Lagos, Nigeria (CNN)The US government is honoring an 83-year-old Muslim cleric who hid 262 Christians in his home and mosque during an attack in central Nigeria. Imam Abubakar Abdullahi, along with four religious leaders from Sudan, Iraq, Brazil and Cyprus, were awarded the 2019 the International Religious Freedom Award, which is given to advocates of religious freedom. Abdullahi was recognized for providing shelter for hundreds of Christians fleeing attacks from Muslim herdsmen who had launched coordinated attacks on Christian farmers in 10 villages in the Barkin Ladi area of Plateau State on June 23, 2018, the award organizers said in...

Shortened title. Full title: Flashback: Former Secretary of State John Kerry Admits Giving Hostile Instructions to Iran to Undermine U.S. Interests With Iran now openly engaged in hostile efforts against western maritime navigation, and hijacking western oil tankers, I find it remarkable -albeit predictable- how U.S. media refuse to reference Former Secretary of State John Kerry’s instructions to Iran just a few short months ago.

This weekend, Americans will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing, an event widely considered to be a pinnacle of human achievement, let alone American ingenuity. So, of course, it falls to the flagships of establishment journalism to complain about how white men dominated the program. In the Washington Post, style writer Karen Heller jokes, “In archival Apollo 11 photos and footage, it’s a ‘Where’s Waldo?’ exercise to spot a woman or person of color.” Without knowing it, she indicts America more than she does the space program. Keller writes: “As NASA worked relentlessly to fulfill John...

The new Marine Air Defense Integrated System (MADIS) used is a combination of components that includes electronic jammers, radars and gun systems to take out UAVs. The version of the system aboard Boxer was mounted on an MRZR that was perched on the bow of the ship and was powered by a gasoline electrical generator, according to photos released from the service. The Marine Corps did not immediately respond to a request for additional information on the system. The encounter is the first known kill by a new generation of electronic warfare and directed energy weapons the U.S. has developed...

A gut-wrenching photograph late last month of a father and daughter in the Rio Grande – while attempting to cross from Mexico into the United States – sharply exacerbated existing tensions over the ongoing border and migration crisis dividing Americans. But while politicians and Presidential hopefuls expressed their outrage and pointed fingers at the Trump administration, official data indicates that Mexico-U.S. border deaths have actually declined in the first two years of the current administration. According to statistics compiled by the United States Border Patrol, there were 298 border deaths in 2017 and 283 in 2018, making it an average...

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is warning that Russian agents could seek to further divide Americans by exploiting U.S. passions over whether pineapple belongs on pizza. It's a cheesy, playful warning -- but it's trying to deliver a serious message. Posted online Wednesday by the department's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the tongue-in-cheek warning aims to help Americans identify and protect against propaganda campaigns from Russia and other foreign adversaries. After all, the DHS warning says, Russian agents are capable of simultaneously insisting online that "Being anti-pineapple is un-American!" while also pushing out posts saying "Millennials are ruining...

Conservative media has gotten immensely better in the few years thanks to our fearless leader, the POTUS VSG. Enormous experimentation is going on, as viewers/listeners break away from TV and radio to explore new media that's light on ads and can be accessed on the fly. So who are the rising conservatives stars in new media? Here are a few of my favorites: Scott Adams's Coffee with Scott Adams is routinely one of the most insightful on the psychology and strategy in American politics. And Scott is user-friendly since his MP3 podcasts can be downloaded easily and you can read...

Q is the result of the sacrifices and commitment of countless patriots to win back our captured country from the Deep State and achieve the transformation President Trump promised in this campaign video. President Trump has said the awakening of the public is key to this transformation. Q describes this awakening as follows: "The Great Awakening ('Freedom of Thought’), was designed and created not only as a backchannel to the public (away from the longstanding ‘mind’ control of the corrupt & heavily biased media) to endure future events through transparency and regeneration of individual thought (breaking the chains of...

If you’re “so over” paper straws, you have company in the Trump campaign — and can shell out $15 to show it. The president’s re-election campaign store is selling what it has branded “Trump Straws,” which it’s billing as an alternative to “liberal paper straws” that “don’t work.” A pack of 10 goes for $15. And while they’re not paper, the campaign does say they’re BPA free — as well as reusable and recyclable. “Making Straws Great Again,” tweeted Brad Parscale, President Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign manager, with a link to the store. In a separate tweet, Parscale said he...

