No Mor Chikin: Johns Hopkins Students Ban Chick-fil-A From Campus By Ashley Jakubczyk The students of Johns Hopkins University have a message for Chick-fil-A: No, thank you. The university’s Student Government Association approved a resolution this week saying that university officials should pick “other non-discriminatory options” and rule out any “current and future Chick-fil-A development plans” if searching for new dining vendors on campus. In the resolution, which passed 18 to 8, the SGA stated that having a Chick-fil-A location on campus would be a “microaggression” toward the campus community, including “visiting prospective and current students, staff, faculty, and other...

Ethics: With each day, new revelations call into question Hillary Clinton's behavior during her tenure as secretary of state and after. It's time for her to suspend her campaign and start answering questions. When even the left-wing media notice a leading Democrat's apparent ethical lapses, she has a real problem. And so does the Democratic Party, which as of now has all its bets for 2016 placed on Hillary Clinton, who, Peter Schweizer's upcoming book "Clinton Cash" suggests, may have engaged in corrupt behavior in office.

ABC's Good Morning America, hosted by former Bill Clinton operative George Stephanopoulos, on Friday skipped any mention of the growing scandal involving foreign donations to the foundation of Bill and Hillary Clinton. Yet, the lengthy program found plenty of time for superficial topics. GMA's hosts devoted 12 minutes and 35 seconds to the coming Avengers sequel. It should be noted that Disney owns Marvel Studios, the company releasing the film. Unsurprisingly, Disney also owns ABC. (An onscreen graphic briefly noted this. See below.) The program allowed three minutes and seven seconds on when Britain's latest royal baby will be born....

Revelations, accusations and pushback have come thick and fast over a forthcoming book focused on the financial interests of Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton and the Clinton Foundation. But many of the details have been difficult to follow. Here’s what you need to know. The basics Clinton Cash, by Peter Schweizer, a fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, will be published on May 5. The book entered the spotlight on Monday when The New York Times published an extensive account of its contents, describing it as “the most anticipated and feared book of a presidential cycle still in its infancy.” The...

An Arctic death spiral? An Antarctic meltdown? Maybe not, according to the latest global sea ice data that shows the Arctic retreating while simultaneously the Antarctic is gaining. The phenomenon was noted by climate scientist Dr. Roger Pielke, Sr., who tweeted out a chart of sea ice levels showing that while Arctic sea ice levels may be low, sea ice from the south pole is booming, leading to a resurgence of global sea ice levels to well above normal.

Three people were arrested Tuesday after the Lawrence County Drug Task Force served a search warrant at a home in the 2600 block of Tunnelton Road. According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers from both the Bedford Police Department and Lawrence County Sheriff's Department SWAT Team executed the warrant. "Working on information received about illegal drug activity at the home officer secured a search warrant," Parsley says. "When officers arrived there were three people in the home and all three were arrested after officers found various amounts of meth, heroin, firearms, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a large amount of...

The left is winning, but for the left winning is indistinguishable from dying. The West didn’t defeat Communism; it held it at bay long enough for it to defeat itself. The Soviet Union and the People’s Republic of China crushed Communism more decisively than Goldwater could have ever dreamed of.

Newly released California Highway Patrol dashcam video shows an impaired California State Senator Ben Hueso undergoing sobriety tests and answering questions before his August arrest. In the footage, the San Diego senator is seen driving the wrong way onto a one-way street in Sacramento on Aug. 22. He quickly U-turns, but a CHP officer is quickly on his tail, pulling him over at a nearby gas station. Hueso gets out of his car and is asked to do field sobriety tests. At the officer’s request, he walks back and forth in a straight line. He is then asked to do...

Ator Mark Ruffalo posted a link to an investigation based on Peter Schweizer’s new exposé Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments Helped Make Bill and Hillary Rich on his Twitter page Thursday, a possible signal that Schweizer’s book has penetrated the Hollywood establishment’s liberal entertainment elites. In his post, the Avengers star took a jab at presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, calling Clinton’s involvement in the newly revealed Uranium One scandal a “problem” and reiterating his desire to see Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren challenge Clinton for the Democratic nomination in 2016. “This’s the problem! #RunWarrenRun,” Ruffalo...

