Moscow has made a huge mistake in returning South of the Terek River after promising to withdraw. Secretary of State Powell with egg on his face after being sandbagged by Putin.

He is a bit reticent these days but having recently heard from the campaign of Mr D's old buddy at the University of North Carolina State, John Edwards, requesting dirt on Wesley Clark, he has shed some inhibitions about telling what he knows.

While disturbing, this type of incident is not unusual in Albania. What makes the case remarkable is the possible American agency connection. However, it is extremely unlikely this event is motivated by politics but instead is a revenge type scenario being played out with a "friendly" warning to the driver -- with the American connection being mere coincidence.

Tirana remains a very soft target with extensive Islamic entente activity in the capital. When the opposition desires a large headline-making body count they will be able to achieve it in Albania: The West with no defence versus a carefully orchestrated Islamic entente "Night of the Long Knives". Britain must take great care not to let the American state of heightened alert permit a lowering of the guard in the much more vulnerable UK. With the exception of striking an American college bowl or professional playoff football game, it is extremely unlikely the Islamic entente will attack the US.

On the other hand Britain remains the critical link in the Western alliance during the Third World War. A successful Islamic entente strike versus London has the capacity to deliver a knockout blow to the Brits and effectively collapse the hard earned momentum Western forces have garnered in Iraq, Afghanistan, Georgia and the Philippines.

With America now on increased terror alert it is important that the front-line states in the war on terror not take their eyes off the ball. It is extremely unlikely any MANPADS style assault could be successfully launched in the US since the opposition does not have the capacity to smuggle large numbers of these weapons from their current acquisition zone to America.

Islamic entente strategy closely follows the teachings of General Erfurth who stressed that the integration of new weapons systems must be deployed en masse to effect a decision. While shooting down a civilian airliner in the States would be a spectacular coup, such an act does not win the fight for the outgunned entente forces. The Brits are wise to upgrade security in Tirana -- it is only a matter of time before the Islamic entente goes to work in the Olde Country. The Albanian capital much like Berlin in the 1950s -- all sides operate with impunity and a certain level of professional courtesy exists for those that play by the rules. However Tirana is full of soft targets -- which leads to this usual type of exchange among ex-pats on The Block.

Q: This place is swarming with the enemy now -- when will they hit us?

A: Only when they want to ring up a spectacular body count from a postmodern "Night of the Long Knives".

The road where the British Embassy is located is a narrow street sealed off only by a pair of guards at both the North and South end. They are seldom attentive and do not check IDs of those wandering past the checkpoint. At nights when a big football match is on the telly they often knock back a few rakis and let their minds roam before the evening nap...

Unlike the American Embassy on the rruga Durres the Brit Embassy is not under constant surveillance by the Islamic entente and the layout of the street prevents a suicide bomber from getting a long running start to detonate an F=MA-boosted car bomb. However internal security is weak and as late as 1999 infiltration through the grounds was possible from the (then) Kosovo Embassy.

Within the mosques of Tirana extremely accurate range cards targeting the American and British embassies have been circulated during the past few months. This is probably more of a propaganda ploy than a realistic attempt to initiate a mortar/breaching operation against these facilities. However Islamic entente communications in the last few months have indicated a likely indirect fire attack against Western embassies in the Balkans.

These are impossible to interdict without superior intelligence work. No counter-battery fire available in the Capital...

A trio of Western hangouts in Tirana have also been under Islamic entente surveillance during the past few weeks: France 98, the Stephens Centre, and the Amsterdam Restaurant. Each of these spots have heavy Western ex-pat traffic on the weekends and are open to both direct fire and suicide bombing attacks. When the alert level is raised, additional friendly eyes need to scope out these locations before the usual weekend gatherings.

Albania is friendly to America and Britain and has a very capable internal security apparat. However bitter political maneuvering in advance of the Socialist Party Congress and probable early elections next year have initiated a disconnect at certain levels within the security framework. There are holes open now that did not exist in the summer.

Mr Nano's block is ringed with the best anti-sniper and counter-terrorism teams in Albania -- of course he has reason to worry. However for the rest of the capital the landscape shows one huge soft target wedged around the hardened US Embassy.

The Islamic entente unlikely to make a move in Albania until they are ready to force a decision. They know where every Westerner lives and while they won't try and penetrate the Ridge, they can hit anywhere else anytime they want to...

Wraith it is good to hear from you and know that you are still out there fighting the good fight. There can be little doubt the Greater Albania phenomenon has taken the Balkans by storm -- now an amazing convergence of events prepares to propel the descendents of Ancient Illyria to increased levels of prosperity and self-determination.

Should we survive the coming firestorm, some twenty years hence we will read in great detail as the historians describe these early phases of World War III. The early campaigns of conquest/self-defence that saw the United States and Great Britain romp to victory after victory in Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and Syria dominated the era. Alas the Balkan campaigns that preceeded and continued during World War III will merit not much more than a footnote...

However some historians will rightly recognise that the decision by the neo-conservatives in Washington, DC to encourage the expansionist dreams of Greater Albania played a key role in the Anglo-Allied triumph in The Third World War. By stabilising the Balkans and neutralising revisionist Slavic elements that sought to continue a programme of resistance to Western market development, the veteran Albanian kampfgruppen permitted the modern day Bismarck -- George W Bush -- to extricate critical US forces from Bosnia and Kosovo prior to the Islamic entente worldwide counter-offensive.

As you know, these forces helped hold the crumbling line until a quarter million US reservists could be mobilised...

The bottom line is that the neo-conservatives run the entire world right now whether the United Nations likes it or not. Most of the senior leadership would have a hard time finding Prishtina or Kukes or Lake Ohrid on a map -- however they don't need to. They have their own people reporting to them and they make their own call. They have reevaluated the situation in the Balkans and are looking for an exit strategy. Kosovo independence is the most cost-effective way of reaching the specific strategic goals of the World War so they are pushing it now.

Any that stand in their way will be crushed...

You can kid yourself about Serb legions rolling back through the hills but it will never happen. Nationalistic Serb elements are being neutralised -- either bought off or thrown in prison. Younger Serbs care little for Kosovo as long as the rock and roll in Belgrade is loud and frenetic...

His Balkan strategy paper delivered to the neo-cons in DC last week outlining the coming moves for the Administration in securing Kosovo independence and continued economic growth for Albania. In a time of enormous deficits his programme outlines how a dollar invested in Albania and Kosovo independence yields twenty dollars down the line. If you ever drop by one of Grover Norquist's Wednesday meetings he might be there and I'm sure he would be glad to slip you a copy of the report...

So backing greater Albania an easy call for the Administration. It saves money and frees up troops -- and they will be needing plenty of both during this next decade...

Millions will die in The Third World War. Serb youngsters need only look as far as Chechnya to see the type of war they don't want to die in. Greater Albania armed to the teeth and more than ready for a fight should Belgrade be so foolish as to invade once more...

So Wraith I suspect Kosovo independence will be here before we know it and then everybody can go home satisfied with a job well done. Greater Albania will rule the Balkans for a Golden Age lasting centuries and the Serbs -- well they can make beer and not war...
