This sums up my reaction to the withdrawal from Afghanistan since yesterday.

"The 2000 Yard Stare", by Thomas Lea, 1944.
By coincidence, this is has been my frequent reaction to the news since last December.
That's how my day's going, Anyone else?
I get it Widget. Well done.
Sort of my reaction since election night November.
I’m with you, bro.
Nah.... mine’s more like the DeadPool meme about common sense, so rare it’s a superpower.
Hey. This is a psy op meant to demoralize you. The so-called Taliban are all paid by CIA. This is theater meant to demoralize. This is why Taliban were reported to be chanting death of America while smiling and having fun with it. The crowds running after the air plane were most likely all paid for that. Listen to first hand reports from military on the ground. Nothing is what you think it is.
Dan Bongino and others have their first hand on the ground sources too, and they are calling this a disaster on a insane scale.
Yeah,I got that stare also. I sleep walk through work and I am numb. It is overwhelming. The Afghanistan crap is simply demoralizing and shocking along with the USA floating in the toilet ready to be flushed. We have to fight but I am not seeing it.
Hannity just said nobody knows how many Americans are stuck in Afghanistan. He gave a range of 10,000-40,000.
This administration has only cared about gaining and maintaining political power.
They don’t care anything about the US, its traditional principles, or its people.
They are destroying our economy, destroying our energy independence, destroying our educational system, and making fools of us in front of the world and all of our allies.
I hope that at least some of the mindless drones who voted for this clown show are watching, and get some sense in 2022.
I’m not disputing the number, but why are that many Americans still there?
Instead Biden had the U.S. military leave leave everyone else behind.
This should not surprise anyone. When Obama green lit the Syrian Civil war, he handed it over to Biden who made a mess of it. Pentagon backed rebels were fighting CIA backed rebels more than Assad. There was no reason to trigger the Syria Civil War, the Syrian Refugee crisis, and almost let ISIS/DAESH establish a foothold of a caliphate. Actually, maybe there was a reason for Syria. Either way, Biden had his chance at CIC and showed he can not handle the job.
Someone on another thread pointed out that the audit report is due to be released.
Covid didn’t work, murder hornets didn’t work...most states are not going back into lockdown, so what next...
Here’s the answer
I wonder the same thing.
My reaction since election night 2008.
I haven’t got the 2000 yard stare yet, I’m still at the bloodshot outraged eyes stage.
If I have Newsmax on while I’m working, my temper suddenly gets much shorter.
There are (er were) many contractor and business relationships with the Afghani (former) government, Afghani businesses etc—many going back many years.
These high numbers are not that surprising—and those folks were overconfident and had “normalcy bias” about their future prospects in the country.
