A convicted felon who was on parole has been charged in a fatal shooting that occurred during a birthday party at a Portage Park bar over the weekend. Samuel Parsons-Salas, 32, of Chicago, faces three felony counts of first-degree murder, one felony count of attempted first-degree murder and one felony count of kidnapping.

The Biden administration is considering a major expansion of an asylum program that originally targeted Venezuelans, The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday night. A grand jury indicted a man on first degree murder charges for allegedly selling fake prescription drugs to a Hollywood woman. Melissa Hernandez was 21 years old when she lost her life in Sept. 2021. The body of a 23-year-old woman was found on Wednesday (Dec 14) in the ocean off Australia after she fell overboard from a cruise ship.
