On April 8, for precisely four minutes and 27 seconds, the moon will pass in front of the sun blocking out all light — a total solar eclipse. The last time this kind of galactic display occurred was in 2017, and although eclipses like this do happen once every 18 months or so, they're usually not visible to people on land. Of course, what would a global scientific wonder be without an appropriate accompanying playlist? Below, we've laid out 30 Eclipse Songs to jam out to while the moon does its thing.

UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron will warn the U.S. it is risking the West’s security by holding up a new package of aid for Ukraine when he visits Washington, DC, next week. He will issue his caution during a meeting with Mike Johnson, the House of Representatives speaker, urging him to stop his fellow Republicans from blocking the funding and let U.S. taxpayer funds flow. The move will come a week after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Kyiv will lose the war against Russia if the U.S. fails to approve funds and direct military aid to battle Moscow’s invasion, as...

CAIRO, Wednesday, April 6. The steamer Atlantic, with New-Orleans dates of the 29th of March, has arrived here. The election in Louisiana, on the 28th, for delegates to the Constitutional Convention, resulted in the complete triumph of the Free-State party. The steamer J.H. Russell, with seven hundred bales of cotton and a quantity of cattle and hogs, was consumed by fire at night, at Pequermine. The steamer was on her passage from Vicksburgh to New-Orleans, and took fire from the sparks of her torches. The mails from Alexandria, together with the dispatches of Gen. LEE to the headquarters of the...

Below is my column in the New York Post on the recent rebuke of the Justice Department by a federal judge in a hearing on the refusal to comply with House subpoenas in the Biden corruption investigation. The Justice Department appears little concerned over the glaring disconnect in how it treats its own attorneys as opposed to other citizens — a pattern that we have discussed previously. Here is the column: “Are you kidding me?” Those are four words that no lawyer wants to hear from a judge in a hearing. But that was not the least of it for...

“America’s Navy values diversity, equality and inclusivity,” the woke Navy leadership claims. “We believe that when a diverse group of individuals come together to do a job, they can do it better because of their differences.” The Year of Hate helped accelerate the woke destruction of the US Navy. Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Michael Gilday announced that he wanted to change the Navy. While the title of the video of his remarks was “One Team, One Navy”, its divisive message was that the Navy was racist and only “conversations” about race would help. Gilday “shared” videos of naval personnel...

On March 11, 2024, Dr. John Lott debated the eminent law professor Sanford Levinson on the subject: Was the Second Amendment a Mistake? The debate lasted about an hour. It was held at the University of Wisconsin and started at 6:30 p.m. The debate was sponsored by the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (ISI). The moderator was Professor Ryan Owens.Unlike much of what we see in politics, the debate was cordial and civilized. There was no student protest to prevent Dr. Lott from being able to debate Professor Levinson. Dr. Lott is an eminent scholar on gun control issues. Dr. Levison is...

Former President Donald Trump on Monday announced his position on whether abortion should be banned, following months of not taking a stance on the combustible and crucial issue in his 2024 rematch with President Biden. The presumptive Republican presidential nominee took to his social media platform on Sunday night to say that he would issue a statement on "abortion and abortion rights." In video posted Monday morning, Trump explicitly affirmed his support for in vitro fertilization (IVF) and he emphasized his support for states determining their own laws for abortion so long as there are exceptions for rape, incest and...

Austin — There have been recent and inaccurate reports about the voter registration process and ID requirements in Texas. Please see the statement from Secretary of State Jane Nelson below. "It is totally inaccurate that 1.2 million voters have registered to vote in Texas without a photo ID this year. The truth is our voter rolls have increased by 57,711 voters since the beginning of 2024. This is less than the number of people registered in the same timeframe in 2022 (about 65,000) and in 2020 (about 104,000). When Texans register to vote, they must provide a driver license number...

Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem (4/8/24)[Prayer]The Names and Titles of God (My Fathers’ God)Exodus 15:1-315 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.2 The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.3 The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name. The King James...

The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), along with other members of the U.S. intelligence community, are pushing for Congress to expand Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 in order to fight the ongoing fentanyl crisis.According to the Brennan Center of Justice, Section 702, “Authorizes the government to collect the communications of non-Americans located abroad without a warrant from a court. While this surveillance is supposed to target foreigners, it inevitably sweeps in Americans’ private phone calls, emails, and text messages too.” (snip) However, CIA officials believe in its current form, Section 702 limits the intelligence community from...

“He who was betraying Him gave them a sign, saying, ‘Whomever I shall kiss, He is the one; seize Him.’ And immediately he came to Jesus and said, ‘Hail, Rabbi!’ and kissed Him. And Jesus said to him, ‘Friend, do what you have come for’” (Matthew 26:48-50). Judas Iscariot, in his attitudes and actions, is a classic example of the false believer. As one of the Twelve, Judas was extremely disappointed at the kind of Messiah Jesus turned out to be. Instead of teaching the disciples how to conquer and control, Jesus taught them how to submit and serve. Any...

A San Francisco supervisor wants to require grocery stores to provide six months of notice before closing a location A San Francisco lawmaker introduced a proposal that would require grocery stores in the city to provide six months of notice before closing a store and to explore a replacement supermarket at the vacated location. Dean Preston, a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, introduced what he calls the Grocery Protection Act – which is based on a proposal the board approved in 1984 that was vetoed by then-San Francisco Mayor Dianne Feinstein. Preston's proposal would require grocery store...

The long-awaited Great Fundamental Transformation finally got its moment, crashed, and now has torched the nation—middle-class Americans most of all. In 2021, Joe Biden was elected after a bitterly fought campaign that deposed the incumbent Donald Trump. Democrats eventually captured, for a time, both the House and Senate, ensuring the most left-wing government in modern American history. Americans were then set to witness a great experiment. For the first time in their lives, a truly radical socialist program would supposedly fundamentally transform the way America dealt with the border, immigration, the economy, race relations, foreign policy, energy, law enforcement, crime,...

US airline regulators have launched an investigation after an engine cowling on a Boeing plane fell off during takeoff and struck the wing flap, the latest in a series of safety problems facing the aircraft manufacturer. The trial for a 54-year-old Prior Lake man accused of killing a teen and stabbing four others on the Apple River in Wisconsin nearly two years ago began on Monday. Like the prophets of old, Stanley Kurtz warned of the evil mongers in America, but sadly, no one seemed to heed his dire warning. In his 2012 book titled Spreading the Wealth: How Obama is Robbing the Suburbs to Pay for the Cities, Kurtz painstakingly detailed Obama’s and, now by extension, Biden’s nefarious plans to destroy the suburbs. The ever-stealthy Obama has been assiduously working on the goal of abolishing America’s suburbs ever since his days as a community activist. Although state laws may discourage involuntary annexation of suburbs, there are three key changes that will end the dream of...
