Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said during the Wednesday debate in Las Vegas that debates should be themed by issues, both to educate the public and determine how well candidates know each issue. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/elections-2020/aoc-calls-for-themed-debates-to-educate-the-public-on-issues/ar-BB10bgHV?ocid=spartandhp

Former Deputy Attorney General Donald Ayer called his former colleague, Attorney General William Barr, "un-American" because he thinks the president is above the law. "The reason I say he's un-American...is that the central tenet of our legal system and our justice system is that no person is above the law," Ayer told CNN's Wolf Blitzer on Monday. "Bill Barr's vision is that there is one man—one person—who needs to be above the law and that is the president." Having known Barr for 40 years, Ayer told Blitzer that there was never a reason to "test" Barr's "very strong view" that...

Aliya Feroe recalls the flustered OB-GYN who referred her to another physician after learning she identified as queer. For Rhi Ledgerwood, who was designated female at birth, identifies as trans and doesn’t have sex with men, it was a doctor advising about condoms and pregnancy prevention. For Tim Keyes, who came out as gay at age 17, it’s when doctors automatically assumed he sleeps with women. Ask any LGBTQ patient about awkward doctor visits and chances are they’ll have a story to tell. When being heterosexual is presumed even in doctors’ offices, those who identify otherwise can feel marginalized and...

This is a trend that’s been building for quite a few years and it shows no signs of slowing down any time soon. A new study reveals that the two states losing the most residents in 2017 and 2018 were once again New York and New Jersey. And who were the big winners in population gains? You might think it would be Texas and Florida, but you’d be wrong. Both of them did see impressive increases, but the biggest winners in the population wars were Arizona, Idaho and Utah. (CBS New York) A new study finds that New York...

The first academic semester of 2020 has only recently gotten underway, and colleges and universities around the country seem to be competing with one another in a feverish race to prove which is most committed to advancing the prevailing leftist dogma of the day. The College Fix, a student-led campus watchdog publication, is an excellent resource for anyone interested in keeping apprised of the current scene in academia. It’s a particularly invaluable source for parents who are considering investing tens of thousands of dollars into their children’s “education.” Consider: At Dartmouth College, an institution that charges $75,000 a year in...

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- President Donald Trump's job approval remains elevated at 49% in the latest Gallup poll, the same as in the previous poll and up five points from an early January poll conducted before Trump was acquitted by the Senate in his impeachment trial. As in the prior poll, conducted Jan. 16-29, the approval rating from the Feb. 3-16 poll reflects record polarization for a single Gallup poll, with 87 percentage points separating the ratings of Republicans (93%) and Democrats (6%). Forty-three percent of independents approve of Trump, the highest rating for him among the group to date.

NEW YORK, NY—The Bloomberg News Editorial Board has endorsed Mike Bloomberg for president. While other publications are endorsing multiple candidates or communists, Bloomberg Opinion says they've found the right man for the job: Mike Bloomberg. "He's a really swell guy," wrote the editorial team. "We always have a good time when good ol' Mike is around. His ideas are great, dogs and children love him, and honestly, it's our completely unbiased opinion that he's just the #1 man for the job. Vote Mike Bloomberg!" The team listed some of his greatest accomplishments: A record score of 18 on the golf...

The time when Palestinian leaders had the last word on Arab states ties with Israel is over. The new reality in the Middle East is that Iran, not Israel, is perceived as an existential threat to the Sunni-Arab states, particularly to those in the Gulf. In addition to security considerations, Arab states are also interested in trade relations with Israel, especially in Israeli technology. That said, we can also be certain that the same Arab states will continue to pay lip-service to the Palestinian cause, principally, to appease their domestic crowds in the name of Islamic solidarity and Arab unity....

Portugal’s parliament debated Thursday whether to allow euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide for terminally ill people, with lawmakers expected to vote to approve the procedures later in the day. Outside the parliament building in Lisbon, hundreds of people opposed to euthanasia waved banners and chanted “Sim a vida!” (“Yes to life!”). One banner said, “Euthanasia doesn’t end suffering, it ends life.” Some people held up crucifixes and religious effigies. Approval of one of the five bills being discussed would leave Portugal poised to become one of the few countries in the world permitting the procedures. But the country’s president is known...

A study of U.S. heart attack patients, researchers found that just one month in age made a difference in whether doctors performed bypass surgery. There may be something about a patient's age of 80 that makes doctors alter their heart attack treatment decisions -- consciously or not, new research suggests. In a study of U.S. heart attack patients, researchers found that just one month in age made a difference in whether doctors performed bypass surgery -- one of the treatments for the artery blockages that cause heart attacks. Among patients who had turned 80 within the past two weeks, just over...

