It appears that Catholics live in perpetual denial of the clear and obvious historical facts.
I can see the conflict. If they admit their church was wrong in even the smallest matter, the whole house of cards comes tumbling down because it’s NOT based on Scripture.

You entirely misapprehend what it is truly like to be Catholic.
We don’t live to discuss certain things that others mistakenly view as open for debate.
The thought processes of an authentic Catholic are stable and reliable and much more well-founded in dogma, solid doctrine and, yes, Holy Scripture (Douay Rheims, please), than folks like you ever seem willing to give us credit for.
