — A High Court judge on Monday upheld the British government’s emergency ban on puberty blockers, saying a study that found “very substantial risks and very narrow benefits” of the treatment supported the restriction as potentially being harmful. Justice Beverley Lang said a review commissioned by England’s National Health Service concluded that gender care is an area of “remarkably weak evidence” and young people have been caught up in a “stormy social discourse.” The group TransActual and a youth who cannot be named under a court order sought to challenge the decision of former Health secretary Victoria Atkins...

On Monday, Joe Biden allegedly plans to announce several dramatic new proposals to permanently change the nature of the Supreme Court, in an unprecedented assault on the Constitution. Politico reports that the reforms, first hinted at during Biden’s Oval Office address to the nation last week on his historic decision not to run for re-election, will include term limits for Supreme Court justices and a new code of ethics, among other radical proposals. “I’m going to call for Supreme Court reform, because this is critical to our democracy,” said Biden during his widely-panned address, when the 81-year-old president once again...

Cosmos Magazine reports that 42,000-year-old evidence of human occupation has been identified at the site of Elivavan in southeast Indonesia's Tanimbar Islands. "Along with tiny fragments of pottery we also found evidence of things like bones, shells, and sea urchins that point to the island's role as a hub for early maritime activities," said Hendri Kaharudin of Australian National University. Kaharudin and his colleagues suggest the site is situated along a possible southern route traveled by prehistoric migrants to the region of the paleocontinent known as Sahul, which includes what are now Papua New Guinea and Australia. "This island-hopping strategy...

Despite claiming he is against illegal immigrants voting in our elections, Democratic candidate for the US Senate from Arizona Rep. Ruben Gallego voted against the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act. He called the SAVE Act "too heavy handed in its approach. It would require voters to verify their citizenship in order to be given a ballot. My alternative Voting Clarity Act is a friendlier option." Gallego said "my Voting Clarity Act would require that immigrants applying for asylum be reminded that they cannot vote unless they are citizens. Those applying for asylum are expressing an intent to remain in...

In the nearly 10 months since Hamas attacked Israel, killing over 1,200 and kidnapping over 200, we’ve seen sharp lines between those who support Israel and those who back Hamas. Protesters have engaged in violence and vandalism to push for a free Palestine, even though Palestine isn’t a real nation. We hear concern for the plight of the innocent citizens of Gaza (and rightly so), while those expressing outrage often ignore that Hamas repeatedly puts civilians in harm’s way. Is all of this conflict in service of a political entity or a terrorist organization? Hamas tries to position itself as...

From Bloomberg News comes this report:Summers Says GOP Fiscal Plans Set US Up for ‘Liz Truss Moment’Republican politicians are setting the US up for a ‘Liz Truss moment’ by promoting policies that would widen fiscal deficits and weaken the dollar,...