The box of prescription drugs had been forgotten in a back closet of a retail pharmacy for so long that some of the pills predated the 1969 moon landing. Most were 30 to 40 years past their expiration dates — possibly toxic, probably worthless. But to Lee Cantrell, who helps run the California Poison Control System, the cache was an opportunity to answer an enduring question about the actual shelf life of drugs: Could these drugs from the bell-bottom era still be potent? Cantrell called Roy Gerona, a University of California, San Francisco researcher who specializes in analyzing chemicals. Gerona...

RUSH: Another press gaggle at the White House. What do you think the question was? “Mr. President, what’s your reaction to the people who attended your rally who were chanting ‘send her back,’ what’s your reaction?” At some point, do you not say, “Stop this. I’ve answered this question, and you’re just trying to set me up again and again. Screw you. Next question.” How many days has this question been asked now? BREAK TRANSCRIPT RUSH: This is Tina in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. It’s great to have you. I really appreciate your patience, too. CALLER: Thank you...

Why is it that so many black democrats get on TV and spew vile hatred for America and especially for white people? Most black people I meet in person are just as nice and polite as they can be and all black conservatives I've listened to on radio or TV love America and have no racial animosity whatsoever.

There’s something about cameras that seems to divide our nation, while at the same time pointing out dizzying differences in terms of how we evaluate the technology based on who is using it. We already know that privacy advocates (for lack of a better term) hate facial recognition software when it’s used by law enforcement of any kind. However, most of them don’t seem to have any problems with Facebook and other social media apps “tagging†them and their friends at the latest party. Speed cameras are also seen as being evil, even if they do occasionally catch violent felons...

President Donald Trump delivered a haymaker to the bully freshman House of Representative class of Democrats when he told them to shut up or get out. He took an old political phrase and served it with blue-collar articulation—half-cooked and cold. You know the phrase, “America, Love it or Leave it.” Remember when it was on bumper stickers and buttons? It was a phrase to remind Anti-American subversives who were at the time not just critical of America but were intent on destroying the very fabric of our country. Well, sadly, they are back and will destroy our county—if we let...

A British-flagged oil tanker was seized by Iran on Friday night and was heading towards a Revolutionary Guard base, in a major escalation of tensions along one of the world's most vital oil shipping routes. The Stena Impero had been en route to Saudi Arabia but made an abrupt change of course and began moving towards the Iranian island of Qeshm, according to data relayed by maritime tracking services. The ship “went dark”, meaning its identification system was turned off, at 16:29 UK time and nothing has been heard from her or her 23 crew since. Northern Marine, a Clyde-based...

Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib will be admitted to Israel as part of a congressional trip in the coming weeks. Early reporting suggested that the two lawmakers could be denied entry for their outspoken support of boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement against Israel. The Israeli government announced on Friday, however, that they would not block the American congresswomen from entering the country. Israeli Ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer explained, "Out of respect for the U.S. Congress and the great alliance between Israel and America, we would not deny entry to any member of Congress into Israel." Both congresswomen...

The Democratic Party press is desperately trying to cover up for Ilhan Omar. Perhaps the most laughable example is the New York Times, whose “fact check” I intend to write about later, when I have time. But the coverup is, I think, hopeless. Hundreds of thousands of people have read the post we did yesterday morning authored by David Steinberg. It is everywhere on Twitter and Facebook and has been linked by any number of popular web sites, most recently Real Clear Politics. The Democratic Party press is averting its eyes, but they can’t keep the secret. Last night, Tucker...

Thursday, Aug. 15. Mark this date on your calendar. A very good source of mine says a report from Inspector General Michael Horowitz of the Justice Department on spying and other nastiness during the 2016 presidential election will be out by then. And, I believe, it will be a blockbuster. So investors and all Americans might want to fasten their seat belts starting that week. It could be a rocky ride for the markets from then into the fall.

Among the most politically potent arguments for President Trump’s punitive tariffs on your, my and other Americans’ purchases of imports from China is the claim that these tariffs are a tool for reducing Chinese theft of Americans’ intellectual property (IP).While IP theft in China does occur, as my Mercatus Center colleague Daniel Griswold and I argue in a recent paper, this theft provides far less justification for Trump’s tariffs than is commonly believed.First, the extent of such theft is overblown. Much of this “theft†is in fact in-kind taxation. Beijing requires that certain foreign companies seeking to do business...
