Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has tested positive for COVID-19, DHS confirmed on Tuesday – just days after he attended an event with President Biden. A DHS spokesperson told Fox that contract tracing was underway after Mayorkas tested positive Tuesday morning. "Secretary Mayorkas is experiencing only mild congestion; he is fully vaccinated and will isolate and work at home per CDC protocols and medical advice," a DHS spokesperson said. The diagnosis comes after Mayorkas attended the 40th Annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service at the U.S. Capitol alongside President Biden on Saturday. While it was not clear what sort of...

Award-winning country music artist Travis Tritt dropped a bomb on Monday when he announced plans to cancel any concerts currently scheduled at venues enforcing COVID-19 restrictions like mask requirements or proof of either vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test.

I thought COVID-19 anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers were a unique phenomenon of American stupidity, but having just returned from a two-week trip to England, I fear that the reckless response to a virus that has killed almost 5 million people worldwide is not an American thing — it’s a human thing. Many of us who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 and who have committed to the discomfort of wearing masks in indoor public places, have spent the better part of a year fuming at the estimated 93 million Americans who are eligible to receive the vaccine but refuse it — and...

A large proportion of the damaging chemical changes which occur in the body's cells due to diabetes and obesity could be prevented by a naturally occurring molecule, a new study suggests. In type 2 diabetes, when glucose stays in the blood it is not used as fuel for energy and can instead lead to toxic molecules forming. Scientists at Nottingham Trent University investigated how this "metabolic stress," resulting from prolonged exposure to high levels of glucose and fat, damages proteins in the blood and cells and prevents them from working properly. The researchers, writing in the journal Free Radical Biology...

Hospitals in Texas have reported an increased number of full intensive care units (ICUs) as the delta variant of the coronavirus continues to ravage communities. According to data released Monday, 42 Texas hospitals reported that their ICU beds were filled to capacity between Oct. 8 and Oct. 14. The data is released by the federal government's Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on a weekly basis and accounts for about 200 Texas hospitals that have more than four ICU patients or four staffed ICU beds. Other hospitals with smaller ICU departments also reported data to HHS.

A student at Oberlin College in Ohio described being "scared" and "angry" after the school announced a work crew would be installing radiators in a "safe space" dormitory for women and trans students, explaining the crew would likely be "cisgender men." "I was angry, scared, and confused. Why didn’t the College complete the installation over the summer, when the building was empty? Why couldn’t they tell us precisely when the workers would be there? Why were they only notifying us the day before the installation was due to begin?" Oberlin student Peter Fray-Witzer wrote in an op-ed published in the...

Whoopi Goldberg told her co-hosts Tuesday on ABC’s “The View” that former Secretary of State Colin Powell may not have died if more Americas were vaccinated against COVID-19. Goldberg said, “Here’s my thing, at some point, people are going to have to grow up. You’re either going to have to make a decision. Five gazillion of us are vaccinated, and we’re okay. Yeah, people have died. People have died having been vaccinated. As of October, there have been 7,178 fatal breakthrough cases that have been reported to the CDC.”

Southwest Airlines dropped a plan to put unvaccinated workers with pending exemptions on unpaid leave after a December 8 deadline following protests by their employees. “The employee will continue to work, while following all COVID mask and distancing guidelines applicable to their position, until the accommodation has been processed,” according to an internal note obtained by CNBC written by Southwest’s Senior Vice President of Operations and Hospitality Steve Goldberg and Vice President and Chief People Officer Julie Weber. Last week, Southwest Airlines canceled hundreds of flights in what reportedly was an employee “sick out,” although the company blamed the weather...

WORLD—The arms race is heating up between the U.S. and China. Just last week, China revealed its brand new "space nukes", which are capable of easily nuking any country on the planet. The United States responded swiftly to the provocation by unveiling the world's first trans admiral. "China, you've been warned," said Biden to a Chinese food delivery person he mistook for President Xi. "Our transgender admiral is fully armed and operational. If you cross us, we will unleash the full fire and fury of this deadly weapon upon you, make no mistake." Military experts say that while a space...

Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen has relented in response to backlash over a controversial proposal by Democrats that would have allowed the IRS to gain information from any American bank account with more than $600 of activity in a year. The measure initially came to light as a part of Democrats’ $3.5 trillion reconciliation bill. Trying to head off concerns from moderates, Democratic leaders and rank-and-file lawmakers have desperately marketed the bill as being completely paid for with no substantial effect on the deficit or national debt. One proposal to achieve that end was the IRS measure. Despite immediate...

PM says partnership will help emerging solutions that are still too expensive for commercial development The UK government has announced plans to launch a £400m package of investment alongside the US billionaire Bill Gates to boost the development of new green technologies. Boris Johnson said the deal would help power a “green industrial revolution” and develop emerging technologies that were currently too expensive to be commercially successful but were essential to hitting the government’s climate goals. Speaking at a Global Investment Summit at the Science Museum in London on Tuesday, the prime minister said the partnership would help develop UK...

MRC President Brent Bozell joined conservative radio host Dan Bongino in standing against intrusive vaccine mandates being forced on employees. Bongino hammered Cumulus Media — his show’s partner — during the Oct. 18 edition of the Dan Bongino Show on Fox Nation. The company had recently instituted a draconian vaccine mandate against its workers. The mandate reportedly led to firings at Cumulus. Bongino called the move by Cumulus “stupid” and leveled an ultimatum against the media company. “You can have me, or you can have the [vaccine] mandate. But you can't have both of us,” Bongino said. Bozell took to...

Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) urged his party to focus on President Biden heading into 2022, and not relitigating the 2020 election that former President Trump still falsely claims was stolen. McConnell, speaking to reporters during a weekly press conference, was asked if he was comfortable with the party embracing Trump. The former president was at a retreat over the weekend for Senate Republicans' campaign arm and endorsed Sen. Chuck Grassley (R) for reelection in Iowa earlier this month. “Well I do think we need to be talking about the future, not the past,” McConnell told reporters Tuesday.

Veteran country music star Travis Tritt announced he will not play venues that require proof of coronavirus vaccination or a negative test. In a statement posted to his official website, Tritt said he will be putting his money where his mouth is, emphasizing that any venue or promoter pushing extreme coronavirus protocols on his “fans will not be tolerated”: I’m putting my money where my mouth is and announcing that any venue or promoter mandating masks, requiring vaccinations, or pushing COVID testing protocols on my fans will not be tolerated. I’m a sucker for secret menu items. During the few times I’ve visited In-N-Out, ordering Animal-Style fries (a huge upgrade on the chain’s otherwise crappy fries) made me feel like I was part of a clandestine club. Maybe not as secretive as the Illuminati, but close. I realize that the In-N-Out secret menu is far from secret, but there’s still a thrill to it. And if In-N-Out has a widely known secret menu, are there many more out there to be discovered? Turns out, yes—and they’re all in one place. TODAY reports on Hack The Menu, a website that consolidates...

Disgraced James Bond wannabe Christopher Steele granted an interview to George Stephanopoulos which has been turned into a "documentary" by George Stephanopoulos productions. Some might think it curious as to why Remington Steele has suddenly decided to come forward. It's no coincidence. You will remember that the Clinton campaign hired and paid Remington Steele to concoct a dossier on Donald Trump. You will remember that it was full of excrement that no one in the Mueller commission could validate. Even Peter Strzok said the dossier was a full of "bullsh*t" and probably Russian disinformation as well. The garbage dossier became...
