Endocrine-disrupting chemicals, also known as EDCs, are natural or human-made substances that interfere with the healthy functioning of the body’s endocrine system. The endocrine system is made up of glands throughout the body, along with the hormones that these glands produce and receptors that respond to the hormones. Endocrine glands include the pituitary, thymus, pancreas and adrenals. Hormones act like messengers, traveling through the body to deliver instructions that control biological processes ranging from growth and development to sleep, digestion and childbirth. Humans have more than 50 hormones. These include estrogen and testosterone, which help to control sexual development, as...

Long-running research into the omega-3 transporter protein Mfsd2a has shown that it plays a key role in a specific mechanism that prevents the liver from storing too much fat from food. This latest study signals the possibility that a dietary supplement could be developed to help prevent non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Eating too much fatty food increases the risk of many health problems, including cardiovascular disease, obesity, diabetes and NAFLD. The excess fat that accumulates in the liver during the onset of NAFLD leads to inflammation and progressive deterioration and scarring, called cirrhosis of the liver. The rate of...

[Catholic Caucus] How to Plant Christendom In Your Parish Community Next YearThere is a shift among faithful Catholics – it is the desire to renew their faith through prayers, penance, and fasting. The desire to grow closer to God is beyond anything the superficial world can offer the soul. Yet, the spiritual world combined with the natural world can offer quite a penitential and cleansing experience. On May 27-29th, around 16,000 pilgrims traveled on foot from the Church of Saint-Sulpice in Paris (originally, it began at the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris before it burned) to the Cathedral of...

Tick-Tock Sean Hannity has been a member of the right-side media control group for a long time. We all know this here, and almost no one can tolerate watching the pontificating nonsense – nor do they. However, it is only with the assist from the 2024 Murdoch agenda to promote RFK Jr. as an alternative for MAGA Democrats, that Hannity’s mask simply drops. So, this is a good thing. These types of revelations are always good, and perhaps now the Trump family will quit entertaining Hannity as something other than the control officer for the financial group behind the corporate...

Michael Cohen, a former personal attorney for Donald Trump, said Wednesday on MSNBC’s “The Beat” that the former president was “panicking inside” over the legal cases he is facing. Guest anchor Katie Phang asked, “Michael, Trump obviously he wears his emotions on his sleeve as he’s quick to demonize law enforcement and the DOJ, including Jack Smith. Privately, though, what is Donald Trump saying to the people in his immediate orbit about the prospect of actually doing jail time for his crimes?”

Sen. Chris Coons wrote in The News Journal last year that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was unprovoked. Surprisingly, the Senator either did not see or did not understand the multiple ways that actions by the U.S., NATO and the current government of Ukraine threatened Russia’s security and provoked the invasion. By moving NATO missile bases (which can instantaneously switched into offensive mode) right up to the Russian border in Poland and Romania, and stating repeatedly that Ukraine would join NATO, which could bring NATO missiles within 6 minutes of Moscow, the U.S. and NATO created severe threats to Russia’s national security.

Serial liar Adam Schiff lashed out at McCarthy and House Republicans for floating an impeachment inquiry of Joe Biden. McCarthy this week said the House of Representatives is readying for the impeachment of Joe Biden. “This is rising to the level of impeachment inquiry…something we haven’t seen since Richard Nixon, [Joe Biden] used the weaponization of government to benefit his family and deny Congressional oversight,” McCarthy said. An Axios article is delivered to present the contrast between Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis around small donor contributions to highlight the scale of grassroot support for Trump over DeSantis. However, there’s a buried lead in there. According to the article, “82% of the total raised from individual contributions by Trump’s campaign since the start of the year came from small-dollar donors — amounting to more than $44 million, according to FEC data.” A few paragraphs later, “Biden’s re-election campaign raised roughly $10 million during the second quarter from donors giving less than $200.” Put another way, President Trump has...

A federal appeals court panel has halted next month’s planned execution of a 45-year-old Missouri man convicted of killing a 6-year-old girl, though the state is appealing the ruling. The three-judge panel of the 8th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Tuesday voted 2-1 to stop the execution of Johnny Johnson, who is scheduled to receive a lethal injection next Tuesday at the state prison in Bonne Terre for killing Casey Williamson after trying to sexually assault her in 2002. The Missouri Attorney General’s Office responded by asking that the full 8th Circuit court reconsider the case, which will likely...

That global elites are pushing us to eat insects instead of fish, pigs, cows, and chicken to “save the climate” is a “right-wing conspiracy theory,” as National Public Radio recently called it. And those pushing the idea are “right-wing conspiracy theorists,” most likely “anti-Semites” or “4 Chan” nutters. But a funny thing happened on the way to the cricket farm. NPR’s editors forgot that years of “we-must-eat-insects” propaganda preceded NPR’s latest smear of normal people who don’t relish consuming arthropods. Ditto for other media reports. Some say the plan to force us to eat mealworms is a “conspiracy.” Others say...

An attempted coup was underway Wednesday in the fragile nation of Niger, where members of the Presidential Guard detained President Mohamed Bazoum, triggering a standoff with the army, sources said. The head of the West African bloc ECOWAS said Benin President Patrice Talon was heading to Niger on a mediation bid after the region was struck by a new bout of turbulence. The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the African Union both decried what they called an "attempted coup d'etat," while the UN secretary-general said he had spoken to the apparently-detained leader and offered support.

Do something! Fifty-four Democratic lawmakers from across New York City signed a letter on Wednesday demanding President Biden provide immediate assistance with the migrant crisis gripping their metropolis. Many of the signers — who represent some of the Big Apple’s largest immigrant communities — told the president they needed him to declare a federal state of emergency, expedite work authorization for migrants, fix the flow at the border, and provide more dollars to Gotham to handle the unrelenting influx of asylum seekers.

In a court filing last night, Rudy Giuliani admitted he lied about a key allegation that fueled the “Stop the Steal” movement in Georgia. Giuliani and others in Donald Trump’s post-election efforts accused two election workers — a mother and daughter — of manipulating ballots to wipe out Trump votes. A video of the ballot processing fueled this allegation, even though Georgia election officials insisted it showed nothing out of the ordinary.Giuliani admitted to making false statements in accusing the two women, who are suing him for defamation.
