California always loves the next new thing. And this summer’s West Coast sensation isn’t a breakout star from a surprise hit film, or the latest Apple gadget you didn’t know you needed.] It’s Pete Buttigieg. At least when it comes to political donors. This is an unexpected situation. Major Democratic funders out here are concentrated in two areas: Big Tech up north, Big Entertainment in the south. True to their business models, Hollywood usually leads with its heart while Silicon Valley billionaires drill down on numbers and probabilities. Those separate calculations don’t often add up to the same candidate. But...

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. — Jill Biden ribbed President Trump for his interest in Greenland during a speech at a Democratic fundraiser. The former second lady, on a two-day swing of the Carolinas, urged South Carolina Democrats in West Columbia on Saturday to recall what politics was like pre-Trump, a time when the commander in chief didn't issue surprise pronouncements on social media. "Just for a moment I want you to imagine that it's the summer of 2021," Biden, 68, told a crowd of about 50 gathered for a barbecue fundraiser by the Lexington County Democratic Party. "You wake up in...

Parkland shooting survivor and activist David Hogg declared that if he’s ever shot he wants activists to publicize photos of his corpse, and place it on the doorstep of the NRA’s headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia. The anti-gun March For Our Lives founder explained that if he’s ever shot he wants his death to be used to promote gun control, in a series of tweets issued on Sunday. He also created a hashtag his supporters can use to indicate that they too want their corpses leveraged for activism if they’re ever shot.

As the 2020 election approaches, it appears likely that we won’t get to see President Donald Trump’s tax returns anytime soon. House Democrats are becoming increasingly resigned to the idea that the battle over the president’s taxes will be a long slog, according to a report from Jeff Stein, Rachael Bade, and Jacqueline Alemany at the Washington Post. The White House has signaled it’s prepared to fight back at every turn. The court battle over Trump’s federal returns, even if Democrats do prevail, will probably drag on for months. And Democrats haven’t even asked for the president’s state tax returns...

Fox Business Network's Stuart Varney has a message for Americans, after a deluge of criticism of President Trump's performance at the G-7 meetings in France. "No matter what you read and hear from the media, this G-7 was all about Trump re-aligning the world -- reshaping the world economy with America's interests first and foremost," said Varney on Fox Nation's "My Take." After President Trump's news conference, at the conclusion of the summit on Monday, CNN's Jim Acosta said, "I think perhaps one of the biggest headlines coming out of this press conference that we just witnessed here in France...

August 27 2019 Memorial of Saint Monica Reading 1 1 Thes 2:1-8 You yourselves know, brothers and sisters, that our reception among you was not without effect.Rather, after we had suffered and been insolently treated,as you know, in Philippi,we drew courage through our Godto speak to you the Gospel of God with much struggle. Our exhortation was not from delusion or impure motives, nor did it work through deception. But as we were judged worthy by God to be entrusted with the Gospel, that is how we speak, not as trying to please men,but rather God, who judges our hearts.Nor, indeed, did we ever appear...

Many are the hissing heads of the polycephalic Donald Trump—at least according to the progressive Left and the NeverTrump Right, who see the president of the United States as some sort of mythical nightmare. Here are a few of his supposedly monstrous manifestations. Trump, the Profiteer Candidate Trump never really wanted to be president. His entire amateurish and buffoonish candidacy was designed only to enhance his brand. Once he was unexpectedly elected, Trump was more shocked than anyone, and quickly sought to maximize his profits from the Oval Office. Thus, followed the constant progressive evocation of the Emoluments Clause of...

President Trump took French President Emmanuel Macron’s Iran gambit in stride as the G-7 Summit wound to a close — probably because Trump saw that Macron’s real game was pure politics. The Frenchman’s policies have sent his own approval ratings into the tank. Nearly retired German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s coalition is on life support; Canadian Premier Justin Trudeau is reeling from a corruption scandal. Italy’s Giuseppe Conte announced his resignation days before the summit opened; Britain’s Boris Johnson just took over as prime minister and holds a paper-thin majority. Japan’s Shinzo Abe is the only G-7 leader whose grip on...

However, he wrote on Saturday that he is still dealing with the physical effects of playing football for so long. "Playing fullback since high school. Its takes too f---ing much to do anything. My brain is f---ing tired," McClain wrote. "@NFL i need...

At least one camera in the hallway outside the cell where authorities say registered sex offender Jeffrey Epstein hanged himself earlier this month had footage that is unusable, although other, clearer footage was captured in the area, according to three people briefed on the evidence gathered earlier this month. It was not immediately clear why some video footage outside Epstein’s cell is too flawed for investigators to use or what is visible in the usable footage. The incident is being investigated by the FBI and the Justice Department’s inspector general’s office, which are attempting to determine what happened and how...

But the benefits they gain from it—a calmer mind, a reduction in stress, for instance—help motivate them to keep pushing forward. But for 37-year-old Annabelle Winters, running through chronic illness hasn’t just given her a mental boost: It may have literally saved her life. Winters is a lifelong runner.
