The largest lithium-ion battery in the world experienced a meltdown over the weekend, its second in five months. An energy storage facility owned by Vistra Energy in Moss Landing, California, triggered fire alarms on the evening of Feb. 13. Four fire trucks responded to the event and found around ten battery packs in the facility melted entirely, according to local broadcaster KSBW. “The building’s systems contained the event without the need for outside assistance,” the company said in a Feb. 15 statement on the outage. “There are no injuries to personnel. An investigation is underway to determine what caused the...

The fight for Canada’s freedom continues despite what Justin Trudeau and the legislature have done by approving the Emergencies Act to continue. The Liberal government won the vote 185-151 with the support of the New Democratic Party. Canadian psychologist Dr. Jordan Peterson took to social media to remind Canadians of what the Emergencies Act was intended to do and to ask them if they believe the Trudeau regime is using it for that purpose. “Canadians, you have no idea what was done today in the name of — what? Safety? Punishment? What’s the rationale, even hypothetically? The Emergency Act was...

WASHINGTON (AP) — When Russian President Vladimir Putin authorized troops to cross Ukraine’s border into regions controlled by Russian-backed separatists, the White House initially stopped short of calling it an invasion. That changed on Tuesday, and key allies in Europe joined in saying Putin had crossed a red line. “This is the beginning of a Russian invasion of Ukraine,” President Joe Biden said. But not all invasions are viewed as equal. Asked whether Putin’s decision to send in what he called “peacekeepers” amounts to an invasion, the European Union’s foreign policy chief, Josep Borrell, said, “I wouldn’t say that’s a...

Corporate media is part of the agenda to jab everyone, but Neil Cavuto's personal experiences with Covid are different from propaganda. They demonstrate a severe delusion spreading across America.Since early evidence showed the vaccines were not only ineffective but clearly dangerous to many, I’ve said that cognitive dissonance is a component of the ongoing agenda to jab every man, woman, and child on earth. I underestimated its importance. Now, I’ve concluded that invoking cognitive dissonance is the most powerful tool being used by the powers-that-be. How do they “invoke” cognitive dissonance in others? Isn’t it internalized within one’s psyche? Yes...

A study describes a new and effective therapy to treat glioblastoma: the concomitant use of ADI-PEG20 together with focal brain radiotherapy. This double treatment completely eliminated the tumor in the animal models used in the study. Currently, glioblastoma is a terminal disease whose average life expectancy is less than two years. The treatments used at present are based on therapies that are more than 30 years old. The results of this study offer a new therapeutic option against glioblastoma: the use of the drug ADI-PEG20, which eliminates systemic arginine, in combination with the application of focal brain radiotherapy. With this,...

By now, you might have heard about a woman named Candy. She was the “trampled lady” in Ottowa as the police rode through on horseback because of Trudeau’s authoritarian orders. In case you missed it, Candy was standing in the crowd peacefully. She is an elderly woman and a grandmother. And she also has to use a walker in order to get around. But none of that mattered when Canadian police rode through on their horses, knocked her to the ground, and trampled here. There were initial rumors that Candy had been trampled to death. Fortunately, that was not the...

Last week, we documented Special Counsel John Durham’s motion discussing the potential conflicts of interest of Michael Sussmann’s attorneys. That filing was important for a number of reasons, mainly because Durham stated that Sussmann’s client, Rodney Joffe (a federal contractor with access to “sensitive” data) “exploited” internet traffic data (domain name system, or DNS) pertaining to “the Executive Office of the President of the United States (“EOP”).”We also asked why Joffe and Sussmann continued to push false allegations of Trump’s ties to Russia after the election. One could theorize that they made the Trump/Russia connection in the summer and fall...

Chinese tech giant Huawei rose to prominence because it received tens of billions from Beijing, thus allowing the firm to undercut competitors and gain market shares, said book author Jonathan Pelson. However, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) did not shell out the money for only pure business reasons.“The CCP was not helping Huawei so that [it] can succeed as a company,” Pelson said. “They were helping Huawei so that the CCP could succeed in its geopolitical efforts, to export its philosophies and its governance principles around the rest of the world.”Pelson made the remarks during an interview with EpochTV’s “China Insider”...

Most Americans disagree with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s handling of the Canadian freedom truckers in his country, but a majority of Democrats support his protest crackdown, a Trafalgar Group survey released Tuesday found. “Do you approve or disapprove of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s handling of the trucker protest in his country?” the survey asked. Overall, it found 55.3 percent disapproving, compared to 35.1 percent who approve and 9.6 percent who are unaware of it. Notably, there is a significant partisan divide, as 87.3 percent of Republicans disapprove of Trudeau’s handling of the protest, but 65.7 percent of Democrats...

