We get it. It's hard to read the divinely inspired word of the creator of the universe. He's so judgy! But, since your salvation might depend on it, you better get some great excuses ready to share on Judgment Day.
Here are some of the best excuses for not reading your Bible:
1. You just went to church last month and don't want to overdo it: You don't want to be an extremist!
2. It's not as encouraging as Your Best Life Now: Joel Osteen's prose is to die for.
3. If you take your eye off the Hot Pocket you're microwaving for one second it might burn: And then you'd be hungry! God wouldn't want that.
4. You already watched The Chosen: It's so hard to get into a good book if you already know how it ends.
5. Those 900 Korok seeds in Zelda: Breath of the Wild aren't going to collect themselves: Finding Korok seeds is a metaphor for finding Christ probably.
6. You're Donald Trump and don't need forgiveness: He has never done anything wrong, ever.
7. You're still recovering from the story of Ehud: Enough to give anyone PTSD.
8. You misplaced your copy and new ones are so hard to find: You have to walk all the way to the back of Barnes & Noble.
9. The Jordan Peterson lecture on Genesis you watched has you covered: Up yours woke moralists! We'll see who cancels who from paradise!
20. It's not like the Bible is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work, or anything like that: 'Cause if it were, you'd definitely meditate on it day and night.
Churches don’t read Bibles, people do (or do not). How am I preaching to you? Why the hostility?
The convoluted explanations needed to justify Catholic doctrine and the fancies about Mary just go to show how little basis in reality they have.

The fantasies about Mary that the Catholic church teach as true are complete fabrications with NO support from the word of God, which we know is truth.
The only error is the lies spread about Mary, her life, her looks, her sinlessness, her deification, and her elevation to the position of Queen of Heaven.

I was told that I shouldn’t read the Bible because I couldn’t understand it. The priests and nuns were trained and knew how to interpret it and if I had questions, I should ask them and they’d tell me what it meant.

Like I said, it happened to some decades ago. It’s not the case now and hasn’t been for a while. The Church in recent years (especially Pope Benedict) has made it a point to encourage Bible reading. There are so many good Catholic Bible studies and resources now there is really no excuse.
It’s on my summer reading bucket list this year. Been wanting to read the whole thing straight through for decades. I admit skimming through some of the genealogies and such. Was progressing along at a pretty good clip up until Psalms - seems like each one makes me stop, re-read, and pray.
I also skipped Job for the time being - I have a well-worn, pre-owned, leather-bound paperback size Bible that’s inexplicably missing several pages of it. I have plenty of other copies, but this one is my travel companion.
LOL. It sounds like you are the one that is “butt hurt”. May the Lord heal you and bring you peace.
I admit that I avoided reading Job for many years. My main hang up was that I found it confusing as to how I should take the speeches of Job’s friends and whether their advice was all bad, mostly good, but a mixture of good and bad. I’ve only recently been able to parse through all that and gain an appreciation of the book.
I would never discourage anyone from reading the Bible all the way through, but in my experience studying and teaching the Bible, the best way to approach it is by getting the Big Story first, then focusing down. The narrative of the Bible is found in the historical books like Genesis, Exodus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua, Judges, etc. They are very interesting to read and they give you a good grasp of salvation history on which to build. You can then read the other books in the context of the entire story. If you’re interested PM me and I can recommend some resources to get you started.

What is bothersome to me is the ultimate consequence to the sincere people who have posted here. That will happen on the Day of Judgment.
We get a hint of that Day in Revelation 20. We will individually stand before the Lord — for sentencing, not determination of guilt. There will be the “books” [the Bible] and the Book of Life. We will be judged by what is written in the “books.”
Premise: The Lord’s judgment will be sharper than a two-edged sword.
As we give an account of our deeds, we will not be able to use Catechisms, traditions, commentaries, sermons, priests, ministers, pastors, elders, preachers, etc., in our defense. Those may help our understanding of scripture while we are alive; they will be unavailable at our Judgment.
Consider this:
Catholics: Some will appear before the Lord believing and practicing all understandings of Mary, the mother of Jesus, as their service to the Lord..
Protestants: Others will appear before the Lord asserting that they did not believe nor practice such an understanding in their service to the Lord.
These are mutually exclusive beliefs.
The Lord cannot judge them both worthy of salvation.
If the Lord declares the Catholic version to be correct, millions of “Christians” will be condemned.
If the Lord declares the Protestant version to be correct, millions of “Christians” will be condemned.
If the Lord permits both to enter heaven, then the Lord is neither just nor good.
If this is to be resolved so that we all can be confident that the Lord will welcome us into heaven, it must be that we must study the “books” with which the Lord will judge us on that Day.
That study of the “books” will be our source of knowledge, our source of guidance and ultimately, our source of assurance of salvation.
Doesn’t the verse: “Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: “ just shout in your ears?
Neither will we be able to rely on our personal interpretation of Scripture based upon our own denominational bias or personal prejudices.
Consider this:

Our God would be a very small God indeed if our salvation hinged on this one issue. We are saved by grace through faith working in love. Ultimately nothing else matters.
But if someone is serving Mary, they are not serving God. If they are trusting Mary, they are not trusting God.
Mary and God are not interchangeable. Trusting Mary does not be default translate into trusting God.
I would like some Catholic somewhere to explain exactly what the point of all this Mary stuff is anyways.
Will God not listen to those who follow Him when they pray?
Was Jesus atonement not enough in and of itself that works must be added to it?
Is the Holy Spirit incapable of giving grace to the believer that Mary is necessary to fill in?
If God can do it all, then what’s the point of all the Mary stuff? It’s redundant.
If Mary is necessary, then people think that God is not enough in and of Himself to do His own work without “help” from Mary and that makes God less than God and Mary greater than Him as she is filling in what He lacks.
FWIW, no Christians will be condemned. Many who call themselves Christians will be, but no genuine believers in JESUS, will be.
It appears that Catholics live in perpetual denial of the clear and obvious historical facts.
I can see the conflict. If they admit their church was wrong in even the smallest matter, the whole house of cards comes tumbling down because it’s NOT based on Scripture.