Explanation: Lapping at rocks along the shore of the Island of Nangan, Taiwan, planet Earth, waves are infused with a subtle blue light in this sea and night skyscape. Composed of a series of long exposures made on April 16 the image captures the faint glow from Noctiluca scintillans. Also known as sea sparkles or blue tears, the marine plankton's bioluminescence is stimulated by wave motion. City lights along the coast of mainland China shine beneath low clouds in the west but stars and the faint Milky Way still fill the night above. Over the horizon the galaxy's central bulge...

A world free of genocide will be on their minds — and comfortable shoes on their feet — when people of conscience meet Sunday morning outside of Santa Rosa’s Congregation Shomrei Torah. They’ll take part in the Walk Against Genocide, created seven years ago by a 14-year-old boy who’d become aware of the mass killings in Darfur and felt compelled to act. Since then, the walk Gabe Ferrick founded has raised more than $100,000 for relief to survivors of genocide in Darfur, Congo and elsewhere, and for advocacy to resolve the issues that can lead to mass killings. Participants in...

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Friday called on Hillary Clinton to return all donations that foreign governments made to the Clinton Foundation, amid ongoing worries that those donations influenced U.S. foreign policy when Clinton was secretary of State. “The Clinton Foundation collected tens of millions of dollars from foreign governments including donors who had business interests with the State Department while Clinton was secretary,” Cruz said. “She made decisions in that capacity that likely benefitted the same people who were giving large donations to the foundation.” “At the very least, these revelations present a clear conflict of interest,” he added....

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX 5) – The people who want us to use less water are part of a system that could be among the biggest water wasters in San Francisco. That system is in hot water, because of hot water. “After the water is heated up, the condensated water is then discharged into the sewer system,” said Tyrone Jue of the San Francisco Public UtilitiesCommission. “This is drinking water that is being used for the steam loop.”

April 23, 2015 (CrisisMagazine.com) -- I am a very committed, very public advocate of marriage as a gender-based institution. Many of my fellow proponents of man/woman marriage cite religious liberty as an argument against redefining marriage. While I have great respect for those who promote this view, I must respectfully disagree with their assessment. The uproar over the Indiana Religious Freedom Restoration Act demonstrates that religious liberty arguments don’t work anymore. I take no pleasure in saying this. But religious liberty arguments are not compelling enough to induce our fellow citizens to sacrifice something they value, namely, sexual liberty.I can think of...

The California Assembly on Thursday unanimously approved a bill to rename the Waldo Tunnel after late comedian Robin Williams. The Waldo Tunnel is a tunnel on U.S. 101 between the Golden Gate Bridge and Sausalito in Marin County. William Waldo was a California politician who ran unsuccessfully for governor in 1853. The tunnel’s archways are painted in rainbow colors, which is why people sometimes call it the "rainbow tunnel." Williams was a long time resident of Marin. The idea to rename the tunnel started with an online petition that received more than 60,000 signatures. Julie Wainwright, who started the petition,...

Switzerland is the world's happiest nation thanks to healthy GDP figures, strong social bonds and an increasing life expectancy, a new study of global wellbeing has revealed. The list is dominated by European nations, particularly those in Scandinavia, and measures a country's population by factors contributing to its citizens' contentment, rather than wealth. Britons are happier now than they were two years ago, the study found, but still ranks in at a relatively lowly 21st place. And despite often mocking its northern neighbour as an inferior nation, the United States is a full 10 places below Canada, ranking at 10th...

As the 2016 election approaches, have we learned anything from history? On April 24, 1184 B.C., as legend has it, the Trojans looked out over their city wall, and saw the Greek ships sailing away, the Greeks apparently having given up after ten long years of war. All that was left was a horse. A great big, huge, heavy, beautiful horse statue on wheels, bearing a note, reading “The Greeks dedicate this thank-offering to Athena for their return home.” Well, the Trojans were no fools; they saw a great big piece of art, obviously the result of great work and...
