SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - U.S. immigration agents arrested two people at a Northern California courthouse, including a man detained in a hallway on his way to a hearing, flouting a new state law requiring a judicial warrant to make immigration arrests inside such facilities. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents made the arrests Tuesday at Sonoma County Superior Court, prompting an outcry from criminal justice and court officials who said the action undermines local authority and deters immigrants who are in the country illegally from participating in the U.S. justice system. ICE said California’s law doesn’t supersede federal law and “will...

I am one of the many women Mike Bloomberg’s company tried to silence through nondisclosure agreements. The funny thing is, I never even worked for Bloomberg. But my story shows the lengths that the Bloomberg machine will go to in order to avoid offending Beijing. Bloomberg’s company, Bloomberg LP, is so dependent on the vast China market for its business that its lawyers threatened to devastate my family financially if I didn’t sign an NDA silencing me about how Bloomberg News killed a story critical of Chinese Communist Party leaders. It was only when I hired Edward Snowden’s lawyers in...

In the months before he decided to run for president, Michael Bloomberg swore he wouldn’t take the plunge. Over and over, he told friends there was no place for him in the Democratic Party. He might have been right, to judge from the beating he took in Las Vegas. His first debate was the night he dreaded and while his race for the nomination isn’t DOA, the road to victory just got a lot tougher. His record and notorious past comments were easy pickings, and his rivals repeatedly aimed their fire at his billions, turning his wealth into a crime...

President Trump blasted Mike Bloomberg’s debate performance early Friday morning, calling the former New York City mayor’s showing “perhaps the worst in the history of debates.” Trump made his criticism on Twitter, hours after Bloomberg was used for target practice by his competitors on the debate stage in Las Vegas, Nevada. “Mini Mike Bloomberg’s debate performance tonight was perhaps the worst in the history of debates, and there have been some really bad ones,” Trump wrote in his tweet.

Multibillionaire Michael Bloomberg landed in Las Vegas like a highly anticipated show on the Strip. But when he took to the stage with five competitors for the Democratic presidential nomination Wednesday night, their debate immediately became an Ultimate Fighting Championship match. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., landed the most blows and won the night. Warren would not be ignored or denied. Warren flattened Bloomberg out of the gate using his own words against the former New York City mayor and he never recovered. As a result, voters got to see the real Warren, who was the front-runner last fall. And they...

Former Attorney General Eric Holder on Wednesday openly called for 18-year term limits for Supreme Court justices, lending his support to a push that has gained steam among Democrats amid the Trump administration’s rapid-fire federal judicial appointments — and the possibility of a looming Supreme Court vacancy. Holder, who once described himself as former President Barack Obama’s “wingman,” this week also took a shot at Attorney General Bill Barr, saying the current state of the Justice Department (DOJ) is a politicized “disaster.” Speaking Saturday at Pomona College’s Bridges Auditorium, in Claremont, Calif., Holder said: “I don’t think someone should have...

The way China counts confirmed cases of the virus changed for the second time in a week, muddling the data, confusing scientists and resulting in a drop in new infections. RIGHT NOW : Japan said two passengers who had been aboard a quarantined cruise ship have died. Here’s what you need to know: China again alters the methodology for counting coronavirus cases, as death toll rises to 2,118. Japan records deaths of two passengers who had been aboard a quarantined cruise ship. The first coronavirus patient in the United States has recovered. Chinese banks are lowering interest rates to soften...

Forget Lincoln and Douglas. Forget Nixon and Kennedy. Hell, forget the Athenians and the Melians back during the Peloponnesian War. Last night’s Democratic primary slagfest in Nevada was the greatest debate in all of human history. Oh, was it glorious — the sheer raging hostility spraying across the stage as every campaign besides the Bernie Sanders and Michael Bloomberg bids face the desperate possibility each might fade into the woodwork against the Bernie surge and the Bloomberg billions. It’s not that the gloves were off. No, my friends, everybody was wearing steel-tipped boots and going right for the crotch. Those...

Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg’s brother-in-law, Pastor Rhyan Glezman, slammed the Democratic hopeful for his comments Tuesday night, when the candidate claimed he doesn’t see “any compatibility” between supporting President Trump and the teachings in Scripture after declaring that God “does not belong to a political party.” “Yeah, in the height of intellectual dishonesty for Pete to make claims that there’s no compatibility with being a Christian and voting for Trump, [when] Pete, in fact, is the one who is pushing agendas and rhetoric that is against, clearly against Scripture,” Glezman said on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” on Wednesday. “Just everything...

Mikaela Spielberg, the 23-year-old daughter of famed Hollywood director Steven Spielberg, announced on Wednesday according to reports that she is now starring in porn videos. Mikaela Spielberg, who is the adopted daughter of the director and his actress wife Kate Capshaw, told the US Sun that her parents support her adult film career. Mikaela said that when she told her parents about her decision, they were “intrigued” but “not upset.” The Nashville, Tennessee, native also told the paper that she is a “sexual creature” and got tired of working day-to-day to earn a living. “I got really tired of not...

Amy Klobuchar asked Pete Buttigieg if he was calling her “dumb.” Bloomberg shut down Bernie Sanders by quipping that “the best-known socialist in the country happens to be a millionaire with three houses.” The Democrats’ showdown Wednesday night in Las Vegas repeatedly put Bloomberg in his primary rivals’ crosshairs as the surging billionaire made his debate-stage debut. But the conflagration quickly expanded into an all-out melée and easily the most aggressive debate of the nomination season to date, as each of the candidates took sharp and often personal shots at one another. The fight started out white-hot when, in her...

But former Obama administration national security adviser Susan Rice Rice challenged his decision not to publicly discuss Trump's Ukraine pressure campaign. Former national security adviser John Bolton said Wednesday he was surprised that Senate Republicans rejected his offer to testify in President Donald Trump's impeachment trial. But he said that even if he had testified, it wouldn't have changed the outcome of the trial because of how House Democrats handled their investigation. "I think the House committed impeachment malpractice," Bolton said at an event at Vanderbilt University with Susan Rice, who was national security adviser during the administration of former...

Gov. Gavin Newsom wants to make it easier for the government to force psychiatric treatment for people with mental illness and expand statewide a still-developing test program that allows officials to more easily take control over those deemed unable to care for themselves. In a State of the State address Wednesday devoted almost entirely to the issue of homelessness, the Democratic governor said the state should broaden those laws “within the bounds of deep respect for civil liberties and personal freedoms — but with an equal emphasis on helping people into the life-saving treatment that they need at the precise...

Her digestive system has been bothering her for awhile, and the bananas/rice/toast light stress diet hasn't helped it calm down and get back to normal. She viaited her doc earlier this week and is awaiting the results and should know by the end of the week what she's actually dealing with. Its weakened her and she's really tired of it. Any prayers are appreciated. Also for those who are praying for my dad, his recovery is on the slow up curve. He had a bout of inflammation that required steroids to bring down, he's back home and resting and eating...
