The current heat wave is being relentlessly blamed on increasing levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, but there is a much more plausible explanation, one that is virtually endorsed by two of the world’s leading scientific organizations. It turns out that levels of water vapor in the atmosphere have dramatically increased over the last year-and-a-half, and water vapor is well recognized as a greenhouse gas, whose heightened presence leads to higher temperatures, a mechanism that dwarfs any effect CO2 may have.

Biden: “Its my Presidency and I’ll lie if I want to.” As well as demolish the economy to serve his Progressive green energy agenda. One of the casualties? Yellow trucking. Carrier Yellow Corp. ceased all operations at 12 p.m. Sunday, according to a notice on the gates at its terminals. Its stock price is now sub $1. Separate internal documents showed the procedures for closing the facilities as well as “talking points” to be used when informing union employees not to show up for their shifts. The documents indicated the company plans to issue a public statement Monday updating “the...

By way of Corinth and Cincinnati, we have a number of rebel journals -- among them Mobile and Atlanta papers -- which furnish us the following interesting extracts: From the Memphis-Grenada-Jackson-Atlanta Appeal. Since the fall of Vicksburgh, a shadow of gloom seems to have settled upon the countenances of many, and their hopes of triumph to have suffered at least a temporary eclipse. A calm and impartial survey of the past, and comparison of our then with our present situation, and a glance at our future prospects, we think cannot tail to dispel such despondency. Twelve months ago Richmond was...

Wearing her own red one-piece, the 'Charlie's Angels' star posed for the now-famous image in her Los Angeles backyard. For Farrah Fawcett, 1976 was a big year. Besides achieving breakout success on the small screen as one of Charlie's Angels, that was the year her iconic swimsuit poster was released. This pinup poster, which showcased Fawcett's wholesome beauty and sex appeal, would be prominently placed on millions of bedroom and dorm room walls across the United States and around the world. Explored in the special Biography: Farrah Fawcett Forever, it also became a defining feature of the 1970s and is...

The driver of an SUV appeared to intentionally plow into a group of migrant workers — wounding all six — outside a Walmart in North Carolina Sunday afternoon, authorities said. The workers were all taken to a nearby hospital with various injuries after 1 p.m., though none of their wounds seemed to be life-threatening, the Lincolnton Police Department said in a news release. The suspect behind the wheel in what police called an “intentional assault with a vehicle” has yet to be identified and remains at large.

Ukrainian forces have recaptured nearly 15 square km (5.8 square miles) of land from Russian troops in the east and south over the past week during their counteroffensive, a senior defence official said on Monday. Kyiv's forces have now retaken 204.7 sq km in the south since they launched a major push against Russian forces early last month, Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Maliar said on the Telegram messaging app. Ukrainian officials have reported slow, steady progress in the counteroffensive, retaking a string of villages and advancing on the flanks of the eastern city of Bakhmut, which Russian forces captured in...

As the Nashville mayor's race hurtles toward Election Day on Thursday, there's increasing concern among the city's Democratic establishment and some business leaders that Republican Alice Rolli will qualify for the runoff election. A slate of recent polling shows Rolli either in second place or close to it. It's a razor-thin margin between three candidates for second place, polls say. Only the top two candidates advance to the runoff, set for Sept. 14. State of play: Nashville voters are reliably Democratic, but with the liberal vote splintered, Rolli has an opening to consolidate enough conservative support to leapfrog the field....

In the wake of the latest drone attack on Moscow, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that it is “absolutely fair” for his forces to attack targets within the Russian mainland. During a visit to the western Ukrainian city of Ivano-Frankivsk on Sunday, President Zelensky tacitly confirmed that Ukraine was behind the most recent drone strikes on Moscow this weekend, one of which was shot down and two of which crashed into an office building causing some damage. Although no injuries were reported, it appears that Zelensky is intent on bringing the war closer to home for those in the Russian...

The PJM fuel mix is balanced and diversified between different fuel types and we have adequate generation resources to serve the anticipated needs of our system today. However, as we look further out, maintaining an adequate level of generation resources will be essential for PJM’s ability to reliably serve electrical demand through the energy transition. Our recent analysis observed four trends that increase the risk that we may have difficulty maintaining such an adequate level of generation resources with the necessary attributes over time.1: The rate of electricity demand is likely to continue to increase from electrification and increasing deployment...

On July 18, Judge Mark T. Pittman of the Northern District of Texas, Fort Worth Division, ruled the plaintiffs in the case of Ken Paxton v. Gary M. Restaino (Previously Dettleback, the case name changes with the name of the head of the ATF) have no standing to pursue the lawsuit, because they have not suffered concrete harm. The case is dismissed without prejudice, which means it can be refiled with new evidence. The case is the result of the passage of Texas bill HB 957. The bill required the Attorney General of Texas to file a lawsuit challenging the...

Pray For The Peace of JerusalemJohn 1The Word Became Flesh 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it. 6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness to testify...

Imagine if Gavin Newsom was currently Vice President amid the final meltdown of the Biden family consortium. Does anyone doubt that Biden would then either be forced to resign by Democratic politicos (for reasons in addition to his escalating dementia), or would be impeached and perhaps abdicate Nixon-style? The presence of the now predictable mediocrity of Kamala Harris and the impossibility, given her race and gender, of removing her, for now is about all that keeps a cognitively declining Biden still in office. The Left fears what she could do as president to the Democratic Party; conservatives are terrified of...

More than four decades since law enforcement found the remains of a young woman on the side of a Texas highway, her remains have been identified, Bastrop County Sheriff's Office announced at a news conference on Thursday. The woman was found in Elgin, Texas, when law enforcement was driving by. She was wearing a white shirt with red neck trim and dark blue jeans, according to DNA Solves, which helps crowdfund identification investigations. Her name was Kathy Ann Smith. She was just 22 years old, almost 23, at the time of her murder, the sheriff's office said. Investigators at the...

A “mass shooting” at a block party in Muncie, Indiana early Sunday left one person dead and at least 19 others injured. Dispatchers received a call for multiple people shot in the area of S. Hackley St. and E. Willard St. around 1:14 a.m. Initial information was that there was a “large party” at this location. The hour is late for “Joe Biden.” His sojourn in America’s highest office was one long twilight of pretending to be effectual, or merely present, and now even that abject pantomime slips into a place of nullity, where all is still and dark. What does he do these languorous weekends at the fabled Delaware beach house? Stare out at the empty Atlantic horizon over an uneaten egg salad sandwich with the crusts cut off? Does he even suspect that the world is already turning without him? The pressure is mounting for some group of somebodies to arrange his exit from...

On July 27 (last Thursday), Representative James Comer of Kentucky appeared on Senator Ted Cruz’s podcast. Comer is the Chair of the House Oversight Committee, and the guy who has subpoenaed, and little-by-little is getting, the bank records of transfers from foreign governments to Biden family companies. Late that evening, Twitchy posted about an 8 minute clip from the podcast of Comer discussing some of the things his subpoenas had uncovered. Comer particulrly discusses one large payment from a Chinese government-connected entity, much of which went to various Bidens. Separately on the same day, July 27, Representative Jim Jordan of...
