And that was in the late 60’s, and told me by a nun. Like I said, it happened to some decades ago. It’s not the case now and hasn’t been for a while. The Church in recent years (especially Pope Benedict) has made it a point to encourage Bible reading. There are so many good Catholic Bible studies and resources now there is really no excuse.
