NATO air defenses shot down an Iranian ballistic missile heading toward Turkish airspace, the country said Wednesday.
Launched from Iran, the missile passed through the airspace of Iraq and Syria before it was hit by NATO air defense systems and a fragment fell into the Dörtyol district of Hatay, according to Turkish spokesperson Burhanettin Duran.
No casualties or injuries have been reported.
“All institutions have monitored the process in real time and in full coordination, Duran said in a statement posted to X. “All necessary steps to defend Turkish territory and airspace will be taken without hesitation. . . . During this process, consultations and cooperation with NATO and other Allies will continue.”

Well, it was an Aegis system operating in the Eastern Med.
The only country with an Aegis system in the Eastern Med. is the USA.
Specifically it would be a U.S. Aegis destroyer from the Rota force—likely USS Paul Ignatius or USS Roosevelt.

The article is incorrect. A USN destroyer in the Med shot it down with an SM-3. They were not operating under a NATO chain of command, thus they are not “NATO”.
A NATO member was attacked.
All other NATO members are now obligated to respond.

It appears the missile was targeting Incirlik. The Iranian mullahs are wanting to bring about the thirteenth imam and cause the world to burn. Wait until they find out what is in store for them this weekend.
