For impatient travelers, the next wave of air transportation could be a game-changer. Aerospace company Hermeus Corporation recently announced that it has obtained funding to pursue development of a plane that could travel five times faster than the speed of sound, getting passengers from New York to London in just 90 minutes. But it won't be a cheap flight, and the idea isn't without some baggage. The venture, which was founded by former employees of private space travel companies like Elon Musk’s SpaceX and Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin, is seeking to craft a plane that can travel at Mach 5...

May 20, 2019 (LifeSiteNews) — The coffee meet-and-greet on Saturday, May 18 was supposed to be low-key. MPP Sam Oosterhoff was scheduled to show up at the Grimsby branch of the Canadian legion at 9 A.M., where constituents could show up with questions or concerns or just to say hello. A group of abortion activists, however, had other plans, none of which involved actually asking questions or expressing concerns in polite or civilized manner. Enraged by Oosterhoff’s recent speech at the Toronto March for Life, they decided to show their displeasure. A few dozen men and women descended on the...

There was a horse-race the other day where one of the horses threw off its jockey at the beginning of the horse race called the Preekness and the riderless horse finished the race nevertheless. The jockey was a short little guy and that might have had something to do with him being thrown off. Maybe if the jockey was strong, tall and heavy, he or she would have held on? Anyway, if the riderless horse went ahead and won the race, would it count as a victory? I'm thinking that without the additional weight of a jockey, the horse would...

Alabama state Sen. Vivian Figures, D-Mobile filed a bill on Tuesday to repeal Alabama’s abortion ban law. "There are consequences for every decision we make as legislators, and for every vote we cast there are ramifications,” Figures said in a release. “However, some of these effects are unintended and I truly believe this has been the case for SB314. I do not believe my Republican colleagues had any idea what the consequences for passing this bill would be.” false Figures cited criticism from across the state as well as from President Donald Trump, Sen. Mitt Romney and 700 Club Founder...

[Catholic Caucus] Bishop Conlon Showcases Sexual Predator Bishop Ryan Bp. Ryan's pictures hang in foyer and sacristy of Joliet's cathedral JOLIET, Ill. (ChurchMilitant.com) - Faithful Catholics are outraged that Bp. R. Daniel Conlon is displaying two pictures of the late sexual predator Bp. Daniel Ryan in prominent locations at his cathedral in Joliet, Illinois and has a scrubbed version of Ryan's biography on Joliet's diocesan website. The featured image above is of the disgraced former bishop of Springfield, Illinois as it's showcased in the foyer of St. Raymond Nonnatus, called the "Mother Church of the Catholic Diocese of Joliet." This is in spite of the fact that Ryan's immediate successor in...

Of all the wild tales that Christopher Steele spun about Russia-Trump collusion during a visit to the State Department shortly before the 2016 election, only one was deemed worth forwarding to his FBI handlers. Long hidden, the now-disclosed email speaks volumes about both the quality of Steele’s so-called intelligence gathering and the FBI’s willingness to vet an informant who was openly biased against Donald Trump, paid by Trump’s Democratic opponent, and motivated by an Election Day deadline. Multiple sources confirm to me that the attachment that Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Kathleen Kavalec sent to then-FBI section chief Stephen Laycock...

A cold, wet spring that caused record slow corn planting has the 2019 crop squarely behind the 8-ball. To recover lost potential, production must run the table with near-perfect conditions the rest of the growing season. Otherwise, a smaller crop could wipe out much of the surplus USDA forecasts for the coming year. While the slow start doesn’t doom the crop, the unusual political and economic environment of 2019 could make recovery more difficult than in other years with major delays. Related: USDA crop progress: Corn fails to reach the halfway mark USDA reported only 49% of the crop planted...

Florida congressman Matt Gaetz revealed Monday night that "most compelling" evidence in the Trump-Russia collusion investigation is days, if not weeks away. According to Gaetz, R-Fla., secret unreleased transcripts involving former Trump aide George Papadopoulos reveal that he denied there was an illegal conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia and that intelligence officials did not present that information to the FISA court. TRUMP PRODS NADLER, SCHIFF to PROBE 'CROOKED HILLARY' AND 'PHONY' RUSSIA INVESTIGATION "I believe we are days if not weeks aways for the most in compelling evidence in the biggest political scandal in American history," Gaetz said...

Lilian Serrano’s mother-in-law had lots of stomach problems, but she always blamed food. Doctors at a San Diego-area clinic suspected Genoveva Angeles might have cancer, but they could not say for sure because they did not have the equipment to test for it and Angeles, who had been in the country illegally for 20 years, could not afford to see a specialist and did not qualify for state assistance because of her immigration status.

It has been far too long since an OEM took a risk on the design of its wheels. There are only a handful of differently stylized wheels on the market today, most unfortunately featuring some variety of twist design—please pardon me while I attempt to keep my lunch down. Aston Martin’s new DBS Superleggera, inspired by 007 himself, features a striking shade of gold-tinted olive green paint and wheels meant to ape the wire spokes Bond rode on 50 years ago in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. It has been quite a while since an OEM has released a new...
