President Donald Trump released a statement Friday denying that he sexually assaulted E. Jean Carroll, who accused the president of attacking her in the 1990s. Carroll claimed in a New York Magazine column published Friday that Trump raped her in a Bergdorf Goodman dressing room in Manhattan, New York. The accusation is an excerpt from Carroll’s upcoming book, “What Do We Need Men For? A Modest Proposal,” in which the columnist states that Trump urged her to try on lingerie and then pushed her against a wall before penetrating her. (RELATED: Columnist E. Jean Carroll Says Trump Raped Her In...

Immigration agents will target Miami, Atlanta, Chicago, Baltimore, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York City, and San Francisco this weekend, sources from congressional offices and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement told the Miami Herald. Earlier this week, a Trump administration official confirmed that ICE will specifically target for deportation as many as 1 million people “who have been issued final deportation orders by federal judges yet remain at large in the country.”

There is an interesting case about the political autonomy of the Electoral College working its way through the appeals process. In 2016, four Washington State electors voted for someone other than Hillary Clinton, joining three others that elected not to vote for the nominee their states’ popular votes chose. Washington State decided to enforce its law requiring the Evergreen State’s electors to vote for the Democratic Party’s official choice. Last week I wrote about how the Progressive Movement transformed the United States, about a century ago, from a republic to a democracy. “Faithless elector” laws were a part of that...

Bernie Sanders, Liz Warren talk decriminalizing prostitution WASHINGTON – The two progressive presidential candidates backing Queens District Attorney candidate Tiffany Cabán are also backing her on one of her signature issues. Cabán wants to decriminalize sex work, arguing that the current laws go after people who are destabilized by the current economic system. “This is literally how they put food on their tables,” Cabán said in a debate Tuesday. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) – who endorsed Cabán Wednesday – said he was open to the idea as well. “Bernie believes that decriminalization is certainly something that should be considered,” Sanders’...

The values that made me a supporter of RFK in 1968 put me at odds with today’s progressives. Lauren Cantin sang the anthem prior to the Dodgers 9-8 win over the San Francisco Giants. The Thomas Fire... scorched 281,000 acres and destroyed more than 750 homes...set the stage for the deadly mudslides which hit the Santa Barbara County enclave of Montecito in January of 2018, when a storm triggered flash floods on hillsides ravaged by the Thomas Fire, killing at least 21 people, destroyed or damaged hundreds of homes, and shutting down the 101 Freeway for weeks. Cantin was buried in mud for eight hours when the mudslides hit her family’s home, but she survived in an air...

[Catholic Caucus] EWTN’s “Papal Posse” blasts working doc for Amazon Synod WASHINGTON, D.C., June 21, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) ― The working document for the Amazon Synod has Catholics wondering if the bishops’ meeting isn’t just a sneaky way of introducing married priests and female ordination. Last night on EWTN’s “The World Over,” journalist Raymond Arroyo and canon lawyer Fr. Gerald Murray, who together form the “Papal Posse,” told host Raymond Arroyo that they have problems with the “Instrumentum Laboris” for these and other reasons. The working document for October’s Synod in the Vatican was released on Monday, June 17. Its English...

This week the profoundly ignorant Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) asserted that persons illegally entering the United States "are being held in concentration camps." Among the atrocities inflicted are "widespread boredom and inappropriate menus. Few know that there is a serious shortage of TVs and that meals are prepared without considering the ethnicity of the recipients." When critics objected to her characterization, she alleged that "most people don't know that the government put Japanese people in concentration camps during WWII." This slander was joined by nattering nincompoop George Takei. The aging Star Trek actor and gay-rights agitator alleged that "I know...

Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., took aim at President Trump for calling illegal immigrants "aliens," and accused the current administration of dehumanizing immigrants. "No one is an 'alien,'" she tweeted. She was responding to Trump announcing that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) would "begin the process of removing the millions of illegal aliens who have illicitly found their way into the United States." "Dehumanizing immigrants and tearing apart families will not make us any stronger. It will only destroy lives, traumatize children, and make our country less safe," Omar also said. A far-left group backed by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is supporting a political newcomer to unseat a 30-year Democratic New York congressman who called out Rep. Ilhan Omar over anti-Semitism. Justice Democrats, a group that initially recruited Ocasio-Cortez to run against former Rep. Joe Crowley, is targeting Rep. Eliot Engel. REP. COLLINS ON AOC'S 'APPALLING' CRITICISM OF BORDER FACILITIES: IT'S EITHER 'BLISSFUL IGNORANCE' OR ANTI-SEMITISM The candidacy of Jamaal Bowman, a 43-year-old public middle school teacher, was put forward by Justice Democrats in a continued effort to elect more progressive Democrats to Congress, the New York Times reported. A photo recently snapped by NASA’s Curiosity rover, which roams the vast wind-swept expanses of Mars, has captured the sight of a peculiar phenomenon which looks like a flash of white light of unclear origin. The raw image, in black-and-white, was taken by the rover’s right “navcam” on 16 June

In recent years, small drones have made their way onto battlefields where they’ve been used to surveil US forces or drop bombs on them, prompting the US military to develop new ways to take them down. This week, the US Air Force unveiled a new tool that can be stationed at bases around the world: a high-powered microwave system called Tactical High Power Microwave Operational Responder (THOR), which is designed to protect bases against swarms of drones. The Air Force Research Laboratory at the Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico, developed the system, which uses short bursts...

Poor governance and privacy concerns have knocked Facebook out of an influential ethics index that tracks socially responsible companies. Standard & Poor's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Index said that it had booted Facebook after the company scored poorly for social responsibility and governance, achieving 22 and 6, respectively, out of 100. Facebook's disappointing results were due to a number of privacy concerns at the social network in recent years including “a lack of transparency as to why Facebook collects and shares certain user information”, said Reid Steadman, S&P's social and governance chief. This includes allowing more than 150 companies...

Count Vlad does a serene piece of water music. With all the tension in the air with Iran it is better to act wisely, which is what Trump is doing. He is making the right calculations and weighing his options. (I suspect the Mullahs want a war to muster their people and take their minds off the hardships of their terrible regime before it tumbles on its own accord. Trump is smart to realize this move and he will act proportionately.) So we should relax and enjoy some of the Count's water music. If you enjoy this music please subscribe...

The somewhat disturbing news from last night involved Iran once again. Yesterday I was pondering what our response would be to Iran shooting down one of our drones. Surely some sort of meaningful action was called for, but what form would it take? Now we may (or may not) have found out what was on the agenda before allegedly being rejected at the last minute. Assuming the reporting of the New York Times can be taken at face value (a big assumption, which I’ll get to in a moment), we were set for air strikes against Iran until the President...

Instead of listening to the concerns of some who felt the term “concentration camps” conjures up images of the Holocaust, Ocasio-Cortez doubled down by tweeting numerous Jews who agreed. Despite the fact that politicians like U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and presidential candidates U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) have made it a point to call out the top 0.1%, not everyone agrees with their philosophies. Billionaire Mark Cuban implied that had they been as successful as him, they might not have as much to say about the ultra-wealthy. He remarked that AOC’s criticism of capitalism is “headline porn” and noted the fact she started a business, a now-defunct publisher called Brook Avenue Press. “Bernie Sanders has a book business, you know, Elizabeth Warren...