Tripp Powell, who is seeking the Alabama Senate District 21 seat in the November 2022 general election, was removed from the Republican primary ballot over the weekend. The Alabama Republican Party removed four candidates from its primary ballot over the weekend, alleging they had supported Democrats in violation of party rules. The party’s bylaws give the GOP's candidates committee broad discretion to disqualify candidates. But some of those removed from the ballot said Monday they thought the party had arbitrarily applied the rules. Tripp Powell, a Tuscaloosa businessman who was challenging Sen. Gerald Allen, R-Tuscaloosa, in the GOP primary, said...

Enes Kanter Freedom, who was recently nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize and is newly without a team in the NBA, received a warm welcome from Senators on Capitol Hill at an awards ceremony last week for his continued activism against the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) human rights abuses. When it comes to the NBA, “you can talk about all the social (injustice) happening all around the world. But when it comes to China, you cannot speak up,” Freedom said at a ceremony hosted by advocacy group Committee on Present Danger: China in Washington on Feb. 17. “If you do,...

Leukemia, the blood cancer, is a group of hematopoietic malignancies. Many types of leukemia are associated with poor outcome. Unfortunately, during the past few decades, the first-line leukemia therapy has long been traditional chemotherapy with high cytotoxicity and low selectivity, such as the "7+3" strategy, i.e., a combination of cytarabine and doxorubicin. Side effects of such intensive chemotherapies are often severe, especially in older patients. Therefore, it is an urgent need to understand the mechanisms of leukemia, and develop novel targeted therapy based on such comprehension. In this work, Jiang's group first found through drug screening that opioid receptor agonists,...

SIMFEROPOL, Ukraine (AP) — Russian troops took over the strategic Crimean peninsula Saturday without firing a shot. The newly installed government in Kiev was powerless to react, and despite calls by U.S. President Barack Obama for Russia to pull back its forces, Western governments had few options to counter Russia's military moves. Russian President Vladimir Putin sought and quickly got his parliament's approval to use its military to protect Russia's interests across Ukraine. But while sometimes-violent pro-Russian protests broke out Saturday in a number of Russian-speaking regions of eastern Ukraine, Moscow's immediate focus appeared to be Crimea.

Some medical professionals are vowing to fight a possible new California law that attempts to threaten their medical licenses for spreading “COVID-19 misinformation”—calling the effort “unconstitutional” and “illegal.” California Assemblyman Evan Low (D-Campbell) introduced Assembly Bill (AB) 2098 on Feb. 15, which would prevent licensed physicians and surgeons from spreading COVID-19 misinformation. If passed, the law would inject disciplinary actions by the Medical Board of California or the Osteopathic Medical Board of California to care providers promoting alleged misinformation. “The idea that they’re going to come after physicians that spread misinformation, without defining what misinformation is frightening,” Physician Dr. Jeff...

Most of the action we’ve been seeing in Canada as part of Justin Trudeau’s almost unbelievable “Emergencies Act” declaration has come from the Prime Minister himself. He’s been ordering financial institutions to freeze people’s assets and block their transactions (or at least trying to) and allowing the arrest and confinement of people who have committed no acts of violence or property damage. But Trudeau isn’t the only one getting in on the emergency power game. As our Redstate colleague Madeline Leesman reported today, the Mayor of Ottawa, Jim Watson, has clearly seen the benefits of exerting some totalitarian power of...

With Biden’s approval rating averaging at around 41.3%, many incumbent Democrats retiring, Republicans having an average +3.8 in the generic ballot, and historical trends of the incumbent President’s party losing in the midterms, many pundits and voters agree that a Republican wave is imminent. Still, Republicans are looking for ways to expand and satisfy their base to ensure future victories. With that comes the question as to what the future of the Republican Party is. Do we revert to the establishment and cronyistic ways of Bush, Romney, and McCain or do we move further with Trumpian populism? Recent polling may...

Former President Trump on Tuesday called Russia's recognition of two breakaway territories in eastern Ukraine a "genius" move ahead of its military invasion. In an interview on "The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show," Trump said Russian President Vladimir Putin's recognition of the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics in eastern Ukraine on Monday was "smart" and "pretty savvy." "I went in yesterday, and there was a television screen, and I said, 'This is genius,'" he said. "Putin declares a big portion of the Ukraine — of Ukraine — Putin declares it as independent. Oh, that’s wonderful." "I said, 'How smart...

The shareholders that accused KUSA’s newsroom of racist behavior in a federal filing are inching closer to acquiring the station’s parent company, according to multiple reports. Standard General along with Apollo Global Management have reportedly made an offer to purchase 9News’s parent company Tegna for $24 a share. The editor of TV News Check Michael Depp said there’s likely a feeling of impending disaster at 9News and other Tegna stations that could see massive shakeups if the deal goes through. As a high-finance battle in office tower boardrooms wages over ownership of Tegna, there’s likely a feeling of a “sword...
