The United States is at a crossroads with an increasingly aggressive China, which could define America’s security and the international order for decades to come, Hoover scholar Victor Davis Hanson says. Hanson, the Martin and Illie Anderson Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution, studies military history and the classics. Last year, Hanson won the Edmund Burke Award, which honors people who have made major contributions to the defense of Western civilization. He is the author of the 2019 book The Case for Trump, and 2017's The Second World Wars. He was recently interviewed on US policy toward China: What is the Trump strategy behind these tariffs, short term...

Today’s Campaign Update, Part II (Because The Campaign Never Ends) Dar Adol…er…John Brennan, ex-CIA chief and current sedition-bleater on MSNBC and Twitter, was on Capitol Hill on Tuesday. He was there at the invitation to “brief” the Democrats on the situation with Iran. This despite the fact that the seditious ex-spook was defrocked of his security clearance by President Donald Trump last summer. No doubt sensing an opportunity for high entertainment, Fox News host Martha MacCallum invited the very plain-spoken Louisiana Senator John Kennedy on her show to comment both on Brennan’s visit to the Hill and the ongoing tensions...

On Tuesday, 2020 Democrat Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) continued her cringe-inducing appeal to millennials with a tag-team video about Game of Thrones. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) joined her, to bash the show for not being feminist enough. Their pop culture analysis mimics the gender pay gap complaints by focusing on equal outcomes rather than equal opportunity and character development. Spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 6 below. "I feel like we were getting so close to having this ending with just women running the world and then the last two episodes … it’s like, ‘Oh, they’re too emotional....

North Korea criticized Joe Biden as a "fool of low IQ" after the presidential hopeful called the country's leader Kim Jong Un a "dictator and tyrant." The country's official state news agency released a statement that said Biden was "an imbecile bereft of elementary quality as a human being." "The presidential candidate from the Democratic Party during his recent election campaigning reeled off rhetoric slandering the supreme leadership of [North Korea]," the Korean Central News Agency said. "What he uttered is just sophism of an imbecile bereft of elementary quality as a human being, let alone a politician."

Mayor Pete Buttigieg is out of the closet — as leader of the Dred Scott Democrats. Recall the infamous 1857 Dred Scott decision, handed down by the then-Chief Justice of the Supreme Court — the staunch Democrat Roger Taney, bold print for emphasis supplied: We think […] that [black people] are not included, and were not intended to be included, under the word “citizens” in the Constitution, and can therefore claim none of the rights and privileges which that instrument provides for and secures to citizens of the United States. On the contrary, they were at that time [of the...

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem (Old Testament) 1 Kings 2 David’s Charge to Solomon 2 When the time drew near for David to die, he gave a charge to Solomon his son. 2 “I am about to go the way of all the earth,” he said. “So be strong, act like a man, 3 and observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go 4 and that...

OK, This week, BS "This Morning" started with their new crew. Don't ask me why (my wife) this is on in our house. Probably because we enjoy the local CBS news station in the morning for local weather and updates in our area and it gets left on. Anyway, CBS had a big shakeup due to being LAST in the morning and LAST in the evening news with Jeff Glor (Who nobody ever heard of after years) being replaced by equally vacant headed NorDUH O'Donnell. Here's my take on the new morning show. UNWATCHABLE

Just a week after entering, de Blasio is already neck-and-neck with such presidentil wannabes as ...... "Seth Moulton and Wayne Messam." The mayor is struggling to crack the top 20 (out of 23) to qualify for a Democratic debate next month and admits, “I’m not setting the expectation that I’ll be in it.” He needs to hit 1% in three serious polls (as judged by the DNC), plus fundraising targets, such as getting 200 donors from at least 20 different states. De Blasio’s first excuse will be that he’s such a late entry. But showing up late (and often uninvited)...

Neo-Cons Beat the Drums Against Iran War The false meme behind the attacks on John Bolton. May 22, 2019 Daniel Greenfield 17 FrontPage Comments Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is an investigative journalist and writer focusing on the radical Left and Islamic terrorism. When archeologists dig through blue state landfills, and reach the strata of the Bush years, they’ll find copies of Dude, Where’s My Country, Radiohead’s Hail to the Thief, and a million newspapers accusing the “neocons” of “beating the drums of war”. Unlike Michael Moore and Radiohead, there’s still a drumbeat of...

Many believe that assurance of eternal salvation is neither possible nor even to be sought. To claim such assurance is considered a mask of supreme arrogance, the nadir of self-conceit. Yet if God declares that it is possible to have full assurance of salvation and even commands that we seek after it, it would be supremely arrogant for one to deny or neglect it. In fact, God does command us to seek certainty about our salvation: “Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never...

Hanover, N.H., Deputy Fire Chief Michael Hinsley in the woods with Mink the bear. For years, an elderly resident of Hanover, N.H., fed one particular female black bear. The old man's food offer of choice? Birdseed and maple-glazed doughnuts from a diner down the street. Then the man died, and the bear started venturing out farther in search of more delicious treats. She had become comfortable around humans, and people in town grew to love her — a lumbering, strong but gentle animal that would come right up to your door. She's named Mink, after a local natural area called...

Lightning was originally suspected as the possible cause of the fire that severely damaged Lola on the Lake at Bde Maka Ska in Minneapolis last Thursday, but now arson is the suspected cause. Minneapolis Police Department issued a call for the public's help Monday to identity two people "in connection to the fire early Thursday morning" at the popular lakeside cafe. Police say the duo, pictured below, were at the pavilion between 3-3:30 a.m. when the fire started. The photo at the top of the story appears to show them starting the fire. "Anyone with information regarding the identity of...

Fox News host Tucker Carlson took issue on Tuesday with Planned Parenthood of New York City president Laura McQuade’s contention that “transgender men” can get pregnant. During Tuesday night’s episode of his show, Tucker began his remarks on the subject by quoting McQuade at a Tuesday abortion rally. “In the middle of an abortion rally today, Laura McQuade, who runs Planned Parenthood, made a remarkable claim,” Carlson said. “Restrictions on abortion she said are, quote: ‘Not just an attack on women, but an attack on anyone who can or might get pregnant, including transgender men and gender non-conforming people.'”

The core democratic principle is that people should have a meaningful say in political decisions that affect their lives. In Alabama, we’ve just seen what the opposite of democracy looks like: 25 white male Republicans in the state senate were able to ban almost all abortion in the state

HANOVER — U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., focused on what she said were bipartisan and forward-thinking policy proposals on Sunday evening in a forum on the changing economy at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.(snip) “We are in a new gilded age,” said Klobuchar, who in her talk also cautioned against the “dangers of big” and called for a greater review of mergers, including some that have already taken place.(snip) Klobuchar argued that America needs to work towards “capitalism for shared prosperity” and that the country should be wary of backroom deals that diminish economic competition. The debate over whether KDE or GNOME is the better Linux desktop has been going on since before the turn of the century. Actually, it boils down to choice and what works best for you. SOURCE: Pixabay Novelist Hugh MacLennan once described Canada as “two solitudes” — an English-speaking one and a French-speaking one, neither of which had much to do with the other. The description is decades out-dated, and today a dozen solitudes might be more accurate. However, the phrase echoes in my mind whenever I think of the gulf today between GNOME technologies and KDE software compilations. Although...
