Western-provided F-16 fighter jets are on their way to Ukraine and set to start flying missions later this summer.

But they may not yet be enough to make a difference on the battlefield, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy indicated in a discussion this week on what Ukraine needs, comparing the jets to the US-made Abrams tanks that Ukraine got last fall.

Asked by Fox News' host Bret Baier at the Reagan Institute if the 31 Abrams Ukraine received as its counteroffensive was already stumbling made a difference, Zelenskyy said: "I'm not sure that such number of tanks can change the situation on the battlefield."

“Even if we will have 50, it's nothing. They have 300. Because we are defending, we need 128," he said, adding that unless Ukraine has that amount of F-16s, they won't "compare with them in the sky." He said "it will be difficult."

The less than 50, which is what they’ll get, everyone knows will make no difference. What’s the point?

That’s living in the past. The reason the Abrams weren’t effective against Russian tanks is because the Uke drones had already taken the Russian tanks out before the Russian drones took out the Abrams.

if he doesn’t need them or thinks that they won’t help him, then let’s keep them here at home or send them to our allies like Israel (currently fighting back against an awful mass murderer terrorist attack and facing serious equipment needs), or like Japan (now an ally and helping with the defense of ROC/Taiwan) or ROC/Taiwan, or ... several additional countries are under attack or serious threat from our enemies and adversaries

or as I mentioned, just keep the planes at home. there’s NO point sending them to a place which says they’re not needed or won’t help it

It’s going to take nukes to do that. That fact has been proven already. Even American boys committed and dying by the hundreds every week won’t defeat the Russians, let alone the Russians and their NORK and Chinese allies’ divisions. The problem they have is not Abrams or F-16s. Those are amazing and still world beating weapons. But THAT is when you have them run by the First Armored Division, or USAF pilots with their entire package. Those are no joke.
