The stunning victory of Chechen nationalists versus the decaying Russian Federation was a minor campaign in the Third World War yet it held tremendous strategic significance for America's 21st century energy policy. With U.S. covert operations successfully overthrowing the Georgian government, the Chechen flank was secured and Shamil Basayev given the green light to launch his offensive against Moscow. Basayev was willing to negotiate free passage for the Baku-Tblisi oil pipeline in exchange for the high-tech weaponry and real-time intelligence reports needed to annihilate the Russian occupation forces.

*******

With Russian troops retreating under the relentless assault of Chechen Nationalists -- veteran Eastern shock troops unstoppable by any Western force -- the whole world holds its breath with pride and admiration for the remarkable "Basayev Offensive" that has staggered the Russian Federation. With a February 1st deadline to retire or see Moscow annhilated, Russian senior commanders have broken with a shaken Putin and are in headlong retreat from Chechnya.

Hundreds of Russian conscripts butchered in the past week...

Dry is good and wind is better...

Shamil Basayev has warned Putin to end his murdering genocide or face destruction. With fresh equipment, monies and intelligence from the United States of America his forces continue to romp across free-Chechnya and prepare to liberate Dagestan and Ingushetia from the jack-boot of Russian Federation hegemonism...

Neo-conservatives in Washiongton, DC cheering each tactical victory in the Basayev Offensive as America prepares for the long weekend punctuated by the Martin Luther King/ Robert E Lee holiday. They hold their breath that the only Democrat that can defeat president Bush -- Mr D's old college sparring partner John Edwards -- runs out of steam in his Iowa caucus charge.

For they realise Edwards -- "Johnny Jump-up" -- will defeat the modern day Bismarck if he becomes the nominee...

Otherwise they are most pleased as the countdown for war with Iran and Syria continues unabated. Moscow, Tehran, Damascus and Skopje all threaten the stability of the West -- all will be neutralised in appropriate fashion in the months to come.

Shamil Basayev and his veteran lobbyists on Capitol Hill with a remarkable display of Washington DC maneuvering. Basayev now with a green light to defeat Moscow and end the Chechen people's four hundred year struggle. Putin nothing but another Moscow thug wearing a cheap suit and bad haircut. His 2001 gambit with the modern day Bismarck in Slovenia proving to be a spectacular failure...

Meanwhile oil prirces move higher as the Islamic entente prepares to strike. The futures pits seeing fresh streams of opposition money betting on a sudden spike in prices...

The forces of freedom on the move. Europe trembles.

I don't think the Saudis or their Chechen pals are going to help us build a pipeline anywhere.
