President Donald Trump’s longtime adviser Roger Stone will be sentenced Thursday despite a request by the defense attorneys for a delay, a federal judge overseeing his case ruled Tuesday.“I think that delaying this sentence would not be a prudent thing to do under all of the circumstances,” said Judge Amy Berman Jackson in a Tuesday telephone conference with lawyers. Jackson’s decision comes after all four prosecutors in Stone’s case resigned over the Justice Department reversing their recommended prison sentence of 87 to 108 months for the GOP operative. Trump took to Twitter on Tuesday condemning both the former prosecutors and Judge...

Danielle Outlaw, who took over Monday as Philadelphia’s new police commissioner, said the nail polish she wore this week had been among the last things on her mind on her first day on the job. But while making the rounds and introducing herself to the troops, Outlaw said, people kept pointing out that her black nail polish technically violated the department’s directives on appearance. So in one of her first official actions as top cop, Outlaw changed the rule to allow for more stylish nails. And during an interview Wednesday, one of her first since taking over, Outlaw — the...

Under the agreement, Space Adventures will use a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket and Crew Dragon vehicle to fly up to four passengers to Earth orbit. The trip will not visit the International Space Station. Instead, it will remain in orbit as a free-flying spacecraft. To date, Space Adventures has arranged eight orbital trips to the International Space Station for seven wealthy customers: Dennis Tito in 2001; South African entrepreneur Mark Shuttleworth in 2002; American entrepreneurs Greg Olsen in 2005 and Anousheh Ansari in 2006; Microsoft co-founder Charles Simonyi (twice) in 2007 and 2009; computer game developer Richard Garriott in 2008;...

  • Johns Hopkins Study: No Evidence ‘Assault Weapon’ Bans Reduce Mass Shootings

A study released by the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health declares there is no evidence “assault weapon” bans lead to a lower “incidence of fatal mass shootings.” The push for an “assault weapons” ban is central to the Democrats’ gun control agenda nationally and is front and center for Democrats at the state level in places like Arizona and Virginia. According to the Johns Hopkins study, researchers”did not find an independent association between assault weapon bans and the incidence of fatal mass shootings.” Researchers did claim licensing requirements like those in Connecticut help reduce the number of mass...

Rod Blagojevich, the New York Times reported Tuesday.Several Trump administration aides had claimed to ABC that the president is planning to grant the former governor clemency. Trump had previously hinted he was looking into commuting the 14-year sentence, which was originally handed down after Blagojevich was convicted of trying to sell the Senate seat of then-president elect Barack Obama in 2008, according to NBC Chicago. https://twitter.com/DailyCaller/status/1229845536511070209 “Yes, we commuted the sentence of Rod Blagojevich. he served eight years in jail, a long time. Trump commuted the remainder of Blagojevich’s 14-year prison term. the Illinois Democrat had begun serving that sentence in 2013 after he was found guilty of attempting to trade the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Barack Obama for money or favors. The president announced that he had issued pardons to Kerik and DeBartolo. Kerik, who oversaw the NYPD during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, pleaded guilty in 2009 to charges of felony tax fraud and lying to the government. He was released from federal prison in 2013.

Okay, to keep everyone in the loop and maybe keep me there, too-- Here is what is going on. Tomorrow I go into surgery to have a portal installed for them to be able to inject the chemo drugs into me. As to when that will start, I do not know as yet. Wednesday I go to the Corsicana Cancer Center to get set up for chemo and such I guess. I have been told that my chemo and radiation therapy will be for 6 to 8 weeks and them perhaps followed by more surgery. Monday I go up to...

I have two children in my life. Because of circumstances I can give the children excellent properties, but I have little liquidity. The deal has been you care you get. I realized if something happends to either of them, I am without enough liquidity to survive my old age. I wonder whether I can or should insure them for enough money to care for me in case something GOD FORBID happens to them. This is new territory for me. Your thoughts?

In the middle of the night past I felt a burning sensation traveling up my esophagus. This was followed by fits of coughing and sweats. I had eaten something that had gone rancid, probably either peanut butter, canned peanuts or cooking oil. Previous nights recently I had the same problem, which I believe came from cookies. My attack last night lasted about two hours instead of a more typical thirty minutes. I tried to deal with it by spitting out whatever I could, which was mainly mucus. In the past, things like spaghetti sauce, tortilla and potato chips have given...

Actress Rosario Dawson is adding intrigue to rumors about her sexuality. In an interview with Bustle, the star of “Briarpatch” clarified a 2018 Instagram post in which she paid homage to the LGBTQ community during Pride month. Many fans read between the lines and assumed that the social-media update was, in effect, her coming out. Dawson — who has been in a relationship with Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) since, she said, October 2018 — told the women’s website, “People kept saying that I [came out] . . . I didn’t do that. I mean, it’s not inaccurate, but I never did come...

The owner of Vince Young Steakhouse says homelessness in Austin is reaching a boiling point... The first real major incident that I had was I had my head split open,” Brown said in an interview. “We had a guy, he was knocking over tables on our patio.” When he called 911, he said the man believed to be homeless hit him in the head. He needed 13 stitches. Then about six months ago, he found a man relieving himself in the parking lot. When Brown asked him to leave, Brown said the man responded, “This is Austin. We can do...

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Rhonda Foxx, a candidate running for North Carolina's 6th District race, said she went to jail for a crime she did not commit. Now, Foxx is using that arrest as part of her campaign to win the Democratic primary on March 3. In a social media post, Foxx claimed she was the victim in the case, but the police narrative tells a different story. Foxx, who is one of five Democratic candidates in the race, posted her version of what happened. She said a neighbor at a Washington, D.C., apartment building assaulted her in September 2018, but...

A North Carolina appeals court on Tuesday blocked the state’s voter identification law from going into effect, finding it was a discriminatory attempt to suppress the black vote, in a victory for Democrats and voting rights advocates. The appeals court reversed a lower court decision that denied a preliminary injunction against a law requiring voters to produce a photo ID at the polls. The ruling puts the voter ID law on hold until the underlying lawsuit challenging it is decided, likely blocking it for the November 2020 general election. The law did include a provision allowing people without proper ID...

News that a male athlete was beaten by a girl would be a lighthearted human interest story in a sane world. Unfortunately, since falling down the rabbit hole of transgender theory, Chelsea Mitchell must now worry whether her victory on the track over a boy who identifies as female will jeopardize her court case. Mitchell is one of three Connecticut female athletes who are suing in federal court to bar boys who identify as females from competing in girls sports. On Friday, Canton High's Mitchell beat her transgender opponent, Terry Miller of Bloomfield High, by .02 seconds to win the...

If you were wondering how Nancy Pelosi has been handling the events of the past few months, it's safe to say she's not taking it well. She's been keeping a low profile after making a spectacle of herself at the 2020 State of the Union address, but over the weekend she gave an interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour that must be seen to be believed. If reality won't do what Nancy wants, she'll just deny it's happening to her. ~snip~ Amanpour: What about, though, the fact that the president seems liberated? And this is about Democratic politics, so I'm not...

The Utah Republican Party is reportedly considering multiple resolutions following Sen. Mitt Romney’s vote to convict President Donald Trump in the impeachment trial, including a resolution calling for his resignation. According to local Salt Lake City news outlet 2KUTV, “the Utah Republican Party has pending resolutions on Romney: one that expresses support for Trump’s acquittal, another that supports legislation to recall a U.S Senator and a third that calls for Romney to ‘immediately resign’ from office.” The Utah GOP will possibly vote on these resolutions on Saturday, February 29, the report also states. It is unclear what kind of support...