Cher took another shot at President Donald Trump Wednesday, suggesting he’ll soon make good on his hyperbolic promise made in jest to shoot someone in New York City and get away with it. The 73-year-old singer often sounds off about Trump and the political landscape on her Twitter page. Wednesday was no exception as the outraged celebrity jabbed Trump’s detractors for referring to his actions as “unprecedented.” “Tired Of Hearing Ppl Say ‘THIS IS UNPRECEDENTED,’ Every time The [nut] Job In Chief’ Steps Over a Line That’s NEVER Been Crossed,” she wrote. “SOON The Crazy F- Will Shoot Someone on...

A campaign finance watchdog has filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission alleging Pete Buttigieg’s campaign illegally coordinated advertising with a super PAC. VoteVets, a super PAC that supports military veterans in politics and has thrown its support behind Buttigieg, bought more than $630,000 in television advertising in Nevada — a move that came one week after Buttigieg campaign strategist Michael Halle tweeted that the former South Bend, Indiana, mayor would benefit from his military record being on the airwaves in Nevada through the caucuses, which are on Feb. 22. The nonpartisan Campaign Legal Center, which works to lessen...

Raymond Ibrahim, a longtime and regular contributor to PJ Media, will be speaking about his book, Sword and Scimitar: Fourteen Centuries of War between Islam and the West, next week at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. This is significant: the War College first invited Mr. Ibrahim to speak last year; however, one week before his scheduled appearance in June 2019, a number of politically active Islamists—including CAIR, Linda Sarsour, etc.—protested wildly, including by presenting Ibrahim as a “white supremacist” who if allowed to speak would incite an “already racist and nationalist” American army to start randomly...

Posted on February 19, 2020February 19, 2020 by Msgr. Charles Pope A Test for Pridefulness None of us likes to think we are prideful. It’s always someone else; that guy over there is the arrogant one. One way of gauging is to ponder how well we accept being corrected. Consider the following verses from Proverbs:He who corrects an arrogant man earns insult; and he who reproves a wicked man incurs opprobrium. Reprove not an arrogant man, lest he hate you; reprove a wise man, and he will love you. Instruct a wise man, and he becomes still wiser; teach...

The feud between Amy Klobuchar and Pete Buttigieg boiled over in Wednesday's Democratic debate as the two moderate midwesterners attacked each other's qualifications and ended the evening with Klobuchar refusing to shake his hand. The two president candidates exchanged a series of sharp back-and-forths during the two hour debate that accumulated in Klobuchar deliberately giving Buttigieg a wide berth when the event ended, walking around him to exit the stage in such a way she would not interact with him. That also meant she didn't have to participate in the handshake candidates traditionally share when the night is over. Buttigieg...

As for America's annual Black History Month, actor Morgan Freeman spoke for many during this 2005 exchange with CBS's Mike Wallace on "60 Minutes": Wallace: "Black History Month, you find …" Freeman: "Ridiculous." Wallace: "Why?" Freeman: "You're going to relegate my history to a month?" Wallace: "Come on." Freeman: "What do you do with yours? Which month is White History Month? Come on; tell me." Freeman: "Stop talking about it. I'm going to stop calling you a white man. And I'm going to ask you to stop calling me a black man. I know you as Mike Wallace. You know...

Here's hoping 2020 is the best year yet!! Now that he has been forever acquitted, President Trump should put the failed partisan impeachment attempt behind him, then concentrate on winning the 2020 election with wide coattails. Then bide his time as the cases against the various coup plotters wind their way through the justice system. Highest priority political items: Win the election, hold the senate, take back the house!! And then continue the work of making America great again: Build the wall, enforce the law, deport them all!! End DACA!! End sanctuary cities!! End anchor babies!! Continue cutting regulations, cutting...

Do you ever feel like Luke Skywalker when he walks into the alien bar where the bizarre is portrayed as normal? Just considering a recent Democratic proposal in Alabama makes it feel as if we have awakened to find ourselves surrounded by drunken space creatures. It seems that a Democrat Alabama state legislator has lost her mind over new state laws that offer greater protections to preborn babies. Her response is for the Alabama government to require that every man over 50 and every father of three children to undergo forced sterilization. State Rep. Rolanda Hollis tweeted: "The Vasectomy bill...
