Why the Silence on Lockdowns? Not so long ago, those who opposed the strict Covid lockdowns that were imposed across the world in early 2020 were mocked, vilified, and censored. But shockingly, stopping the economy and shutting everyone in their homes failed to meaningfully slow the spread of the coronavirus in every country where it was tried.Unbeknownst to the vast majority of the public, these lockdowns were unprecedented in the western world and weren’t part of any democratic country’s pandemic plan prior to Xi Jinping’s lockdown of Wuhan, China. Worse yet, intelligence authorities have long since confirmed that the Chinese Communist...

Satisfying sequel hits nearly all the marks while outdoing the originalThe 1986 smash “Top Gun” was both a movie and a pop cultural moment. The latter mattered more, given the tenor of the times. President Ronald Reagan lived at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. NW D.C., and his confidence buoyed the nation. Pop hits like “Danger Zone” and “Take My Breath Away” crushed the Billboard charts, and rightly so.The film’s star, Tom Cruise, couldn’t be more movie-star handsome or powerful within the industry — even if 1985’s “Legend” showed his commercial vulnerability.“Top Gun” was the right movie at the right time, even if...

Employers need to brace themselves for a tsunami of mental health accommodation requests this summer - the most obvious being...

DHS “Disinformation Governance Board” Director Nina Jankowicz, better known as the Biden administration’s Minister of Truth, says Twitter should allow verified users like her to edit other users’ tweets to “add context.” Jankowicz caveated her comments by stating that Twitter had verified many “untrustworthy” people. In other words, if only people like Jankowicz were verified, the edting system would make sense. “I am eligible for it because I’m verified, but there are a lot of people who shouldn’t be verified who aren’t, you know, legit, in my opinion. I mean, they are real people, but they’re not, you know, trustworthy.”...

Democratic Senator Raphael Warnock looks as if he's headed for a tough race to defend his Georgia seat against GOP contender Herschel Walker in November's midterm. Walker, who has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump, won't be the Georgia Republican Party's official nominee until after May 24's primary. Recent polling shows that he's dominating the GOP field, however. A survey conducted by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in April had the former NFL player with nearly two-thirds of Republican voters' support, while all his opponents were in the single digits. Warnock hopes to hold on to his hard-won seat, which he...

Rep. Ted Budd (R-N.C.) is surging ahead of former North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory in the final stretch before the state’s Senate primary, according to a new poll from The Hill and Emerson College. In a 14-way primary match-up, Budd tops the field at 43 percent, while McCrory trails in a distant second place at 16 percent. The only other Republican in the race to notch double-digit support is former Rep. Mark Walker (R-N.C.), who sits at about 12 percent support. The poll suggests that Budd, who once trailed McCrory in early polls, is now the primary’s clear front-runner and...

Amidst the Omicron variant era of the pandemic, secondary disasters have been constantly taking place in many cities in communist China under strict lockdown. Some hospitals flat out refuse patients that don’t have a nucleic acid amplification Covid test report, leading to multiple deaths of people who could not receive treatment. What has caused these heartbreaking cases? And is the unimaginable happening in China a warning for the rest of the world? A shocking psychological experiment, the “Obedience Experiment” designed and conducted by psychologist Stanley Milgram, may be able to shed some light on this issue. The Hippocratic Oath: A...

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- “But she told me she was 16 years old.” Under a new criminal code being considered by the District of Columbia city council, that statement would be what is called “an affirmative defense to liability” for an adult who has sex with a minor. Put more plainly, an adult accused of sexual activity with a minor could avoid culpability if found to have “reasonably” believed the child’s claim at the time to have reached the age of consent. This more lenient approach to child sexual abuse is just one of many changes being considered by the council....

Vladimir Putin's decision to launch a full-scale invasion of Ukraine is a monstrous act of aggression that has plunged the world into a perilous situation. By any reasonable standard, his move was an over-the-top response to any Ukrainian or NATO provocations. However, that conclusion is different from saying that there were no provocations, as far too many policymakers and pundits in the West are doing now.

A former director of data science at Thomson Reuters said he was fired for sharing research on the company's internal social media platform that showed police killed more unarmed white people than black people and that the Black Lives Matter movement allegedly caused the deaths of thousands. Zac Kriegman, who worked at Thomson Reuters for six years before being fired last summer, claimed he was let go from his $350,000 job because he stood against the company's reporting conventions on BLM in order to dispel what the 'false narrative' that black people were the largest victim of police violence. In...

MOSCOW. May 12 (Interfax) - Indian refineries took advantage of the sharp discounts for Russian Urals, ESPO and Sokol grades, to buy substantial volumes via tender and spot purchases for delivery in May and June, the IEA report said. An estimated 25-30 million barrels were picked up, mostly through trading houses. They have also begun to negotiate longer-term contracts. Trading houses (Trafigura, Vitol) reportedly sold the crude to Indian refiners on a delivered basis, covering shipping and insurance costs, which resulted in a price paid by India's refiners that is higher than the quoted discounts for Russian spot crude sales....
