Which Bible?
There are at least 3 Bibles - Protestant, Roman Catholic, and Coptic. Some say there is a fourth Bible (Greek Orthodox).
And there have been two Protestant versions, one with the Deuterocanonical books and the ones now without. Which Protestant Bible should we go by? The earliest and best Protestant Bible has the Deuterocanonical books.
It all comes down to faith. There is no proof that Jesus or Mary rose from the dead, and all the arguments against either are meaningless because the burden of proof rests with those who believe anything to prove it.
The New Testament accounts.
In the case of Jesus, there is the testimony of witnesses.
I'm not sure one even needs faith to know that Christ rose from the dead. Evidentiary proof is as great if not greater than that required to convict someone of a crime in court. The implications of His Resurrection require more faith than the Resurrection itself.
If you would like to pick up a book on the historical evidence for the Resurrection, look at N.T. Wright's "Resurrection of the Son of God". It's a bit of work but well worth the effort. There was a discussion on it some ten years ago or so on FR.
Try reading Josh McDowell's "Evidence That Demands A Verdict"
He leaves out Mary though.
1 Corinthians 15:14 (AMP)
14 And if Christ has not risen, then our preaching is in vain [it amounts to nothing] and your faith is devoid of truth and is fruitless (without effect, empty, imaginary, and unfounded).
BTW - if you can't trust the Word of God, who or what can you trust?
You left out the Latin Vulgate.
Actually there are many translations of the Bible.
All those VERSIONS of the bible say Jesus was resurrected from the dead, none of those VERSIONS of the bible say Mary was resurrected from the dead.
So where in the bible does it say Mary was resurrected from the dead? Answer nowhere! Mary’s body decayed just like every other sinners body.
In 2000 years there will be less proof you lived, yet here you are.
By proof, I assume you mean, other than eye witness or extra biblical proof. Most of the world would not believe even though some one came back from the dead to warn them of eternal judgement. Jesus himself said “blessed are those who believe and have not seen”. Now as regards the Assumption of Mary, there was never any prophecy regarding her, whereas there are many OT prophecies regarding the coming messiah’s sacrificial death and resurrection and second return. Whether you personally believe or not is certainly your prerogative... what proof do you need? Here’s a proof for you... Q) Why do atheists rail more against the God of the bible than they do Buda, Brahman or Allah? A) People don’t hate what’s not there.
There is no proof that Jesus or Mary rose from the dead
There are eyewitness accounts of Jesus’ Resurrection in the Gospels and Epistles. Furthermore, contemporary writings mention the sudden emergence of a religious group called “The Way” who claim God lived among us as Jesus who was put to death and rose from the dead.

I know of no “evidence” outside Catholic doctrine supporting Mary’s ascension.
