Former President Barack Obama didn’t listen to Pentagon officials when they told him Taliban mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa was too dangerous to release. Instead, he freed the group that came to be known as the ‘Gitmo five’ — Khairkhwa alongside four of his buddies — from the Guantanamo Bay prison in 2014 in exchange for a U.S. soldier who deserted his post. Obama all but guaranteed that Khairkhwa and the four other men would be sent to Qatar, where their movements would be restricted and where they could do no harm. As it turns out, the Taliban isn’t as trustworthy as...

The Cross Has Defeated Unlove. Love Wins The War For The World. By JAG August 17, 2021 "i want to be loved", said John Doe. If John would change that to "I want to love" John would end up getting what he wanted because John can control that. Getting love and loyalty from human beings is not always easy to come by. When the Lord Jesus most needed love and loyalty from His friends "all [His] disciples deserted Him and fled." {Matthew 26:56}. And they were Christians too. The great Paul "195 lashes" the Apostle had friends that treated him...

Until Sunday, Europe thought Joe Biden was an expert on foreign policy. Now, the American president’s decision to allow Afghanistan to collapse into the arms of the Taliban has European officials worried he has unwittingly accelerated what his predecessor Donald Trump started: the degradation of the Western alliance and everything it is supposed to stand for in the world. Across Europe, officials have reacted with a mix of disbelief and a sense of betrayal. Even those who cheered Biden’s election and believed he could ease the recent tensions in the transatlantic relationship said they regarded the withdrawal from Afghanistan as nothing...
