Convincing potential COVID-19 patients to stay in quarantine is taking a controversial turn in Shoreline. King County officials are giving addicts beer, cigarettes - and until recently marijuana - so they won't leave a recovery center. Officials with the Department of Human and Community Services call it harm reduction and point out no tax payer money is being used. Some neighbors said it makes sense. Others called it a big mistake. The Shoreline facility is set up for people suspected of having COVID-19 but who can't quarantine at home, or they don't have a home. Some also have addictions and...

It's nothing short of a scandal that 53 percent of Americans believe that this completely discredited document 'was real in its findings of Trump colluding with the Russians.' The media’s approval and credibility ratings may be low, but they still have a tremendous amount of political power. Whether they are attempting to destroy the life and reputation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, working overtime to protect the reputation of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, pushing the impeachment of a sitting president, attempting to control the outcomes of elections, or spending years peddling a false tale of treasonous collusion with...

What is the fundamental nature of reality? Is space-time — the four-dimensional fabric of our universe — ultimately smooth at the tiniest of scales, or something else? It seems impossible to measure, but with the power of advanced telescopes peering through billions of light-years of distance, researchers are beginning to look down. Deep down.

After calls from state lawmakers and a Freedom of Information Act Request from Illinois Senate Republicans, the Illinois Department of Corrections releases a list of every inmate released from state prisons since March 1. On that list are almost 4,000 inmates that had their sentence commuted by either Gov. JB Pritzker, or were released by the Illinois Department of Corrections. According to court records, some of those released were convicted of violent crimes — 64 of them for murder, four of them convicted here in the Stateline. Pritzker has defended his move to commute sentences multiple times at his afternoon...

As covid-19 spread rapidly in the first weeks of March, Esther grew nervous. It was nearly time for her monthly visit to the ritual bath that many observant Jewish women use to purify themselves after every menstrual cycle, and she worried she might catch the virus at the very place meant for physical and spiritual cleansing. “I have a disability and many underlying health issues,” said Esther, 43, an ultra-Orthodox mother of seven. “Deciding whether or not to go was very, very stressful.”

Five weeks and 19 interviews later, presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden has not been asked directly about the substantiated sexual assault accusations from Tara Reade. Joe Biden might not be guilty. But the corporate media is.Here’s what we know. We know Tara Reade alleges that in 1993 her boss, Sen. Joe Biden, sexually assaulted her, and we know that five people have thus far corroborated her claim she told them about this at the time. We know that, and we know that Vice President Biden denies committing sexual assault, and further, denies his office even received a complaint.Next, we...

California Gov. Gavin Newsom intends to order the closure of all state beaches and parks starting Friday, according to a copy of a memo provided to CNN by a senior law enforcement official. "We wanted to give all of our members a heads up about this in order to provide time for you to plan for any situations you might expect as a result, knowing each community has its own dynamics," the memo says. The closures are expected to be announced Thursday, and state park personnel will help in local efforts to close the sites, the memo said. Newsom's office...

M.K. Pritzker, the billionaire wife of Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D), is reportedly skipping out on her husband’s stringent lockdown orders, jetting off to their $12.1 million equestrian estate in South Florida — a state that has refused to implement what Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) described as “draconian” measures as a response to the coronavirus pandemic. While Pritzker finds himself in the middle of a legal battle over his extension of the his lockdown order, extending it until May 30 and promoting his All-in Illinois initiative, his wife is nowhere to be seen, at least in the Prairie State. It’s just the flu, bro. How can this level of tyranny be justified for what is really just the flu? Even though this overblown Wuhan flu crisis isn’t over, just think of the next virus pandemic when some children might actually die. The media will clamor for another lockdown - politicians will react accordingly because they don’t want the blood of the children on their hands. They now have the blueprint for obtaining more socialism in the future. This social distancing is not natural. Anything that involves widespread, sustained and significant deviations from natural human behavior will lead to terrible...

Newly unsealed FBI notes show that during an internal discussion about the bureau's investigation of then-National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, an unknown author questioned whether the goal was "Truth/Admission" or "to get him to lie." The single page of handwritten notes is dated January 24, 2017, the same day of Flynn's White House FBI interview. While the author is not identified, the initials "EP" appear near the date. CBS News has reached out to a former FBI official to confirm whether that official is the author. The notes are lightly redacted, and read in part, "We have a case on...

The Tara Reade sexual allegation against presidential hopeful Joe Biden has revealed the Democrats’ true colors once again. Many of us recall how Democrats pounced on then-candidate Donald Trump when an audio tape was released of him having a conversation with Billy Bush in 2005 in which Trump said: “[Y]ou can do anything [to women] when you’re a star.” Despite Trump saying: “This was locker room banter,” Hillary Clinton, who was hoping to gain momentum for her own election bid, criticized Trump’s comments as “horrific.” She tweeted: “We cannot allow this man to become president.” After Trump won the election,...

Maria Bartiromo has good sources. – This sets her apart from Sean Hannity, Greg Jarrett and Sara Carter, the Tick-Tock brigade who have spent the last two years promising Hannity’s listeners and viewers that indictments of the bad actors in the coup cabal were always just around the corner. Bartiromo didn’t promise that, but if you remember, she did tweet this on Sunday evening: Maria Bartiromo ✔ @MariaBartiromo Maria Bartiromo: Gen. Protesters who want Gov. J.B. Pritzker to announce a plan to reopen the Illinois economy have scheduled a Friday rally outside the Thompson Center in the Loop. “Illinois residents have tolerated the government’s plan for over a month — without a plan on how to slowly and safely reopen the state’s economy,” a news release announcing the event states. “We need to discuss the process of cautiously returning back to work.” The Loop event is being organized by Freedom Movement USA, which on its website describes itself as “a group of like-minded Republican activists.” The organization has held pro-President Donald...

Sen. Kamala Harris declared the 2020 election is “literally” a matter of life and death during a virtual town hall for presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden. “Elections matter,” Mrs. Harris, California Democrat, told Biden campaign senior adviser Symone Sanders. “We have seen a president in Donald Trump who lies to the American people, who does not embrace truth or speak truth, someone who is obviously so much more concerned about himself than the people he represents. And we have seen a failure of leadership that’s resulted in great damage to our country. “The pandemic is not over, it’s going...

A runner, a young male who appeared to be in his mid-to-late 20s, moved at a swift pace down Las Vegas Boulevard early on a crisp, spring afternoon. He slowed ever so briefly as he approached an intersection at Flamingo Road, then regained his pace and continued his run. This wouldn't be so unusual, except that the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo is usually one of the busiest in town, and the runner was on the road in the traffic lanes, not on the sidewalk. He loped briskly, largely by himself, at a time when usually there would...

LONDON - Senior British doctors have warned that 250 ventilators the United Kingdom bought from China risk causing "significant patient harm, including death," if they are used in hospitals, according to a letter seen by NBC News. The doctors said the machines had a problematic oxygen supply, could not be cleaned properly, had an unfamiliar design and a confusing instruction manual, and were built for use in ambulances, not hospitals. The British case is not an isolated one, and it comes as a stark example of a procurement problem that has plagued many countries as the coronavirus has spread throughout...

WASHINGTON/LONDON/DUBAI - As the United States pressed Saudi Arabia to end its oil price war with Russia, President Donald Trump gave Saudi leaders an ultimatum. In an April 2 phone call, Trump told Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman that unless the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) started cutting oil production, he would be powerless to stop lawmakers from passing legislation to withdraw U.S. troops from the kingdom, four sources familiar with the matter told Reuters. The threat to upend a 75-year strategic alliance, which has not been previously reported, was central to the U.S. pressure campaign that...
