Italian Archbishop: Pope Benedict Retired Due to ‘Tremendous Pressure’

March 7, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – An Italian archbishop close to Pope Benedict XVI says the former pope decided to resign as a result of “tremendous pressure.”

Archbishop Luigi Negri who says he has visited Pope Benedict “several times” since his resignation in 2013, is the only Italian bishop to have ever participated in the annual pro-life march in Rome. Negri resigned as archbishop of Ferrara-Comacchio in February after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 75.

In an article published Monday by news outlet Rimini 2.0, Archbishop Negri said that while he has little knowledge of the inner workings of the Curia, “I am certain that the truth will emerge one day showing grave liability both inside and outside the Vatican.”

“It is no coincidence that in America, even on the basis of what has been published by Wikileaks, some Catholic groups have asked President Trump to open a commission of inquiry to investigate whether the administration of Barack Obama exerted pressure on Benedict,” he said. It remains shrouded in mystery for now, he said, “but I am sure that those responsible will be found out.”

Concluding the point, he said that as he approaches his death the first question St. Peter will ask him will be “exactly about this issue.”

In his February 11, 2013 speech where he announced his resignation, Pope Benedict XVI cited his deteriorating “strength of mind and body” leading to his “incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted” to him. He noted that he renounced the papacy with “full freedom”

Nevertheless, the resignation, unprecedented in modern history, sent shockwaves throughout the world with a flurry of suggestions that Benedict was forced to resign. The concerns were reinforced by words that Benedict himself said at his own election to pontificate in 2005. At his first Mass.........

I bet the wolves ate their kill with obama and jarrett.

This is sickening.

I hate that mother #######.

I thought wrongly that we were finally done with him.

Can’t wait to see him in chains. And with Trump, it is a possibility.

In a bizarre twist, it may turn out that Benedict XVI is still the pope after all. With every bit of lunacy that I hear from this South American dude, I wonder if he isn’t even the legitimate pope.

If it can be proved that BXVI resigned due to pressure, then Frankie is not the Pope but an Anti-Pope -that is, someone claiming the title while there is already a holder of the throne.

Francis is either an Anti-Pope or the False Prohet or possibly even the Evil One himself. Who knew it would be a stupid, ignorant, arrogant little Argentinian?

The pressure that specifically led to decision to abdicate was from outside, a secular source, not directly Obama but he did not oppose it.
Benedict resigned to save the Church.

I don’t know if I can agree BVXI resigned to save the church when the church has taken a dramatic turn for the worse under his successor.

I assume Francis isn’t even a minor servant of Satan. I assume Satan would use a human servant who is more cunning, intelligent and convincing than this guy, who comes across to me like someone who is borderline retarded.

“Tremendous pressure” moved Benedict XVI to retire. John Paul II felt the tremendous pressure when he visited Bucharest in 1999. The Russian Orthodox clergy gave him tons of grief. Similarly, the liberal clergy gave Benedict tons of grief. Yes, B XVI resigned in order to save his health and save the Church. He more than anyone knows how short is the leash of Bergoglio and how unlimited is the power of the Lord.

I’m sure that Bergoglio is getting crushed daily by tremendous pressure that he alone dishes out. I saw him on Youtube on Ash Wednesday 2017 and Francis looked beat and weak. Two people help him with a simple set of four stairs. He needs to retire.

< Benedict resigned to save the Church.

Or maybe let the pope that would facilitate the rise of the NWO and the Anti-Christ. Some really stinks with Frankie. He spouts things that aren't in the bible and supports and says there are more paths to Heaven than the true way - through Jesus. It's almost as if he doesn't know his bible or ever read it. I'm guessing he forgot John 14:6?

John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me".

“Pray for me, that I may not flee for fear of the wolves.”

So I guess those prayers were not answered. I sure hope when we die a lot of things are revealed. While certainly not free of sins, mine must pale in comparison to the majority.

I am a big fan of Cardinal Ratzinger/Pope Benedict XVI and always was. He is a great writer and the most ardent advocate of Catholic doctrine.
There was a good reason he was elected to lead our faith.
The NWO turned off the cash spigot to the Vatican. Pope Benedict sought a way out but all avenues were closed.
That’s why people rightly say he resigned to save the Church.

They won’t win in the end.

I truly expect Pope Benedict XVI to be vindicated.
