The opposition to the Trump administration’s policy was carried out by the likes of “Anonymous” — who bragged of working inside the administration to countermand legal directives by systematically and illegally leaking classified information — and by a biased media that reached a new record of 80–90 percent negative coverage of the current administration and its policies. Joe Biden’s team, if it were to be wise and without arrogance, would build on the present policies, which have created far more strategic advantages for the West in general and the U.S. in particular than had the more praised but often empty...

Zawistowski said, "We wanted to express our concerns to the President, to the legislators, courts and Congress that We the People will NOT cede our exclusive Constitutional right to elect...

    The Post Millennial ^ | Dec. 1, 2020 | Mia Cathell
A witness at the Michigan election integrity hearing alleged that all the military ballots she observed looked like "xerox copies" of each other. The witness said that none of ballots were from registered voters and all were for Democratic nominee Joe Biden. "Not one of the military ballots was a registered voter and the ballots looked like they were all exactly the same xerox copies of the ballot," the witness testified to the state's Senate Oversight Committee at the Binsing Office Building in Lansing, Mich. This testimony on the absentee ballot counting process at the TCF Center in Detroit came...

How do armed, nonstate actors such as criminal organizations affect economic growth? Nikita Melnikov, Carlos Schmidt-Padilla, and Maria Micaela Sviatschi explore this question in Gangs, Labor Mobility, and Development (NBER Working Paper 27832), a study of how two of the world’s largest gangs, MS-13 (also known as Mara Salvatrucha) and 18th Street (also known as Barrio 18) affect socioeconomic development in El Salvador. The researchers study a natural experiment that occurred in the 1990s. Before 1997, El Salvador did not have any powerful gangs. In that year, the United States began implementing an immigration policy that made it easier to...

  • Politically Sanitized 'Hillbilly Elegy' Movie Gets Poor Reviews

Director Ron Howard apparently had a problem with the rather inconvenient politics of J.D. Vance's memoir, Hillbilly Elegy. His solution was to simply sanitize all politics out of the film version which according to most critics left it a rather lame movie. It will premiere on Netflix on November 24, but don't expect anything even close to, say, John Ford's Grapes of Wrath.Even the Hollywood Reporter took note of this in their Monday review of the film by Rebecca Keegan in "'Hillbilly Elegy': Caught Between Hollywood and a Hard Place."

China is deepening its spat with Australia, refusing to apologize after a government official posted an altered image of an Australian soldier holding a knife to a young Afghan boy's throat. Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison had asked for an apology; instead, a Chinese government representative excoriated Australia for its troops' alleged brutality in Afghanistan. "The Australian side has been reacting so strongly to my colleague's tweet," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said during a briefing Monday. "Why is that? Do they think that their merciless killing of Afghan civilians is justified but the condemnation of such ruthless brutality...

Well, this is something. Minutes after disappointing Trump supporters – and no doubt President Trump himself – by saying that his do-nothing FBI/DOJ has found no evidence of fraud that would be pervasive enough to tilt the outcome of the presidential election, William Barr announced that he is formally converting U.S. Attorney John Durham to a Special Counsel in his investigation of the origins of Spygate and Obamagate. This conversion will help to ensure that Durham will be able to continue his work in a new Biden/Harris administration, complicating the hell out of China Joe Potato Head Biden since he...

If you’ve ever filled out a Form 4473, you’re familiar with the Question 11e: “Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or other controlled substance?” In case you thought there was any ambiguity with regard to medical marijuana, you were wrong. Indeed, there is a warning in bold right underneath the question that clarifies: “Warning: The use or possession of marijuana remains unlawful under Federal law regardless of whether it has been legalized or decriminalized or for medicinal or recreational purposes in the state where you reside.” Regardless of what one...

Four men were spotted removing the mysterious metal monolith when it disappeared from a remote section of Utah, an eyewitness claims. The three-sided stainless-steel structure first spotted by wildlife officials counting sheep in southeastern Utah on Nov. 18 was taken down late Friday by a team of four men who worked in pairs and shoved it to the ground, the New York Times reported. Ross Bernards, a 34-year-old photographer from Colorado, told the newspaper he drove six hours earlier that night to get a glimpse of the peculiar structure that prompted worldwide speculation over how it got there, since it...

  • Trump allies to ask Supreme Court to block Pennsylvania ruling on mail-in ballots

The Republican lawsuit challenged Act 77, the 2019 statute in Pennsylvania that allows voters to cast mail ballots for any reason. Trump’s allies asked the state court to invalidate all votes cast by mail in the general election — more than 2.5 million in total — or direct the Republican-led state legislature to appoint its own slate of presidential electors. After granting a state request that it exercise extraordinary jurisdiction, the state supreme court dismissed the case on Saturday, ruling that petitioners waited too long to sue. The order blamed petitioners for a “complete failure to act with due diligence...

Presidential politics is a tough business, especially for incumbents who fail to make the cut as re-elected Commanders in Chief. Jimmy Carter, who rode the wave of anti-Watergate sentiment all the way to the White House in 1976, was ousted in landslide to Ronald Reagan in 1980, courtesy of the economic malaise that engulfed the nation during the late 1970s. George Herbert Walker Bush, elected in a rout of Michael Dukakis in 1988, failed in his re-election efforts as economic woes — and Ross Perot’s third-party candidacy — sealed his fate.

A New York congressional race came down to a judge personally reviewing individual spoiled ballots, resulting in the Democratic incumbent erasing his nearly 30,000-vote deficit to take a 13-vote lead and declaring victory. “In NY-22, the Democrat incumbent was trailing by almost 30K on election night,” said Hot Air editor Jazz Shaw on Twitter. “The mail-in ballots got him close. Then a Democrat judge from Syracuse ruled he would personally ‘review’ all of the spoiled ballots that had been rejected. Guess what happened next.” “The judge miraculously ‘found’ enough ballots that he felt were okay and the incumbent now ‘leads’...

In a paper published on the Web today, a group of Princeton computer scientists said they created demonstration vote-stealing software that can be installed within a minute on a common electronic voting machine. The software can fraudulently change vote counts without being detected. "We have created and analyzed the code in the spirit of helping to guide public officials so that they can make wise decisions about how to secure elections," said Edward Felten, http://www.cs.princeton.edu/~felten/ the director of the Center for Information Technology Policy, a new center http://www.princeton.edu/main/news/archive/S13/34/75A49/index.xml at Princeton University that addresses crucial issues at the intersection of society...

Sen. Doug Mastriano is pushing forward to ensure Pennsylvania does not send fraudulent results to the Electoral College Less than a week after the bombshell Gettysburg, Pennsylvania hearing into election integrity, Republican legislators in Pennsylvania have introduced a joint resolution that declares the election’s results in dispute, and demands that Congress only accepts Electoral College votes from Pennsylvania after they have been approved by the legislature. After Trump senior legal advisor Jenna Ellis and former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani outlined how the Pennsylvania state legislature can reclaim their ability to assign Electoral College votes from the Secretary of State,...
