The mandate’s broad scope, when combined with its harsh penalties and huge exceptions, makes no sense at all. California is a strange place. It has terrible public transportation and some of the highest gas prices in the country. The state spends a fortune on education, yet it’s one of the lowest-ranked in the country for students performing at grade level. Meghan Markle lives in California and she’s a typical specimen of the celebrities who flock to the Golden State, to bask in the sun and spend tons of money and cry constantly about how abused they are. California also has...

WASHINGTON, Thursday, Nov. 7. The news from Europe at the State Department is understood to be eminently satisfactory. Official dispatches corroborate the impressions given by the telegraphic reports already published in the newspapers. Unofficial communications from loyal citizens of the United States, residing in Paris and London, say that in France Prince NAPOLEON has cast off all reserve, and declared that the insurrection cannot prevail; and other letters say that secession is dead in France, or, at least, that it gives no signs of life. A letter received to-night from Darnestown says the latest reliable information from the Virginia side...

On race, the left has a lot of explaining to do. Wokeness, wokespeak, and utterly fabricated ideology such as “critical race theory” has, tragically, permeated our society and institutions. And done irreparable harm to our republic. (Let’s hope the recent election results are signs that the American people are waking up to wokeness and starting to realize how disingenuous-- and dangerous—these ideologies are to any ostensibly free and functional civilization.) How thoroughly has this divisive, overtly racist, anti-American rot penetrated our core institutions? According to Mark Levin’s new book, “American Marxism,” materials directed at non-minority males at one federal entity,...

If you ever needed any proof for your left-wing friends that the current administration or, for that matter, progressives in general care nothing for anyone but themselves, look no further than the latest potential move by the Biden administration to rob Americans of their ability to heat their homes or run their cars this coming winter. The administration (and I use that term loosely) is mulling shutting down an oil pipeline in Michigan as the Midwest moves into the coldest time of the year. I grew up in Ohio and did my undergrad work in Michigan and I can tell...

The rumors about his little accident when visiting with the Pope had only just faded when another rumor blew into town, so to speak. The older you get, the harder travel can be on your body. You tire more easily, your joints hurt and, if you’re unlucky, your digestion goes all flipsy-wopsy. Joe Biden is just a few days away from turning 79, which is a respectable age for anyone, especially someone who seems to be decomposing while still alive. Perhaps it’s not surprising, given his age and decrepitude, that Biden’s bowels apparently were a problem during his recent trip...

Hollywood and public perception have pushed a narrative that our nation’s protectors are stoic warriors that can’t falter under stress or pressure. This is not true, not at all. Those that wear a uniform, or badge adorned to their person, face an unprecedented amount of stress. Stress bore from decades of wars coming to an end, lack of public support, and pressure to maintain a hard shell. All affect our nation’s protectors' health and mental well-being. Making this worse is the stigma attached to active military, veterans, and emergency responders to come forward to seek the help they need. A...

HOT SPRINGS, Va. — The increasingly liberal politics of Virginia had been a sore spot for residents of this conservative town of 499 people nestled in the Allegheny Mountains. But this past week, as Republicans stormed to marquee victories powered in part by turnout in rural areas like Bath County, local voters cheered. “We got our Virginia back,” said Elaine Neff, a 61-year-old resident. “And we haven’t had a win in a long time.” Ms. Neff said she cried from a mix of happiness and relief after the election. She does not want to take the coronavirus vaccine and believes...

Academia has a huge problem on its hands. While it is true that there are similar views on issues within particular gender groups, nevertheless, gender groups, like race or ethnic groups, are not monolithic. Some women, almost always associated with academic institutions or affairs, have increasingly been involved prominently in bitter intellectual disputes with other women on issues pertinent to the nature and definition of gender and sex, and whether gender is dependent on social and cultural factors. On this question there are at least four relevant facts. First, the disputes have become more extreme and acrimonious than is customary...

On November 9, 2012, Cook County Illinois created a special tax on guns. On November 18, 2015, the County board added a tax on ammunition. At the time, this correspondent believed the tax to be unconstitutional on its face. So did the Illinois Advocacy Group for Second Amendment rights, Guns Save Lives. They filed a lawsuit, challenging the tax law, on December 17, 2015. The lower courts in Illinois did not agree. They did not find a problem with the taxes. Guns Save Lives appealed to the Illinois Supreme Court. The case was decided on October 21, 2021. The decision...

She and several colleagues, including Dr. Peter Doshi, formed a group –...

The Biden administration has been a disaster in every regard. This is one reason why poll numbers for resident Joe Biden keep falling. He is now languishing at an embarrassing approval rating of only 38%. Americans do not like what resident Biden has delivered in his first ten months in office. The results have been catastrophic and include an open southern border with millions of people from dozens of nations streaming into our country. Biden has also delivered a military withdrawal debacle in Afghanistan that left behind hundreds of American citizens. In the last ten months, Americans have witnessed rampant...

A voting error was just fixed in New Jersey and GOP candidate Jack Ciattarelli is back up in the race after briefly trailing to incumbent Democratic Governor Phil Murphy. “The early vote was double-counted in Hudson County,” National Political Correspondent for NBC News and MSNBC Steve Kornacki reported. “It has now been fixed, bringing Murphy’s total down by 10,732 and Ciattarelli’s by 2,842. Ciattarelli goes back up in the statewide tally: Ciattarelli (R): 1,177,803 (49.6%) Murphy (D) 1,177,108 (49.6%).” As reported at Becker News earlier, there have been other anomalies in the New Jersey governor’s race. A disturbing phenomenon was...

ransomnote: The funeral director notes that hospitals have small freezers which have a maximum morgue capacity of 6-10 infants, and they are normall not full. He now sees far more than can fit in the freezers so the newborn and/or full-term babies have overflowed traditional capacity and are now being put into storage with adults. One hospital has approximately 30 such infants, which he's never seen before. During an interview with Resistance GB, Wesley, who has been a funeral director for over three years, speaks about his experience throughout the so-called “pandemic” and what he’s been seeing in the morgues...

Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) on Sunday likened the claim that the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol was a “false flag operation” to individuals who say the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks were an “inside job.” Asked by host Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday” if there is any truth to arguments that the Jan. 6 attack was a “false flag operation” — specifically that liberal individuals from the “deep state” created the riots to set up conservatives and Trump supporters — Cheney said, “None at all” before comparing the assertions to ones made in the aftermath of the Sept. 11...

We are just a year away from critical mid-term elections. Finding a path to ensuring election integrity is a must to build trust in any result. But, unfortunately, any attempt to do so risks headlines like the following: "A damaging blow to voting rights." "Restrictive voting laws new Jim Crow." "The Supreme Court Kills the Voting Rights Act." Such headlines dominate mainstream liberal coverage whenever voting is in any way restricted. In our crazy COVID world, Democrats seem comfortable with mail-in ballots flying everywhere forever, last-minute voter registration, extended early and late voting, and the elimination of voter ID. It's...
