Putin merely another jack-booted ex-KGB thug who has found temporary success by destroying democracy in Russia even as he commits genocide versus the Chechen people in a desperate attempt to retain power. Western policy makers alarmed with Putin's unilateral heist of the country and have now agreed that Shamil Basayev represents a lesser threat to the West than the madman Putin.
