The Bible In Paintings 2 ENCOURAGEMENT FOR APPRECIATING AND APPLYING GOD'S WORD ZECHARIAH'S FINAL FOUR VISIONS Z E C H A R I A H CHAPTERS 5&6 THE FLYING SCROLL I looked again—and there before me was a flying scroll! He asked me, “What do you see?” I answered, “I see a flying scroll, thirty feet long and fifteen feet wide.” And he said to me, “This is the curse that is going out over the whole land; for according to what it says on one side, every thief will be banished, and according to what it says on...

While in service, the USS Texas sailed through some of the globe’s most treacherous waters. The Texas is one of only eight ships to serve in both world wars. Its crew supported American troops on D-Day and on Iwo Jima. After being decommissioned, the Texas became a floating museum, docked beside the old San Jacinto Battleground near Houston. On Wednesday, the Texas will once again set out into open waters when a group of tugboats tows it to a dry dock in Galveston, where the ship will undergo extensive repairs on its hull as part of a long-term plan to...

Cashless FutureThe rise of centralized digital currency will be convenient—but at a cost.Fewer Americans are using cash. In 2019, almost a third of Americans said they never used cash to make purchases. More recently, only 16 percent of U.S. consumers said they carried cash, with 58 percent of respondents saying they planned to stop using cash completely. Cash, it appears, is no longer king. The death of cash comes at the same time as the death of banks. Last year, U.S. banks closed a record number of branches—nearly 4,000 in total. Since 2012, the rate of branch closures has been doubling...

It had been a long time since I had visited my alma mater, the U.S. Air Force Academy, so I decided to bite the bullet and travel to my 30th reunion last October. I must admit, I did so with trepidation. I have a love/hate relationship with the place. Although I received a fantastic education and met some lifelong friends, it’s a nice place to visit, if you know what I mean. I will say that I received top-notch military training and discipline when I went through three decades ago. In fact, the discipline that was drilled into me has...

Boland: “So, it's subtle. They [teachers I hire] will never say, ‘Oh, this is [a] liberal or a Democratic way of doing this.’ They'll just make that the norm -- and this is how we handle things, it's subtle…That's how you get away with it.”

God had promised Abraham that he would have a son, one who would become the seed of many nations. Remarkably, Abraham didn’t flinch at this promise, even though he was well past the age of siring children. The essence of true faith is found in this single verse. “And not being weak in faith, he [Abraham] did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb” (Romans 4:19, NKJV). To the natural mind, it was impossible for this promise to be fulfilled; but Abraham didn’t dwell on the...

“Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them” (Matthew 9:36). Examples in the gospels of Jesus’ compassion are notable. When He saw Mary and others weeping for the deceased Lazarus, “He was deeply moved in spirit and was troubled” (John 11:33) and wept with them (v. 35). The phrase “deeply moved in spirit” connotes physical as well as emotional and spiritual anguish. As He saw Lazarus’s friends and family grieving, He entered into real crying with them. When arrested in the garden, Christ was more concerned about the disciples than Himself: “If you [soldiers] seek Me, let these go their...

Beijing (AFP) – Nearly 150 cats bound for slaughterhouses have been rescued by police in eastern China, an international animal welfare organisation said. The animals were crammed into rusty cages when they were found by police in the eastern city of Jinan in Shandong province, Humane Society International (HSI) said in a statement Tuesday. Around 10 million dogs and four million cats are killed for human consumption each year in China, according to HSI. Dog and cat meat is considered a delicacy in some parts of China, and the trade in their flesh remains lucrative enough to spur criminal gangs...

Just in time for the Mid-Term election, a Sticker Shock: Natural Gas prices have gone through the roof!Preparing to lock in, I was staggered to see $1.24 Therm rate per year from the $.73 I am paying now. To see why, I looked up Biden Oil Drilling Tax rate. A 50% increase in tax on oil drilled on Federal lands (which is a huge part of the country). Thank you, President Biden and you Democrats for Hiking the Prices before the Mid-Term Election. Thank you for your spokesperson saying they are "Pressing the Accelerator" on Climate Change Activism: more taxes...

Here is the video of Biden Speaking from Pennsylvania on Tuesday 8/30/22. Biden: "For those brave right-wing Americans who say it's all about keeping Americans independent and safe, if you want to fight against a country you need an F-15. You need something a little more than a gun."

NEW YORK, NY — New York Governor Kathy Hochul recently informed New York Republicans that they're not welcome in her state. But lo, a chosen one of burnt papaya hue, Donald Trump, approached her and demanded that she let his people go. The Republicans' punishments then worsened, with Hochul ordering that they have to make bricks without any straw and severely increasing their tax burdens. Hochul refused to bow to any of the plagues Trump called down upon her, until he said every baby would be born in her state and could not be killed legally any longer. This she...

Lord, help me Jesus. It was announced last night that Joe Biden will give a primetime speech outside Independence Hall in Philadelphia on Thursday evening. The subject of the speech will be ““continued battle for the soul of the nation”. My hair hurts just reading that. How on Earth does a soulless meat sack propose to hector us on the soul of the nation? To paraphrase Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, are the Shades of Independence Hall to be thus polluted? The announcement of the primetime lecture comes as the Democrats are feeling better about their November chances since the student...

HEADQUARTERS FIELD OF BATTLE, GROVETON NEAR GAINESVILLE, Aug. 30, 1862. To Major-Gen. Hathel, General-in-Chief, Washington, D. C.: We fought a terrific battle here yesterday with the combined forces of the enemy, which lasted with continuous fury from daylight until after dark, by which time the enemy was driven from the field, which we now occupy. Our troops are too much exhausted to push matters, but I shall do so in the course of the morning, as soon as FITZ-JOHN PORTER's corps come up from Manassas. The enemy is still in our front, but badly used up. We have lost not...
