Ill call him Fr. John. He was a charismatic Anglo Catholic priest.
A friend of my brother Daryls well call Henry died suddenly in a plane crash and he was upset because although Henry was a believer he was away from God when he died.
So Fr. John said, We have to have a requiem Mass for Henry.
They went into church and locked the door for privacys sake. Another priest well call Fr. George celebrated the Mass.
Henry was about twenty years old. He was just over five foot tall with a shock of blonde hair and a wide face with freckles.

You figure out what someone wants to hear then say it to them and they believe it, because it's what they want to hear.
“I had a girl ask me if I saw people that were not there. I asked her what she saw and she said people dressed in old cloths. I asked her if they looked at her. and she said no. There are man people with gifts that have not developed them.”
I worked with a guy who was a stereotypical solidly blue-coller-both feet on the ground guy who said the same thing.
He’d be, say, driving along and he’d see someone standing at the side of the road whose cloths looked somehow odd. It happened a good number of times but it was only when he commented on it to someone who SHOULD have seen the person as well that he discovered that he was seeing things. IFIRC it was a guy in a “1920’s suit” standing alone on a road flanked only by woods. “See the dude in the gangster suit”? he says to a guy in the truck with him...

Those things are dangerous.
Moses and Elijah appeared with Jesus .... Demonic?
No big deal. I see him every Christmas.
Excellent comments. Very good insights in your comments.
When I was young I would see halos or light radiating out from ministers while they were preaching. Not all preaching ministers but some of them. I told a friend of mine and she told me what it was called (I can’t think of the name now). After she told me I never saw another one.
thank you. Please note the insights in the quotations are Fr. Longenecker’s. And I agree with them.
“Peter, James and John saw Moses and Elijah.”
Yes, they did. Now, I suppose someone could say that Elijah was not dead, but Moses clearly was because we are told he was dead. Apparently, some here want to pretend their appearance on Mount Tabor never happened.
Thank you for your post # 59. I also agree with the why as written by Fr. Longenecker.
At Gettysburg, just down the road, I took some family tourists. I distinctly heard drums playing in a military manner at a small distance. I asked “Where are are those drums coming from?” All five people with me asked “What drums?”
Thank you for your post. Your husband definitely confirmed who/what you saw. Perhaps it was the old gentleman’s way of saying hello to you and your husband.
“People dont see the dead. They see demons masquerading as the dead relative or friend.”
This is often true but not always.
Where is the Biblical basis for this type of mass in Catholic or Anglican church theology?
I know.
The Apostles were selected by Jesus, so they WOULD be special, wouldn't they?
And what about those Christians who were taught that they would lay in their grave until Christ’s Second Coming? would their souls have gone instantly to God, or would they be waiting?
If you are serious, and if it happens again (and if you are a Christian) tell it in the name of Jesus Christ to leave and then when you pray, thank God for working with you and having a plan for you. Ask Him to remove anything from your abode and presence that He did not send. Ask for help to avoid distractions that obscure His purpose in what you do.
When we moved in here there was all sorts of walking around sounds from upstairs, but you’d go look and no one was there. There were shadows flitting around our rooms too but that’s all gone now.
It’s not about the impressiveness of the qualifications of the person who says “go away”.
