Broome County Executive Jason Garnar will announce an executive order meant to ban lodging establishments from accepting asylum seekers on behalf of New York City, WSKG has confirmed. The announcement will bring Broome County in line with other counties including Orange, Rockland and Rensselaer, in issuing orders meant to prevent New York City from signing contracts with hotels to house asylum seekers in recent days. This comes as the U.S. braces for a major wave of asylum seekers to enter the country, as the federal COVID-19 emergency expires at midnight Thursday, and with it, Title 42, a Trump-era policy allowing...

Elon Musk shared a Federalist article on Twitter this week that detailed how “Zuckbucks” were used to influence the outcome of the 2020 election, and leftists are livid. On Tuesday, the Twitter CEO linked to an October 2021 article, written by Federalist contributor William Doyle, that examines how Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg gave hundreds of millions of dollars to nonprofits such as the Center for Tech and Civic Life (CTCL) and the Center for Election Innovation and Research (CEIR) leading up to the 2020 presidential contest. CTCL and CEIR then poured these “Zuckbucks” into local election offices in battleground states around...

Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., told Fox News Digital he will “make the border impervious” if elected president as Title 42 is set to expire tonight. The nephew of President John F. Kennedy pledged that, if elected president, he would “make the border impervious” to address the crisis at the southern border. “I will make the border impervious,” Kennedy said. “We cannot release people, illegal aliens across the border.”

Daniel Swift’s nerves were shot. By the start of 2019, his Navy SEAL colleagues said, he was hardly eating or sleeping. He had separated from his wife. A court had barred him from seeing his four children, and he was facing legal charges for false imprisonment and domestic battery. Mr. Swift told fellow SEALs in San Diego, where he was based, that he was planning to go to Africa to fight wildlife poachers. They brushed off the comment, convinced that Mr. Swift, a soldier’s soldier, would never abandon his post. A week later, he disappeared. Navy investigators searched for him,...

Nina Jankowicz, the former head of the Department of Homeland Security’s now disbanded Disinformation Governance Board, filed a defamation lawsuit against Fox News on Wednesday, weeks after the network settled with Dominion Voting Systems. “Fox’s employee hosts and commentators derided and lied about Jankowicz on repeat — and continue to do so even today, the lawsuit states. “Several of these falsehoods stand out as especially destructive — and directly contrary to available, verifiable evidence." The coverage led to "immediate online harassment and threats, which continue even now," according to the suit. Ms. Jankowicz, a prominent specialist in Russian disinformation and...

LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – A flesh-eating “zombie drug” called xylazine has been saturating the streets of Los Angeles with severe, deadly effects when mixed with illicit opioids. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s officials launched a new program to track the troubling prevalence of the substance, which is a sedative typically used by veterinarians to anesthetize animals. Also known as “tranq” or “tranq dope” on the streets, xylazine has become increasingly present in the illicit drug supply. The drug can be cooked down into a powder form and mixed with illicit opioids such as heroin and fentanyl or pressed into counterfeit pills...

Many major companies are “going woke” by advancing controversial progressive political ideas through their products or company policies. Having a major company like Disney, Target or Walmart express support for the LGBT movement or other ideas is starting to become cliché, as are the backlashes to their decisions. However, it might be surprising to learn that some of these very companies were either founded by devout Christians or have a history of appealing to conservative Christian culture. Here's a list of five major companies that have recently gone woke that have a Christian past. They include major retail stores, a...

Every ten minutes, a downtown San Francisco Target worker will reportedly see a theft. While multiple products, such as deodorant, are under lock and key at the Metreon mall Target and security guards in bright vests wander the store, thieves are not deterred, as first reported by the San Francisco Standard. A worker said that thieves are taking food, nail polish, liquor bottles, and even aluminum foil, which they allegedly use to smoke fentanyl. San Francisco saw a 40 percent jump in overdose deaths from January through March of this year, according to a press release from Gov. Gavin Newsom’s...

On Tuesday, a jury simultaneously rejected E. Jean Carroll’s allegations of rape against Donald Trump but held him responsible for sexual misconduct and defamation. One of the more curious aspects of this case was that the only reason Carroll was even able to sue Donald Trump was because of a law passed in New York in 2022 called the Adult Survivors Act. This legislation, signed by Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul, introduced a “one-year lookback window for survivors of sexual assault” to legally pursue their alleged abusers, irrespective of when the abuse took place. Many argued it was passed specifically to...

In May of 2021, the Duke Health System sent a draft “pledge” to the employee community, affirming that the organization “stands against racism, bias, and hate.” This pledge, since published on the Duke Health website, was signed by four medical doctors and one Ph.D. and included the assurance that the drafters were “guided by science.” Their fundamental reason for writing the pledge, and its fundamental claim, was that “racism is a public health crisis.” That had not been my experience, nor did it fit my observations, so I asked to see the clinical data the authors had used to form...

Russian authorities will launch construction of a village outside Moscow for conservative-minded Americans and Canadians next year, the state-run RIA Novosti news agency reported Thursday. Russia has for years positioned itself as a bastion of "traditional" values in contrast with Western liberalism as its relations with the West have deteriorated over its 2014 annexation of Crimea and 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Timur Beslangurov, a migration lawyer at Moscow’s VISTA Foreign Business Support, claimed that “around 200 families” wish to emigrate to Russia for “ideological reasons.” “The reason is propaganda of radical values: Today they have 70 genders, and who...

Chicago residents condemned local leadership last week for plans to house illegal immigrants in a shuttered high school in the neighborhood. Chicago is one of many cities overwhelmed by illegal immigrants seeking asylum amid crisis at America’s southern border. During a May 4 community meeting at South Shore International College Preparatory High School, local residents expressed their outrage at the proposal of housing hundreds of migrants in an already struggling area. “What’s important is that we really establish this is humanitarian crisis, and we are here,” Chicago chief engagement officer Nubia William said as the crowd jeered in opposition. “While...

While Americans are focusing on Bud Light and its uber-woke transgender marketing stunt, it should be remembered that nearly every major U.S. brand promulgates the LGBT agenda. To highlight that fact, the CEO of Levi's recently affirmed that his company is proud to push radical gender politics and is even expanding its "gender-fluid" line of clothing despite the backlash against Bud Light. Levi Strauss & Co. CEO Chip Bergh spoke at an Axios event in San Francisco on Wednesday where he was asked about the boycott against Bud for teaming with transgender TikTok star Dylan Mulvaney. "How do you market...

WASHINGTON - Death threats are a persistent part of U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar's life. "I have to have regular conversations with my kids: 'What happens if I am killed?'" Omar said in an interview. "I have to have regular conversations with them about how to walk down the street, things to look for." Since the Minneapolis Democrat won her congressional seat in 2018, two men have pleaded guilty to threatening to kill her. Omar's name, along with those of other prominent Democrats and some media figures, was found on a list put together by a man federal prosecutors warned "stockpiled...

A four-day school week is being proposed. This is probably one of the worst ideas ever (other than allowing the mutilation of children). American children are not reading at grade level, are not proficient at math at grade level, and are not being taught basics like civics and how to write using cursive. Soon no one will be able to read the original founding documents — the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, etc. Is this where we want our country to be? Who will be the creators, the inventors, the authors and great American thinkers we...
