I’m still convinced it was a test run by traffickers. If they can use airlines, it’s much safer (for them) than having to use buses or private vehicles.

So are you saying it was in part because of the racial difference between mother and daughter that police were doing the right thing?
For better or worse, our social standard is that you can’t use such racial correlations for suspecting crime.
I am in complete agreement with your statement. My husband recently travelled with our teen Asian descent daughter. He brought with him his and her passports along with her student ID and birth certificate in case they were questioned. They weren’t questioned; however, both understood that human trafficking occurs to innocent kids/teens/ and flight attendants may ask a question or two. It isn’t “racism”. It’s an attempt to SAVE a child. If this woman is so upset over an encounter that lasted “a few minutes”, she needs to re-think being a Mom.
I think she is wrong and just looking for money here. The sympathy I had for her evaporated with her claims of racism, when the motive was obviously something quite different that was quickly resolved.

It was a mother and daughter going to a funeral! The video clip explains why they couldn’t get seats together (last-minute booking, which is to be expected with flying to a funeral, meant they were the last group to be boarded and forage for seats).
There is nothing more prosaic than for parents flying with children to call upon other passengers to make it possible for the family to sit together. That is what happened in this case.

These are the same people that want to emasculate law enforcement, then complain about the rise in crime.
Of course she is being profiled. Flight attendants have been trained to identify signs of trafficking.
She says that she is using her white privilege to speak out about not receiving white privilege. All she had to do was answer a few simple questions and then was allowed to go her way. Geesh!

How would you do a test run, if not like that? Think about it, in the real scenario the kid speaks no English, so he has to be silenced. They wanted to see how Southwest would respond. It’s OBVIOUS what they were up to.
It is better to error on the side of protecting the child rather than worrying about some nit-wit’s feelings. Just accept an apology and move on, lady.
